    Another great video. I really like the knife but I'd need to add a sheath as I wear mine on my harness. You sold me on the strongarm I've been carrying that since last fall. Keep up the good work be safe.

    Brian, you shouldn't have introduced your puppy...couldn't keep my mind on your knife presentation :) The knife is pretty cool and when you mentioned its "big brother" having an orange handle I took notice of that. Several of my knives have orange handles, both fixed blade and folding ones. I'm even looking at buying a burnt orange Jeep JK. Every time I go backpacking and camping I make sure I wear something orange...haven't been shot at so far, guess it works! However, orange is not my favorite color. OD green is and I blame 23 years of military service for it. BTW I picked up one of those Klik-belts and love it. It's now a full on survival belt with CCW, Gerber Strongarm (with velcro attached Smith PP1 sharpener), fire kit, first aid kit, Silky Pocketboy and two sizes of Olights. The belt has the TSA approved buckle, however, I don't think this belt kit would make it through security. Hey, good advice re Amazon. See something you like...check other websites before you decide to buy.

    As others have mentioned, it's StrongArm competition with important differences: cost, place of manufacture, and sheath. Lashing holes on blade are odd. Kuma (?) is beautiful, BTW, and good point about Amazon. Have to price shop.

    Besides the Outdoorsman and the Outdoorsman XL Böker also sell an Outdoorsman Mini. The Mini has the same handle, but a much shorter blade (5.9cm).
    Looks like Böker produce a family of interesting knives at reasonable prices.

    You're right about Amazon, that exotac lighter was $40 Then went up to $160. You gotta pay attention before you buy.

    • @SurvivalOnPurpose
      @SurvivalOnPurpose  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Almost anybody can sell on Amazon at whatever price they want (unless they are selling "critiical" supplies). The Exotac lighter is available on Amazon for the standard $50 price. I'm not sure why the $130 listing always comes up first.

    Check out BPS knives made in Croatia. I own each of their models and they seem pretty good: 1066 carbon steel, wood handles, leather sheath. I prefer the BPS Knives BS2FTS ~ $30. The BS3FTS is basically a Mora Companion HD with wood scales/leather sheath ~ $25. I am NOT affiliated! That Boker looks nice. It's just not for me. Nice review. Thanks.

      You do realise that no-one else in the world is as insistent as Americans on buying things manufactured in their own country, don't you? I literally never see comments saying, 'I only ever buy stuff made in Britain/Germany/Italy/wherever' but I see it from Americans all the time. I don't know whether this should be a matter of pride or shame for you.

      drengskap I’ll tell you it’s pride 100%. If you’re not an American and seen our way of life there are no words for you to understand it so I won’t try to explain it to you. But I will say this I said 90% of my knives are made in the USA. I have a Lotta great knives from Schrade they were made in China and also Germany known for the sharpest blades. Yes I will not buy from China anymore with there child slave labor. And as far as Italy is concerned I own a few guns from Beretta that are made in Italy. I’ll say it again if you’re not an American there are no words to describe our pride you will never understand it. Plus I want to keep Americans working it’s my country.! And I care about my people. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

    I would love about 6 of these knives for my family! I have a son and daughter with significant others and my wife and i.The grandkids are still too young to get and use one! But my biggest problem is they are made in china!How about MERICAN MADE Knives for a change?I have a few knives and all are made in the good old USofA!!!I refuse to buy anything made in china and always have held this creed since i was a child! My grandparents always said if its made in china its "junk" and i will only buy U.S. made products! The only way i would purchase one of these is if and only if i had no other choice!Thank GOD we live in America where there are many choices!!!

    Prefer the mini version it doesn't have the holes in the blade and comes with Kydex sheath. Still has the same size handle which is great because most smaller bladed knives come with tiny handles even for my little hands. Can't complain for the price.

    Looking at all those negative reactions to this knife beign a Chinese made product makes me kinda sad. So yeah, for most of you in USA it's a no-brainer to just pick a Condor or a Gerber, but for us in Europe said companies' products outprice BokerPlus' by a factor of x2 or even more. Even if the price was equal, not eveybody needs a big knife, think of this knife as an option, plus 12C27 is great material, most Moras are made from it and they are great knives.

      Because it is easier to do in mass production . You can just have 2 grinding wheels opposite each other and run the blade between them, probably with a robot or something completely automated.
