@@FateUnbound i lived in Yuma for 23 years( where i wentbto college) and taught there. Then lived in Phoenix for 2 years. I think the Saguaro Desert State park is the best. Alot of movies( westerns) and tv shows habe been filmed there. It is protected and very beautiful. At this time of year its pretty nice but towards the end of May I wouldnt recommend it, TOO hot!! You could do Flagstaff area then, REALLY nice there at that time of the year! There are some nice BLM places outside Yuma in the winter and spring. One in particular is by the Imperial Dam near YPG Very lush foliage and nice hiking. My Geology class went there and hiked and it was a hoot!

Your hike was amazing!!! Thank you for all your hard work putting this together. Your hairstyle is super cute on you! Hope you get to see the flowers blooming soon!
I loved this video and you inspired us to hike this trail when we go to AZ next week. We are getting our trailer after our trip and we really enjoy you guys and your videos. You taught us a lot. We are just getting into youtube ourselves because we want to document our journey into minimalism and living nomadic. Thanks so much for what you do!
Funny enough, she gobbles all her food no matter what time it is or if she was recently fed. If we feed her she gobbles it. If we feed her again an hour later she'll gobble it.... then promptly throw up haha. She has a very sensitive stomach but she gobbles anyway
Those dry little cactus clumps that blow around are called "Jumping Cactus" because they are attracted to static electricity. So they will actually jump onto you. :)
Good videos and great filming with your drone! Love the places you go to and how you take your time explaining about the vegetation. You both seem really natural and not fake sounding like others I've watched.
Beautiful! It's been extra rainy this winter and greener than normal in the Phoenix area desert. A fine tooth comb is good for pulling out the cholla. Many hikers around here keep them and/or tweezers in their first aid kits. Thankfully, I've never needed to use one. Ouch!
We love hiking the Butcher Jones trail...Great views and not too difficult. We winter at an RV park in Gold canyon and enjoy exploring the trails around the area. Glad you found this trail. I enjoy your videos. Thank you

If I could do it all over again we would hit the road like the two of you. We were watching your video and enjoying the weather that you guys are in, in Arizona, while we still gave three feet of snow on the ground in Maine! Be safe and keep the videos coming !!
If you want to keep scorpions away from your camp; soak down some old burlap and place it around your camp well away from were you are. Be carful when retrieving your burlap; use a long pole or long stick. We used this method when we camped at Lake Powell on the beach.
Another amazing video! I want to thank you and David for the videos, I look forward to seeing them as they come out and, making sure I come to the live stream when all possible.
Jenni, great new look! I bet the pixie cut is so easy to handle on the road. I couldn't do that with my curls unless I wanted to look like a poodle caught in a rainstorm. Haha. Keep on rocking it. Loved the drone footage at the beginning and I bet the no light pollution out there is so peaceful. Poor Sweetie's paws though; we are thinking of doggie boots before we even leave. I doubt our boys would wear them though.

It took us 2 hours to get back to this site and it's only a half mile or so long! VERY slow going hahahahaha! But what is this lifestyle without a little adventure?! We hope you enjoy your first trip of the year Chris!
Too funny about the pixie cut yesterday I was looking for that video with you showing off the new cut and couldn't find it I was thinking did I imagine that. Lol
about that, while living in the mountains we put a camouflaged tarp over our camping area and we had so many helicopters fly very close to our site many times.
As far as the scorpions go, we live a block from the desert (North Scottsdale) and get them in our house all summer long. For 18 years running now. So far, haven't been stung though. We have to use a flashlight to use the bathroom at night since that's when they feed. The people I know that have been stung have had one drop onto them from the ceiling, while in bed. That would keep you awake at night for a while after that. BTW, that cut looks good on you Jenni.

