My husband and I went on the inaugural sailing of Utopia of The Seas. We had a fabulous time and were able to see a a majority of the ship and see all the shows. We got up around 9 and stayed up late. The food was fabulous every evening in the dining room. Our waitress made sure we knew that if we didn’t like what we ordered we could get something else. And the ship had specific areas where parties were supposed to be. I mean Utopia advertises itself to be the Worlds Biggest Weekend! We found areas where peace and quiet was available. I found it to be a little bit of everything for everyone available on Utopia! Not everyone wants to be confined on a ship for 5-7 days which why we choose the 3 day sailing. And the thought of going back is what I think Utopia is trying to get people to do. With such a big ship, you might not see it all. So planning a second trip makes sense to us. We plan on going back again with our kids for the four day cruise. I was really shocked to hear your review because my husband and I and a wonderful time! We even got an opportunity to be a part of a movie being filmed onboard!
I was on the inaugural back to back sailing and it was great. They gave you champagne as you board the ship. Also we get room gifts (ie Hat, magnetic cellphone wallet, photos etc). They had seafood (filet mignon, lobster, crab. etc) in the Windjammer and at Solarum bistro restaurant. We ate at the Coastal Kitchen where you can actually order things that are not available on the menu.
You guys don't seem like the party couple anyway for Utopia of the seas that really looks like a college party cruise and I would be upfront and center
My husband and I are trying to decide which cruise line to go with next and this video was extremely helpful! We are a laid back couple who want to relax and are not into the loud party scenes or being around a lot of people who have too much to drink. We were looking at tis ship because it's new and we wanted an upscale room, but after watching this, we don't think this ship is the right one for us. Thank you for this content!
It’s really about the crowd that comes onboard. We just got off this ship and most of the party vibes were at the main pool and the party venues. Other than that I found it pretty laid back. You would enjoy the solarium, it’s adults only and very laid back. They have plenty of seating, loungers, a bar and so on in that area. The private island Coco Cay, if you go to Coco Beach part, it’s very mature adults and not crowded at all. We met a lot of very nice mature folks, crew was phenomenal. You can check out MSC which is very laid back but if you want to try this ship, I don’t think you’ll regret it. I agree that the main pools were like a college party but if you go to the areas I mentioned, you’ll enjoy yourself.
You should stay with Celebrity-this ship is not for you -Sorentos. Pizza is for a quick bite not a speciality dining experience- these cruises on Utopia for for party goers not party poopers- Also I love the openness of Central Park to the clouds -those rooms are for people who like them - we don’t care if you see across the other room -this ship is not for you - 😮
We went on Utopia of the Seas and had an amazing time. Althouth the cruise is short, some cruisers book back to back to either make it a 6 night or 7 night cruise on Utopia. We ate at the specialty restaurants and Chops were very good along with several others. Overall I guess it's whats important to each individual.
We went on Utopia this past weekend. The first day was cancelled because of Hurricane Milton and they decided not to go to Nassau because of the loss of day. Then we got to Coco Cay and it was pouring down rain for most of the time we were there. A few hours later we were on our way back to Port Canaveral. I want to give them another chance but it’s hard to think about spending that much money for something that they pretty much knew was going to happen.
Wow! We were on MSC Seashore last week when Milton hit. (Check out our video “Surviving Milton”) It was quite the experience. The first few days was raining/windy, but the ship was not rocky. We then went to Ocean Cay which is a very beautiful island. Not nearly commercialized as Coco Cay. The weather was nice. Then we headed to Nassau and the weather was also beautiful there. Milton hit Port Canaveral Wednesday night and we were suppose to return on Thursday. The Coast Guard reported that we had to stay as sea an extra day. Friday morning on our way back it was very rocky, but we made it safely. Sorry, you were not able to get the experience the excursions. What did you think about the ship (Utopia)?

I think it’s all been said already and we can see this definitely is not the cruise ship for you. I am a new cruiser, my husband and I just got off Wonder of the seas and we are booked on Utopia in January and Star next October 2025, I look at a lot of reviews from advid cruisers. Most advise to research the personality of the ship to see if it will fit your tone and pace, I’m concerned that as a content creator you did not discern prior to taking this sailing it didn’t fit your personality? Please keep in mind there are some who may not be as seasoned a cruiser as you and they are looking to you for an unbiased opinion that may still draw the right personality to the ship even if you picked incorrectly.
My family is planning to go on a second cruise, and we are choosing between Utopia and Allure. However, drive-wise from our home, the port for Utopia is the closest. Your video helps a lot and we are excited to have another cruise.
I went on the labor day cruise with my parents, husband and 2 little kids for 4 nights and we had a ball! I would have to disagree with you on being a full party cruise as there were lots of activities and areas that were nice for all of us and we loved it!! Going back with adults only next time for a diff experience. We had a nice quiet ocaen view balcony which we always book. Sounds like you should stick with the Celebrity cruise line or the luxury ones for what you all like. And I love SORRENTO's!!

If you want the best of both worlds then book a grand suite, this will let you have access to the Coastal Kitchen and the Suite Sun Deck (which is not shown in this video). The suite sun deck area is very quiet and not crowded.

