This is awesome. From what I've read, Comanche warriors were the most badass of all the tribes on the plains from Montana to Texas. This must have been absolutely terrifying to an enemy to hear
My father was full blooded Comanche and the pride and strength that man had amazed all❤ I love to see our people still representing our tribe and all Natives❤
@@ComancheChad I drive through Comanche, TX and I get triggered driving through.. Yet my moms heritage is Choctaw.. I feel better knowing our heritage is still there and being taught! Respect!! Great Spirit… Teach this wayward Choctaw your ways and abide by your customs.
my 3rd great grandfather was part of a milita in comanche County that protected settlers from comanche raiding parties during the Civil War when all federal troops left Texas to fight. I can only imagine the guts it took. these guys were badass to the bone
Incredible! There’s nothing ever move me as this. Close my eyes and feel my spirit leave me. I think it sits with you, banging that drum. Thank you for sharing this.
I agree. The story of your family heritage is one of the most compelling narratives in the history of North America, documenting an incredible time of human cultural clash, war, betrayal, but also pride, strength, heroism, and decency between people. Much respect to you and your forebears.
Hi Buzzy Bird, I've always been interested in the story of Quanah Parker. I think it's cool that you're a descendant of his. Would you have some time to tell me everything you know about him from your spoken family history? I would be happy to pay you for your time. I'm just doing research on my own. Thanks very much!
He was also DAMN good-looking! He'd have married me or killed me (probably the latter) bc I wouldn't have left him alone! I knew there was a reason I've said, for years, that I was born 100 years too late!😅
Imagine the Comanche and every war tribe signing a big pow wow deal.. Drums and War Songs fill the air for miles and miles of War Tribes in harmony!! Warriors putting on war paint, weapons ready.. Horses and Warriors primed to attack..
I’m 35 miles east of the Ancient Comanche Homeland of Comanche, TX It would be sweet, to have the Cherokee, Choctaw, Apache, Comanche, Sioux, Lipan, and Tigua tribes setup Tee Pee’s doing war dances as Drug Cartels be like “Uh oh!” Then do a 5,000 performers song “Cherokee People!!!!! Cherokee Triiiibe!!!” HaLito!!
Once in San Diego, we lived what we learned in the first cow ranch in California around 1 a.m. we suddenly. heard the native beautiful yelling or chanting for around 30 seconds and the coyotes started to howl, I have looked everywhere since then for similar native chanting or war calls and I can not find it on TH-cam.
I will find my way to the Treaty Oak(Council of Oaks) in Austin a spiritual center of Native Life in Austin and the Comanche and play this. All life is forward. Life is nothing without history or tradition. Let us see what it brings.
My ancestor was Sequoyah, Cherokee scholar. My scottish ancestor married the daughter of wurteh watts, the mother of sequoyah and the sister of chief John Young tassel. I am white but you can believe im proud of my native ancestors.
Hi Comanche Chad, this is really awesome. I'm really interested in learning more about this and other Comanche songs and about the history of the Comanche tribe from its current people. If you had some time to talk with me on the phone I would be happy to pay you for your time. I'm just doing research on my own out of curiosity and would like to learn all I can. I grew up in Apache Junction, Arizona and have always admired native culture. Thanks very much.
Context is everything. Here this is beautiful. But in the context of war this has to be one of the most terrifying things witness much less think thru. I have chills
Love the Comanche people, would loved to have lived backn the time, when the comanches were the LORD of the plains. TIME of buffalo hump, Quannah parker, his son Balwin
Baldwin Parkers son Baldwin Jr was married to my gma Margaruerite Tahchawwickah Parker. He was an awesome gpa and one keen singer. He composed a beautiful comanche song. Ill post it one day
My english is not correct.... But I like indian music... I am very interesting by american history... I would like to assist one Powwow during a next trip...
I'd like to know where to see a powwow too... I've driven through many reservations but I guess I seemed to be looking for a shirtless Indian on a horse or something more ironic and not a guy with a baseball hat hahahah. Love the Natives

If you heard that song (or something like it) in Texas in the 1830s or 1840s it would probably be the last song you ever heard.
Empire of the Summer Moon is one of the best books about how fierce they were

I'm African American but you can feel the power in this

Researchers state that if you were within 400 miles of a Comanche war party…you had approximately one week to live. Chilling to say the least.
Then no settler in and around Texas would have survived.
Awesome

I’ve only recently found out my Mexican heritage was actually a mix of Spanish from Spain and Comanche. My soul has always connected to these drums.
