I *love* this game, played it at Essen and our whole table immediately bought copies. It’s not *really* a bidding game, it’s more like press-your-luck, the “wiggle room” comes from trying to out-maneuver other players so they can’t bid or are “forced” to take negative points, which escalate rapidly. Plays well at many player counts, reasonably quick, can play with anyone… it’s great, underrated gem.
That only works if the other players are not doing the same thing, which makes the whole "push you luck" element worthless. And if everyone tries to be as good as they can, then Zee is right, and it falls flat. A major dissapoinment for me.