This was beautiful footage. I have never been to Arizona or the desert out west either for that matter. But from what I read on an instagram post, where a youtuber was laying on a blanket with her daughter taking photos and they were advised to be careful this time of year because everything is waking up and the rattlers and scorpions are everywhere. Idk. Just what I read. I just listened to the entire Harry Potter series for the first time on Audible last year, and watched all the movies last fall when they were doing a marathon of all of them on TV. I recorded them all. The books were so much better though. As usual. You guys should get an audible subscription. They are great for traveling. You two can listen to books while you. Yeah, I also noticed Sweet Jenni's 👩 new or different glasses 👓, EXTREMELY benefiting to your darlin sweet little face Sweet Jenni 👩!!! Looking GORGEOUS as usual!!! 😉😄😊😍😚😙❤ Auntie Didi 👵
Haircut is so cute on you. Watch out picking up anything in scorpion country. They will hide almost anywhere. I live in Central Texas, and some years we have huge numbers of scorpions. When I was stung, it made a huge lump and burned and ached for about a week.
I went through Flagstaff on the way to the grand canyon about 5 years ago it was the middle of May and it snowed about 8 inches the night before, when I was flying into Phoenix I couldn't figure out what all the white was on the ground, it was first time flying out west and I heard there was salt flats and I thought it was that but Nope it was snow. You see I come from the east coast where the elevation is 500 ft above sea level so really never put much thought into the weather change when going up in elevation, never had too.
You guys are just so cute. Love the haircut. What a great location. Thanks for taking us off the beaten path with you. P.s. that quilt on your bed? Did some one make that for you?
Need the taco seasoning from the store to zest up the hamburger after browning and draining. Refried beans. Red onion. Lettuce. Tomato. Shredded cheese. Sour cream. Jalepeno slices, deli or real. Salsa. Excellente!
Absolutely love Sweetie! We are hitting the road full-time in a motorhome in about 18 months. We were strongly wanting to get a large dog - Rotweiller, Bullmastiff, Old English Sheep Dog, etc. - but we already have our tow car ... a Fiat 500c Abarth, and a large dog will not fit.
I love the Harry Potter movies. I have seen the series probably 7 times. I have watched the Bourne series over 30 times. No kidding. Very big movie buff camping.
Wow! Beautiful video of your hike! You guys just keep getting better with the camera. Will you be doing a site review on your camp area? I love it! Thanks for another wonderful video. Happy travels.
having a chat at the cove and you can see that sun burn kicking in did your shoulders got a bit red, enjoy your movies and dinner take care hug sweety for me chow
They were red from a previous hike, I had a ton of sunscreen on during this hike and didn't get any worse. I thoroughly learned my lesson from hiking without it last time
Your pooch is gorgeous, and so well-behaved! I hope she doesn't have anymore run-ins with cacti!! Trail may be an 'easy' hike, but when I manage to get my rig, I'll be on the road with my 81-year-old mother in law, who uses a mobility scooter for any walking farther than from the parking lot into a store. I will go on some trails myself, but will feel bad leaving her behind in the RV all the time, so I'm looking for handicapped-accessible trails, wide and flat enough for a wheelchair or electric scooter like hers. Pavement not a requirment, but dirt would need to be hard-packed... As for me, yes, you are seeing lovely flowers and a lake, but I'm more of a mountains and forests kind of gal; I like trees and the shade they provide. ;-) But what a boring world it would be if everyone liked only all the same things!
There is a nice trail in the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park in Northern California on the coast and the path is very hard packed and well maintained and is ADA accessible so it'd be perfect for the two of you. They actually have a few ADA accessible trails there, I'd check it out if I were you 😊
Oh, yes; I visited that park many moons ago with my kids on one of the tent-camping trips we used to take. But that was back in the mid 1980s, so I have no real recollection of trail types/conditions, as back then, I was as fit as the proverbial fiddle, and it didn't matter... In fact, I've probably been there in my own childhood as well; California native, and my dad loved to go on camping trips all up and down the state! ;-) Fond memories!
Like I tell everyone when they come to AZ, leave those pretty little cacti be. They are usually hiding barbed thorns, stingers or fangs of some sort. Those bark scorpions' sting is about like a bee. Hurts, but no biggie.
Also" I am so so soooo glad that other people see the beauty of the desert!!
Heck yeah it is gorgeous here!

They
are usually hiding barbed thorns, stingers or fangs of some sort.
Those bark scorpions' sting is about like a bee. Hurts, but no biggie.
