Thanks for the great video. I now own a Yamaha Seqtrak and a Korg SP404 MK2 which is a great couple. I use the Seqtrak for creating beats and chords and the SP404 to record and mix them. I now desperately want an OP1 Field to have the most capable portable synth. I absolutely love the design and am very curious on the workflow. Saving up for that, but for now I like to emphasize that the Seqtrak is the most underrated workstation that exists. The thing is sooo powerful.
@@LiamKillen You need to get the fact that you can play a synth and record it as a sample track (kind of like the tape tracks on OP1). This increases the number of parallel melody's a lot. You can also quite easily copy and paste a pattern of a track. This means you can make slight modifications in your 6 patterns per sound. The videos of the producers using it on the Yamaha TH-cam channel show what this thing can do. I at first used it with an external keyboard, but being able to "program" your chords in the 7 chord keys creates a lot of control on playing them. I think the song mode is a bit limited and that is where the SP404 comes in handy. Finally, it now is on it OG firmware (v1.1). I think future firmware upgrades will make this thing fly. I would encourage you to give it a try. The learning curve is a bit steep if it comes to key combinations (even when using your phone as a screen), but once you learn the most important key-combinations it is a great little instrument.
And it's really cheap for what you get. Especially having a drum computer, a FM synth (DX-series) and 2 AWM2 synths and a sampler for now in most cases

I was super excited to your opinion as a drummer about what you like about the drum machines and why you’d never sell them.
Lastly, yes, I created a handful of TH-cam reviews for other hobbies. I know how much work it is.
Interesting! I didn’t really get into the seqtrak!
Yet 😏
@LiamKillen The SP-404?
That’s on a previous list! But the SX - I’ll def have to mention the MK2 in the future!
You have to keep the OP-1 because you make TH-cam videos and for that it is literally indispensable because of how it looks. There's no reason for anyone else to own one if they're not making videos.
Love how you’re just putting words in my mouth like it’s no one business.
not long for your videos to exceed 50% advertising. ;(
That’s dramatic
Maybe do to self promoting and E Begging later in the video, other then that good video.
I read your profile name and I think “holllaaaaaaaa” from that missy elliot song.
E begging!! Wow that’s rude. Thx for watching though
@@LiamKillen Not really its just feedback, there was a bit to many asks to early in the video before actually providing any content. When I click on a video titled "Why I never sell My Synths" want to see you talking about Why you will never sell your synths, I dont want to hear long segment of self premonition. Check your channel analytics people either skip that bit or they click off the video.
@@LiamKillen My main music was Hiphop back in the day Holla is a popular word used in Hiphop lyrics and culture so I used it, to basically say "Holla at Me for Sounds" IE Holla Sounds.
hot take. KO2’s unlimited sequencer is better than all of those. 48 independent tracks up to 99 bars each, quantised or unequalised or mixture thereof. PROVE ME WRONG. 😂❤
You don’t need that many tracks ! Lol
The creative aspect of the Oxi one in terms of composition vs the EP-133- there’s really no comparison IMO
You're going to use the EP-133 KO2 as your master sequencer for multiple devices in a live set? Seems a bit limited for that.
No elektron? Hmm ok
What? Analog Rytm MK2 is in the video! Lol- And a mention of the Digitakt 2!
Most gear is tough to let go because most gear will only sell if it’s less than half its original value. That’s where we’re at in 2024.
On Reverb you’re right- you’re better off selling locally
@@LiamKillen Of course, lately im noticing slower resales locally at the first posted price. It could be a current Vancouver thing.
