I made a slightly simplified version of your recipe (basic meatloaf and no Jack Daniels) the other day and my wife and I ate the whole thing by ourselves- and it was a BIG meatloaf, lol! I love Pepper Jack Cheese, and the cheese basin- or "cheese boat" (as I called it) was a great idea. I got a bit anxious to get my thumbnail photo (lol) and didn't wait quite long enough for that cheese to firm up, but otherwise it was amazing! My video is posting next week. Thanks for another great recipe!
fun to see this because its allmost the same as i make my burgers (more like mini meatloafs). i just add a little brown sugar to the meat because my wife is a real sweettooth
I did this recipe but without the alcohol. It was delicious but it reached the temperature in about 2 1/2 hours. Although I loved the recipe, I was wondering if I should have used something to replace the Jack Daniels. Thanks
OMG the most amazing flavors . I found your recipe here last summer and have made it several times , doing so again this weekend. My Hubby acts as though I made some gourmet meal and ate left overs everyday the whole week for lunch. Truly #! flavors and the smokey flavors
I’m gonna try this BUT I’m not going to sauce it until it’s been on the smoker for an hour then brush the sauce on at the 1 hour mark then sauce again at the 2 hour mark and then sauce again at the 3 hour mark and the finished product should be even better at the 4hour completion mark.
If you freeze the meatloaf for about 4 hours then smoke it, it will hold its shape and you can get bark on all sides. You don't have to smoke it on a pan
Not really. It's not a very good offset so it's really hard to keep control of the cook. I'll be getting a good one soon and will do lots of videos with it!
Hey Susie & Todd, This isn’t meat loaf related but breakfast related. I have two children 9 & 6. What are some recipes or meals you’ve made for your kids that they enjoyed. I’m trying to add more things besides eggs, cereal, waffles/pancakes. Any advice would be appreciated.
You could use a cola of some sort. If you're worried about the alcohol content, all of the alcohol will actually cook out of the food just leaving behind the flavor.
I bet it tastes great but this looks way too wet and mushy. Proper meatloaf should hold up to slicing and then you can even griddle it for extra flavour.
Years ago, Justin Wilson had a cooking show, and would add wine to just about everything, including himself. I have cooked using different alcohols, depending on what I’m cooking, and the alcohol cooks away or evaporates, so there is actually no alcohol in the food, just flavor.
I just made this for the first time and it is amazing! Love your channel and recipes and so do my neighbors❤
I used this recipes as a start, I did t stuff this one but overall, AMAZING!
Made this Sunday to christen my new smoker and now it's in the rotation!
Where can I score that grill pan?

This looks delish! Would you mind sharing some info on the slatted grill pan? Grateful for you and all you do to inspire us to cook!
Your channel makes a better cook than I really am!
I just made this meatloaf today(I followed your recipe to the T) Bar none the best meatloaf I had ever made TY Hey Grill!!!
Nice job . I have made bbq Meatloaf, but never with the cheese it. Looks awesome. Great cook Thanks for sharing.
Words don't explain how amazing this is. First time and many more to come.
Made a smoked meatloaf last week that was edible, but not great. Next time, I'll try this recipe (with a few substitutions for food sensitivities).

Suzie I used Sherry instead cause I had that in the cupboard. We don’t drink Whiskey, can’t wait to try, your sauce however is delicious
I am making this tonight! Not gonna do the Jack Daniels but everything else!! Looks delicious
I can't even begin to count how many times I have made this!! It is ABSOLUTELY delicious!!
What temperature you should set it on
This is one of my favorite recipes my family loves it
I added diced jalapeños to mine it was so good 👏🏻
Omg. That looks awesome Gotta try this.
I made this, but I substituted Sherry for the Whiskey cause we don’t keep Whiskey in the house, it was so delicious thanks so much
Nice job! This Saturday will be doing 1lb Full blood mixed with 2 lbs of my freezer beef. First time with this combo, lets see...
You had me at cheese. Can’t wait to try this on my next weekend off!
Might try mixing in some Jack Daniels bourbon barrel pellets with the hickory or oak pellets to add more bourbon flavor.
It’s like the world’s largest cheeseburger patty!!!! Yum!
Making it now! Can't wait to try some!
I think I'm going to add this to my menu this weekend! Thank you!
Susie, can I use a combination of sausage/pork along with hamburger meat as opposed to all hamburger meat?
Sure!!
Looks amazing!
How do you sanitize your wood cutting boards?
Love it Susie! Gonna have to try it!
I will be making a version of this this weekend
That’s 2 for 2, outa the park!
First the beef jerky now this! Tried that Jacked up Meatloaf, just amazing!
Try the smoked mac and cheese, amazing!
that is a keeper recipe for sure. excellence!

