Best part about that last win... I was there! :D and he beat my dad's favorite driver in JJ to do it! man I remember screaming my head off as a kid at that race. still to this day my favorite race i've ever been too!
Gordon's 2005 Talladega pepsi car and dale Earnhardt jr 's 2001 Budweiser baseball car he won at Daytona in pepsi 400may have been the strongest plate cars I ve ever seen in a race those cars could hold off three or four cars coming at them and didn't need drafting help at all
The old commentators were so good. That first race, they were just in a straight line, nothing happening, but Ken, Ned and Buddy made it sound so exciting.
Yea that was the last gen 4 cars before those shitty car of tomorrow crap. Jeff again had the best car in those restrictor plate races and led 70 plus laps. It was a fun 🤩 race to watch and a end of a great car era.🥺
@@jerradguillory7909 well, it meant more then that, that race took place the day after my dad's funeral, in which he died a couple days after Jeff tied Earnhardt in wins, that win that sunday cheered me up big time
Isaiah Mccray Compared to the 1995-1999 seasons, Jeff Gordon's success in 2000 was uncharacteristically sedate. He only won a total of 3 races in 2000 after 5 straight seasons of at least 7 wins. He won 7 times in 1995, 10 times in 1996, 10 times in 1997, 13 times in 1998, and 7 times in 1999. During each of those seasons, Jeff would often get his first win within the first three races, but it took him 9 races to win his first in 2000.
Yeah, had NASCAR stuck to the original championship format as supposed to the Chase format they run now, many say that Jeff Gordon would have 7 championships alongside Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt.
I was the fan that designed that Pepsi paint scheme for the Oct 2007 race !!
That's my favorite paint scheme of ALL TIME, are you seriously the guy who designed it??!
@@JTeam45 Not the guy but the girl. I also have my own diecast signed by Jeff. Thanks
Are you Debra...
@@mattcolarossi9221 Yes that's me !!
FiveCar5 you designed an awesome scheme
That last talladega win was my personal favorite paint scheme of Gordon’s ever.

Toss in Juniors car from the 2002 Aaron’s 499. That was his most dominating win at Talladega. That car could go anywhere.
The 05 car was so damn strong, strongest superspeedway car I have ever seen.
Tony Stewart led even more laps in the Pepsi 400 that year, led all but 9.
@@whoasked9500 Tony couldn't pass on his own like Jeff could
04 dale jr?

Masters of Talladega:
Dale Earnhardt
Jeff Gordon
Dale Earnhardt Jr
Brad Keselowski
Don't forget about Tony Stewart
I was at that race Tony did a great job of pushing jeff on the last lap without crashing him as Gordon fan I am thankful to tony
Logano
Davey Allison, three wins in only six years of racing.
Tony gonna need more than just 1 'dega win to be allowed to sit at the table@@AlexJeezyDaSnowmanRappa07
I've never seen a superspeedway car as strong as that talladega 2005 car. Was so damn strong!
The Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, was the best car he ever had. Last engine touched by Randy?
Definitely the strongest plate car Jeff ever had. JR has some real fast cars from 01-04. That fall 04 dega Budweiser car was comparable.
Tony Stewart led all but 9 laps in the Pepsi 400 in 2005.
YEAH YOUR RIGHT. I BELIEVE MY GUYS PLATE HAD A LITTLE BIGGER HOLES THAN EVERYONE ELSE.
The spring race in 2007 holds a special place in my heart
See it win with the Pepsi Car beating to Jimmie Johnson was amazing

Throwing stuff at Jeff, then he wins BOTH Dega races that year. Oopsie, looks like they caused their own bad karma. They ain't real fans anyway.
Gordon won the 04 spring race when shit was thrown at his car, Jr won the fall race. Jeff swept Dega in 07.
Back when NASCAR on abc was good
Jeff won The Spring 2004 race Fair and Square

ALCTheBlade wow you still have to be pretty darn good to call 9 races a winless streak he was so dominant back then.

I miss these days of nascar
That 2007 car is arguably the most dominate car in nascar history not named t-rex
Jeff gordons win in 2004 was the cause of the green-white-checkered restarts
Jeff Gordon wanted more wins at Talladega than 6
DW was such a Gordon hater.. "Oh this could be trouble for the 24!" That Pepsi care was always a beast.
DW later said that he considers Gordon the GOAT of Nascar

Jeff Gordon didn't win that 04 dega spring race jr did that was a really bad call
BULLSHIT was a great call. Go throw some beer on yourself and piss off!
Gordon was in the lead and won fair and square, it's just that NASCAR took way too long to clean up a simple mess.
