The bike unfortunately is not mine, It was a free demo. I got to ride a 2011 GT Distortion 2.0 for an hour or so. What a bike!

Start with finding where there are trails close to your house. Then get a used mountain bike. You could start with a Hardtail (no rear suspensions) those are always very cheap. You can find new ones under 400 bucks. If you like it, get some more experience and money and then upgrade. Full Suspensions make a world of difference. But often is a matter of preference. I'm a beginner myself and I've loved every minute of it. Good luck!

Nice man, I was just there this past monday! Looking at this video, it seems like the vegetation has not been trimmed at all! Their is so much more trees, and vegetation! Anyways, check out my jump from there! I may have videos of the trail up!
