what i think is that fanatics needs to figure out a way to not charge $3000 for a box of cards with only $50 of value. i don’t need to see sticker autos of rajon rondo in cards that average out costing $450 a piece.

I'm a Topps Chrome BB fan. However, the pre-sell by Blowout for 2021 was $350. Now? $160. Probably due to overproduction and the rookie class. What are Topps/Fanatics wanting to charge for boxes? Will there still be hobby and retail? If not? Will anyone be willing to pay 4 - 5 - 8(?) hundred bucks a box? Time will tell. A few years ago, I paid 95 bucks for a hobby box of chrome @ my LCS. I miss those days. ☹

Sounds good at first but we all know monopiles are bad. A little too much control over the whole sport card market in this day kinda scares me . Even in the 80's, the sports licensing agencies saw that more companies were better and look what great cards were produced because of it, Upper Deck, Fleer and Donruss. I would have rather seen Panini's exclusive contract with the NBA and NFL expire and then open the licensing up. Yes there would be back to of a junk wax era again but that's the fun part and the high dollar products would probably thrive because of the lower end products bring in the younger and casual collectors again.

The long term health of the product relies on consumer faith and retained value. They make more money in the short term, but if people realize there are a million of every card then the cards have overwatered the market and will maintain no value.

I'm kinda feeling sad about the whole thing.. Congratulations to Fanatics of course that goes unsaid. I'm going to be 63 in July. I've been somewhat of a collector for 50 odd years. Working 70+ hour's a week didn't give me a lot time to do much with my cards. I've actually never sent one card in to get graded. Until recently I hadn't even organized them and certainly didn't use my off time for nothing less important than my kid's. I lost my son to an overdose in 2002. He had just turned 22. I've worked very hard my entire life. A man's job starting at 8yrs old. I really enjoy watching Sports Card Investorand thank you for always having an exciting show and putting so much energy into it. I feel a bit lost though and would like to ask you what's a good method of organization I might be able to use that would...or could present or display...? idk, more than 30,000 card's or so? I'm disabled from an accident that occurred in August 2001. Seems all those years of breaking down my body are not fixin on easing up and what I really want to do is try to sell whatever I have time for and leave the money to my daughter Amy. I'm not the complaining kind I'm just a decent hard working God fearing christian man and looking for any advice you're able and willing to offer. We lost her momma in 2008 from diabetes. Not yet 40 years old. God bless and congratulations to you and yours as well. Lawrence S.

I’m pretty sure the Star Wars license with Topps doesn’t expire for at least a few more years

I hope they do away with the familiar "regurgitated" sets that they put little effort into every year. How about putting in some effort and coming out with some new designs!?

It's awesome news. Glad it ends the no man's land for baseball etc, but basketball and football are still risking the panini overprint for a bit.

This means nothing will change. Fanatics just wants to sell overpriced boxes with mostly garbage inside them. The only people foolish enough to "crack" these boxes are gambling addicts, foolish kids, or rich people who knowingly blow their money seeking a rare Dopamine fix. The only good thing is modern NFT's and boxes get young people into the hobby----and many of the young people will get educated about the superior investment returns of vintage.
