    • @yourfriendintech
      @yourfriendintech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think that's the million dollar question everyone is asking themselves right now. There's a lot of perks to working in an office (like this video), and working at home (like you mentioned). Personally, I don't see myself going back to the office 5 days a week - but I'm not sure if I'm 100% sold on being fully remote either.

    Jon, I just graduated from a state university with a bachelors degree in CS, and I performed well getting A’s in almost all class, especially the ones central to CS. I really want to get my first job at Google out of university. I have an internship at a huge company in my state under my belt and two moderately advanced software engineering projects done by me. I’m feeling overwhelmed by the intensity of the coding interview questions although I enjoyed discrete math, logic, etc. I was wondering your 100% honest opinion about if you think it’s possible for me to get into Google and if you also felt overwhelmed with preparing for interview questions.

    • @yourfriendintech
      @yourfriendintech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Congrats on graduating! You sound like you already have an impressive resume so great job on all you've accomplished. The interviews are hard, but not impossible - I 100% think you *can* get into Google. Apply and go through the interview process to see for yourself 😄 otherwise the answer will always be no

    • @musaratjahan7954

    Hey Jon, great video. I'm curious about a number of things regarding working for Google... How do you say "I'm done with work today"? You spent a lot of time during your day recording for this video and thus said you had to catch up on some things. What does this look like? Do you need to commit X features per week or day?

    • @yourfriendintech
      @yourfriendintech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Hey Cody, great question! I do have autonomy over my schedule; so the super simple answer is I know I'm done for the day when I've hit 8 hours. There's a lot of planning and estimating to determine what I'm going to do each day, and it depends on a variety of things like priorities, deadlines, existing workload, etc. Hope that answers your question!

    I am Korean, 13years old and I am hoping to become a software engineer in silicon valley in the future.
    Some people says that If u want to work on software based jobs, u should study or learn coding when u are young.
    What do u think about this? Should I start studying coding?
    And Do you see people who came from abroad, especially from Korea?
    Thank you! I wish I can work on Google in the future!

      @yourfriendintech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ella! It's not a requirement that you start learning how to code at a young age; I didn't start learning until I was 18 and in college. I think if you are interested in becoming a software engineer, then it could be helpful to start learning how to code now so you can know whether or not it's something you're actually interested in doing as a career. You may not like it, or you may love it! But you won't know unless you try. And yes I do know people from Korea who work at Google 👍👍

    Hey Jon, really enjoyed your video. Love your background music selection at 4:22 and 6:55 in your edit. Can't find the title in your video music credits, don't think it is DJ GONZ, so I had to "Shazam" it...Shazam says the title is "Mad Night" - Happy Dance Music, but I can't find it in itunes. Could you confirm the music title used at 4:22 and 6:55.
    Look forward to your upcoming videos!!