Short cruises are cool and everyone knows you can't cover any Oasis class ship in 3 or 4 days. We sail Utopia in a few days and I appreciate the review but it seems to unbiased.
Giovanni’s did not think there patio seating very well. I agree with her, it’s a bit weird to sit in certain seats where if someone comes onto their balcony you’ll both be starring at each other. It’s awkward seating because you are very close, so close you could eat together. I never felt Central Park was anything like Central Park in NY. As far as Boardwalk, you can’t expect to not hear the music. It’s a ship and that’s what gets the vibes going. We just got off this ship and everyone enjoyed the ship. They had an area for everyone, whether you are a party person or want something more laid back. The main dining, the food had ZERO flavor. The speciality restaurants, really good. I would say it’s way too short to fit everything into a weekend, which is why many are doing back to back. I personally wouldn’t do back to back on this ship. For that cost I rather choose a longer sailing going to multiple different ports.

I'm not an alcoholic so I didn't get the drink package but I do enjoy a few beers. The Utopia charges $10 for a 12oz Miller lite! They charged $3 for a bag to put the $120 worth of gifts that my wife purchased in the gift shop. Oh yeah, they charge you $2.50 for a small bag of popcorn outside the aqua show. Nickel and dime you to death!
It seems like you all don’t enjoy the high energy party vibes. If Celebrity Cruise Line is your point of comparison, it’s like comparing apples and oranges. I think your critiques are a bit biased. Celebrity definitely is a quieter cruise. You both should stick with Celebrity.
I agree with you! Doesn't sound like Royal is their vibe. Stick to their Celebrity line of ships for a more laid back relaxed vibe. Royal always markets Utopia as the biggest party/short getaway. My hubby and I are in mid 50's and we love all the party Royal has to offer, but we enjoy our downtime and quiet areas too. There are quiet areas and busy areas on all Royal ships. Don't get on a ship with thousands of others and not expect a crowds, noise, or alot going on here or there. Plus, there are tons of food options free and paid just have to book the paid ones (preferable in advance). Going back on Utopia 3 more times this fall and can't wait.

You only ate chicken and turkey. So the food wasn't to your liking. I enjoyed all the food options. As for it being a parry ship there was some quite spots.

Most of these ships are party ships. I haven’t been on one that isn’t accept for when carnival had the Holland america line of ships (now retired) that was much older crowd. Real quiet cruise. As a seasoned cruiser, In my experience carnival goes more overboard with the partying. I have selective sight and hearing so I just ignore people and enjoy myself. I don’t drink so I avoid the loud drunken passengers and there are plenty of places to go. I always have a balcony with an ocean view so if worse comes to worst I can retreat there. I don’t recommend any of these types of ships if you have an issue with party goers. RC advertised this as “the biggest weekend ever” that should be a red flag for more chill people. I think the ritz Carleton is a better option for the more conservation cruiser. You will never find sophistication on a royal carribean or carnival, or any ship like them because they are family cruise ships. Again, a yacht cruise is much better. I will be sailing the utopia with my daughters. We do RC once a year. This will be my third cruise with them, I’ve been on so many that all these ships are really starting to look the same to me. Lol Nice but nothing spectacular to see I’m just sailing the utopia because it’s a brand new ship. We always have a great time though. After this one my next cruise will be to Europe on the ritz. San tropez and Monaco. It will be my second yacht cruise that is definitely the experience you want. Way More expensive but worth every dime

celebrity is good for you guys, you like music but not the party vibe. they advertise this ship; as the ultimate weekend, not the ultimate lay around ship. it still lacks for me, activities with crew and the same boring music. maybe princess is good for you also. hopefully they will extend this ship to 3-5 night cruises for the price.
You are incredibly negative about everything. It's a cruise people that want a balcony for the boardwalk don't care about privacy and they defiantly don't need you to feel sorry for them. Me and 3 friends are sailing this Friday, 9/6. How quick can we get off the ship on Monday? My friend has a 12p flight at MCO.
Disembarkation typically begins around 7 AM and ends around 10 AM.

I will be sailing the utopia with my daughters. We do RC once a year. This will be my third cruise with them, I’ve been on so many that all these ships are really starting to look the same to me. Lol Nice but nothing spectacular to see I’m just sailing the utopia because it’s a brand new ship. We always have a great time though. After this one my next cruise will be to Europe on the ritz. San tropez and Monaco. It will be my second yacht cruise that is definitely the experience you want. Way More expensive but worth every dime

So your upset bc they don’t have just chicken options no one just eats chicken this cruise caters to a lot of peoples taste buds. I have never been on a cruise but this is the first video that pissed me off bc you really had so much negative stuff to say like they are only supposed to cater to you and i normally don’t comment on you tube videos but this was very misleading.
We didn’t mean to upset you or anyone by giving our honest personal experience and opinion. We have been on over 10 cruises and have experienced much better than what Utopia offers and it is clearly not a ship for us.

celebrity is good for you guys, you like music but not the party vibe. they advertise this ship; as the ultimate weekend, not the ultimate lay around ship. it still lacks for me, activities with crew and the same boring music. maybe princess is good for you also. hopefully they will extend this ship to 3-5 night cruises for the price.

Massive Monster Ships on short cruises still don't make sense. For the money you pay; those ships should ha minimum 5 day sailings.
We agree! We think 5 day cruises hit the sweet spot.
Some people only want to do a 4 night 5 day cruise. We go next weekend. We didn't want a 7 day cruise.

You are incredibly negative about everything. It's a cruise people that want a balcony for the boardwalk don't care about privacy and they defiantly don't need you to feel sorry for them. Have you ever eaten outside at a restaurant in a city? It's loud and cars honk horns and play loud music it's no different. Good video but your review needs work even if you don't like things.
