Android tv boxes are very under rated devices the amount of ways they can be used ..from media centres to watching world wide channels HD movies ..helpful in cutting cord and dish ..to convert into a gaming console it's remarkable ..I just love these devices I have many of them

Hi, i just bought the H96 max x2. On my box,connected through 5GHz i got 94Mps. Ive got a fiber connection of 100Mbs.
Used speedtest app, wifi works great for me.
Love this box, only problem i found was when i tried to login to GoogleApp store though the home screen widget it kept returning to the home screen.
Went into apps and opened Google App Store there, and no problems at all.

This is probably one of the prettiest TV boxes I've seen.
Quite powerful android TV box by H96. The 4 K videos run really well 👍
I would appreciate if you'd always do Ethernet tests in the future. Here's why: This box looks very promising when you show all those 4K tests, but If you want to play 4K video content via LAN port, you can't. Most 4K movies people want to play have a bitrate of 60Mbit. This box handle only 45Mbit, which would cause serious lag which makes watching high bitrate movies unenjoyable.
My top speed is 50 but realistically most devices score between 45-47mbps.
Actually when it comes to streaming out of any Android Box, the best solution is to use an Ethernet cable.
Yes etherney is always the best.
of course. but its 2019, not everyone wants to run an ethernet cable across their house.. wifi is usually acceptable for the average streaming user. and these boxes missed the mark bigtime in that department :(

If you use your box primarily for live tv, movies and TH-cam wouldn’t most decent boxes work just as well as the top rated ones? I’m not a gamer..or downloader..just want optimum iptv/movie experience.
Looks like a great device with great spec,but you are correct,it was let down by poor wifi speed. It would definitely be worth buying tho as long as you were to wire it in.

Great review. I was never a fan of that home screen, but the limitations of 100Mb Lan and poor wi-fi rules it out. Pity as the other specs are amazing for the price!

Launchers have not worked well since nougat and same still applies. I don't recommend launchers.

Thank you for doing these reviews. I am trying to decide which box to go with,but there's so many. I have a question for you. In your specs section it list the GPU: MALI G31, but I clicked the link for the 32GB and 64GB model and the specs listed there is GPU: ARM Dvalin MP2 GPU. Why is there a difference? or are these two GPUs the same?

Hi Chigz were you testing wifi on the 5G band?
Yes tested both bands.
I watch review of this box where 5G band have max speed, 2.4G have cca 70% of max speed and cable have only 20%. So, is it possible that they don't put same components in all boxes?

wish i saw this review before ordering mine! wifi is horrible and i somehow overlooked it having no gigabit ethernet.
Poor wifi reception and weak wifi antenna makes this box a complete no-no for me. Even my GBox that is about 3 years old still has a good wifi reception. What were they thinking about before releasing? Didn't they test out the wifi reception on it? Very disappointing for such a box with other solid specs😳

Yes it's a weak, works better if you can get closer to the router.
Ive been having alot of problems with mine buffering. The shows play for 15 seconds and then it buffers. Do i need extra memory?

Another S905X2, another one without screen mirroring by default. Seems the box manufacturers are increasingly dropping this feature. Again, I also note that its only a 100mb Lan port (II'm wondering if this is a feature of these S905X2 boxes....). Other than that, the box seems to perform pretty well apart from the wifi.... hopefully there will be a firmware fix for that!.
So 45mbps is actually good for wired Ethernet connection? I've been stressing cuz I have 300 mbps internet service which gives me 200-450+ dl speeds on my s9+ but on android box the max I ever got was 91 mbps.
If 45 mbps is good then weak wifi antenna isnt a dealbreaker for people like me who actually prefer Ethernet.

Hi, I am planning on buying this and connect to an external touch monitor to run games and apps. How does the box work with external touch screens? I have come across other android boxes on amazon that does not work at all with external touch monitors (I would have to move the mouse cursor on screen to use the touch and there was no way to remove/hide mouse cursor functionality). Chigz brother I've bought this tv box in having some issues with Bluetooth and WiFi including a little malfunctioning. Are there chances that it might be solved by factory setting the device or flashing it??

Try doing a factory reset from settings, to remove any possible software bugs.
I have tried factory reset and even flash a newer firmware,but still random freezing and apps crashing. Cpu load goes up and down to 100% in idle. Is there a good app to see what processes is triggering cpu load?

Hello, I purchased this box H96 Max 4/64 and for whatever reason I am unable to download any launchers for it. (ATV, NOVA, PIXEL, etc.) Every source I try from Google Play Store, Aptoid, APK Time to loading directly from USB. I always get “There was a problem parsing the package” error. All other APK’s download and install without error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Launchers are not supported in most TV boxes there are compatibility issues.

USB WiFi antennas do not work on android tv boxes.
Between the new chromecast and the Mi Box/ Mi Box S, which one should I get? It's for my parents to install it on a "dumb" TV, mostly to watch content from those TV apps on the play store.

thank you for this review. disappointed with wifi but since i have 20mbps connection, i think that will not be a disadvantage for me. maybe we can connect external antenna is that possible? also i would suggest you tell during reviews that miracast can be done with 3rd party apps. you can try yourself before you make this remark, there are 3rd part receiver apps on play store which will receive google cast from your phone. and it will work on any android device. great review and you told me i should not cancel my order, this will be my first tv box. one question i have, which game controller do you use or recommend? thank you :)

if you go to kodi forums they will tell you to stay away from rockchip and allwinner due to sparse support. the one you mentioned has rockchip soc, the one review has amlogic soc so support is expected to be better.

Super disappointed I can't load ATV Launcher on this box. Do you know of a decent launcher that will run on this box? The remote control turns the box off but will not turn it back on even inches away.
100mb lan is a let down to be honest. But still ok for the price👍👍
I don't understand why these companies cant do the 1000, without good Ethernet and Wi-Fi these boxes are useless for streaming
the launch stops and lot and you can change the launcher to anything but Hal and even after selecting Hal has home always it will still ask every time
I have a Zoomtak T8plus1...My internet speed is 150 mps but for some reason my box speed tests give me consistent numbers over 200..sometimes as high as 270. It makes me happy..is this unusual?

Try and upgrade the firmware to the one from 20190114. I have a bit better wireless performance after upgrading and nothing has crashed for now. If it doesn't work out for you, purchase a WiFi repeater. They're not so expensive and make quite a bit of difference. I did the upgrade with a USB A to USB A cable from PC. Keep in mind that a firmware flash will erase all data you have on the box.

Jovan T. See 9:24, his chart says no, but it depends on what you want, because cpu and storage wise it is better, so good for gaming, but it doesn’t have Android TV, so no Netflix in HD or Miracast and Airplay.

Out of the two, h96 max x2. But I'd consider getting the h96 pro with the s912 amlogic cpu. It's the fastest of them all.

I have one of this for a few weeks, happy for now. One thing I don't know is why sometimes makes a "ding-dong" when I'm watching something (doesn't matter if it's iptv, a serie or a youtube video). It even lower the volume of what I'm watching. Anyone can help me? Thanks

Custom launchers are a little hit and miss, they have not worked well since Nougat and the same with Oreo.
