Bill killer shootout never could find a stereo original the Acoustic sounds is the clear winner here great pressing I did pick that up last year so glad they did it I believe the acoustic sounds will not going to stay in print more than two years the demand is so high on this classic ALS is so essential it was the first Coltrane album I heard I remember watching Mo’ Better Blues film they played it in the movie . Happy Holidays to you Bill and your family take care . Lovellandrew

Thanks, Bill. I wondered about the blue vinyl. Think I'll stick with my AS version. You're absolutely right; EVERYONE needs this album

The copy you have is a later pressing, you can tell by the label. The 1st press should look like the reproduction Acoustic Sounds label "A Product ABC-Paramount Records INC" . The one you have has "A Product of ABC Records INC." which is a later pressing.

You are correct, it is a 1967 pressing but uses the same metal parts as the 1965 press. Michael Fremer talked about the original in one of his videos and acknoweledged the hum.

    Hey there Bill!
    How’ve ya been?
I have the 4th copy that you played.
“Acknowledgement” does two things that show what my setup can do. Firstly, That ongoing cymbal decay literally circles non-stop from my listening position.
It’s fantastic and Secondly, when that bass kicks in, it’s coming from behind my front speakers filling the room.
I have the typical 5.2.2 speaker setup but when I’m listening to music I’m running just my front towers with both of my subwoofers (2.1 stereo)
    I have a few questions…
I thought I saw some B&W speakers in a previous video, are those your primary speakers?
    Do you use subwoofers?
    If so, what are they?
    Merry Christmas Bill.

I received my acoustic sounds copy with deep scratches on my favourite track « pursuance »…

Oh that hum would kill me. I have a mid-2010’s version and it sounds great. The 70s was a little muddled. I love the pre-echo on the 2021 version - the way I know it from several sources/pressings. Believe it or not, I liked the Walmart version.

The hum is not noticeable when the music is playing. The original is far superior to the latest or issues

Just picked up the Target exclusive, haven't spun it yet. But this was a cool experiment.

I bought the 2015 Impulse (GR-155) when it came out. That sound horrible to my ears. It sounded like someone was running a vacuum during the recording session. It was not good at all. Then I bought the Acoustic Sound pressing which sounds gorgeous….like night and day.

I also have the GR-155 and for me the bass is boomy and boxy on this. Is it the same for the Acoustic Sound pressing?

Actually mono was 1st pressing, doesn’t have hum I have a VG + copy paid good amount money for it , I prefer mono version over my acoustic sound version , listen to original mono version Coltranes sax 🎷 is centered and in your face .

I would really recommend you gain balance any samples you compare, otherwise its not really fair. Free Plug ins like ReplayGain for Audacity can do this really well for you.

You should try the 3lp 50th anniversary edition with alternative takes and musicians.

Brilliant album. I love my copy of the Acoustic Sounds pressing! Just listening to that first minute you realize how much great music that this album has influenced.

My original stereo copy sounds way better than the reissue by analog productions Anybody tells you different is trying to sell you something

I'm not trying to sell you anything. There is hum on my old copy, and I simply recommend the Acoustic Sounds/Impulse release if you don't already own A Love Supreme.

@@BillsBoxOfSound absolutely. I am referring to others who have said the AS pressing is superior, Rudy had a bad day, blah blah blah.
