    Cosco will impact the Warehouse and other furniture or toy stores but probably not supermarkets, I think. As you pointed out, our houses don't really allow for bulk buying unless you repurpose the garage. Also, unless the products are unprocessed, I'm not sure I'd want to eat them. American food is so full of poisons and chemicals that are banned elsewhere around the world that I would treat US processed foods with great suspicion.

      We spent 5 weeks in NZ over Christmas into the new year.
      I lost weight and felt great due to eating whole food and chemical free meat.
      Now that we’ve been back in the USA several months my spouse commented how sluggish and unhealthy we feel.

    Many NZ houses do have basements, but the basement is above ground with the house on top. We live in a house like that. We don't build underground 'cellars' as we'd call them because of the climate and generally wet ground conditions and the problems that causes.

    I think 🤔 Costco will do well in New Zealand 🇳🇿. I used to shop at one in Portland Oregon and still have a pair of Sorrel snow boots I bought from them. Do I think it’s going to knock out a few local business’s? Possibly, once they allow e-commerce purchasing. But I don’t think they will open many stores here. Due to our small population. Maybe they will open one in Christchurch and possibly Palmerston North. With the Palmerston North store acting as a destination store for people to go to from Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Whanganui, New Plymouth and be a hub for internet sales.

    Before Costco in NZ we used Gilmore's cash and carry or membership for bulk buying. It was more catered towards businesses but we used it for large parties and gatherings.

    I think Costco will do well in "blue collar" areas. I doubt many housewives from Parnell and Herne Bay are shopping there.

    Dang if you haven't brightened up my week yet again! Your enthusiasm is contagious Morgan!
    What's extra special about this clip is that we get to see you out of the house and that's refreshing. Plus o' lordy we got a peek at your usually very hidden body parts - yes, your legs and feet!! Would love to see you move around more in your vids just for a bit of action. Your hands and head can only do so much! Haha! (Or lol to you young people.) Big hi to your main man and Mr Barkley. ;)

    If Costco New Zealand doesn't knock out local small businesses, all the other shopping malls would.

    To me Costco will be just another petrol station, low prices to start and then bring in discount against "if you find the same competitors item, we'll lower ours by 10% -15%" just as Bunnings did, competitive petrol stations were just a farce an overnight scam. Kiwis pay so much at the check out even if it is a NZ product - the argument is we pay the export price, price for our meat and dairy products, essentials plus GST is unforgiveable. I can understand imported products, but home grown then add in in big corporates' ideology of the bottom line extreme profit. The likes of Costco will offer products, for the while, what we should be paying, even lower and yet they will still make a substantial profit.

    Costco has been here in Australia for years so all the goods in Costco nz could be getting imported from Australia cutting on costs. that's just my point of view. who knows i could be wrong but then again, I don't give a f&$@ 😆😆😆just kidding?

      Wendys already exist in New Zealand. The drink sizes be careful what size order, large is massive. I prefer Carls Junior though.

    • @Andy_M986
      @Andy_M986 ปีที่แล้ว

      Carl's Jr is over rated,went with mum to the Henderson store last time I was home, hasn't eaten all day,I love fast food,and travelled to many countries to eat burgers. American burgers aren't all that good anyway,there are some awesome ones around,but ya gotta travel for it again. Carl's seemed very greasy and fattening,meaning greasy.

      @@lornaamaru3732 did your local fish and chip shops not do onion rings? They've always been available in Dunedin chippies since the 80s and probably long before.