That squishing sound !

Great job what is the pepper jack cheese, haven’t heard of it before as I’m in Australia
Pepper Jack is Monterey Jack with small bits of pepper in it. Monterey Jack is a white, semi-hard American cheese.
@@Kriterian thankyou , I lll have to see if I can get this in Adelaide
This looks so amazing! Lets go!
I say "bloop" too when I plunk ground meat into a bowl. Must be a universal thing. This will be my next meat loaf.
Hi Susie! Where can I find the grill tray you had meatloaf on?
Unfortunately they don't make it anymore. There are a lot of similar ones out there on the internet though!
@@Heygrillhey
Thank you!
Fantastic, I mean Increable..cheers to ya
Lets Get Started !
Do you have any videos on your offset smoker?
Not really. It's not a very good offset so it's really hard to keep control of the cook. I'll be getting a good one soon and will do lots of videos with it!
@@Heygrillhey Awesome I love to see people run backyard sized offsets
@@Heygrillhey I was surprised to see such a lower end smoker. What are you getting?
Definitely not my Mama's Meatloaf. Lol.😁. Nicely Done. Thanks for sharing. 😎.
The only suggestion I’d throw in there is to wait until you mix everything else and add the breadcrumbs last so they don’t steal any flavor
What temp did you cook at
225 F
What should I serve with meatloaf?
If I may... 2 changes...
1: if possible, use smoked pepper jack cheese
2: mesquite all the way!!!!!

Looks delicious!! I could be wrong but I don't think you have done a smoked queso dip video.... *hint hint* 🧀🌶🐷
It's on my list!
Can I make a half a batch
For sure!
OMG so delish!!! Plus Susie so gorgeous 🤩😗🥰
What smoke level?
I always leave mine all the way up.
Can I swap out the Jack Daniels for anything?
Any bourbon will probably work well! Rum may even be good!
@@Heygrillhey Haha sweet! but any non-alcohol? 😂
You could use a cola of some sort. If you're worried about the alcohol content, all of the alcohol will actually cook out of the food just leaving behind the flavor.

Only thing missing was the bacon on top:)
I do a similar meatloaf, but I use smoked cheddar cheese, and I always add some cooked bacon strips into the centre along with the cheese.
I used jack Daniels bbq sauce does that count 😂
I recently cooked smoked meat loaf on my pellet grill. It turned out great. Mine firmed up which is how I liked it. Yours looked too mushy to me.
Isn't this the lady who was on bbq brawl?
A Jucy Lucy meatloaf?
🤤
I pulled it too late but still amazing just not as juicy
I pulled it too late
link to recipe is 404, as in gone.. kaput.. nyet.. nada 😒
well it's back.. lol
First? Really?
Going to have to try this. I’m sure I won’t screw up ANOTHER smoked meatloaf. Right?
What is your opinion about cooking with alcohol when religion councels you not to partake of it?
It's all for flavor. All of the alcohol cooks out so none is left in the food.
I was surprised to to alcohol.
Hope you don't drink it.
What else would you do with it? Drink a little, cook a little... great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Seems to be a lot of bible thumpers watching this girl. I'm sure with the purest of thoughts.....

Not much of an alcohol person. Does this require Jack Daniels?
No. Apple juice can be subbed.
Thanks.
