WOW! Stumbled on this vid and had to share a tale 'bout this spot. Back in Okfuskee when I was a kiddo, I'd head to Sunday school right here. I was 8 and 9, just learnin' life and such.
Now, there was this Sunday School teacher, her name's a bit fuzzy now, but she was the prettiest thing I ever laid eyes on. Beautiful inside and out, y'know? I might've had a lil' crush, so I muster up the courage to ask her out. Well, she gently turns me down. Next day? Boom, she's announcing she's tying the knot with this fella Mark in town. It hit me like a tornado, anger brewin' inside.
We'd gather in the basement, munchin' on donuts with my buddies, just makin' it all worse. Couldn't bear to see her with Mark, felt like my world was crumblin'. So, when my dad snagged a new job, we packed up and headed to Arkansas. Left it all behind, tryin' to forget that heartbreakin' Sunday school tale.
But there were good times too, like singin' from them hymnals and the day they asked me to climb up a ladder and change the letters on the attendance board. Funny thing is, that's when the teacher comes over to help, and that's the exact moment I fell head over heels in love.
Life's got its twists, and we moved on, but I'll never forget them Sunday school days, especially that teacher with a heart as big as Texas.
Thanks for sharin' this vid; it brought back memories-some sweet, some not so much. Even though it was a painful memory, thank you Abandoned Atlas for preservin' the history of this beautiful building.

It reminds me, at least from the exterior, of the church that was used in "The Walking Dead".
