- A small orangutan baby a few days old at the Prague Zoo in Prague, Czech Republic. Look how cute he sleeps with his mom and how he takes care of him with love.
The type of orangutan is the Sumerian Orangutan. Orangutans are great apes that inhabit the rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia. They are known for their distinctive rusty brown fur, long arms and prominent cheek pads in males. These primates feed mainly on fruit, but they also eat leaves, bark and occasionally insects. Orangutans are mostly solitary, except for temporary groups of females and cubs. Their intelligence is remarkable, they show an ability to use tools to solve problems and are able to build nests of leaves and branches for sleeping. Unfortunately, however, they are critically endangered due to habitat loss, illegal hunting and trade. Rescue programs and conservation measures are necessary to preserve them for future generations.

…i used to be against animal being in zoos but now as i am getting older and seeing what is happening to them in the wild - i now believe all the zoos in the world are playing an essential roll in keeping the species alive. THANK YOU for sharing mama and baby relaxing and living the good life.❤❤❤

See!!! Co-sleeping... whatever y'all wanna call it, is such a primal and natural thing to do. Idk how anyone can be THAT out of it that they smother there baby. I was INSTANTLY awake as soon as my kids made a squeak.

This is eleven year old diri the new mom who is the daughter of mawar who gave birth to this lovely baby boy in the second of may who does not have a name yet but will get one from the public via voting on the second June his one month birthday. This is very important for the population of sumatran orangutans because of his father Pagy. This orangutan alone with kawi (mawars son kawi mawar is diris mom) are very important because they are descendants of orangutans directly from the rainforests of sumatran.

I have a pretty good relation ship with Prague zoo ever though I don't work there I do get involved in stuff that people can't do so I know a lot about the animals in Prague zoo especially and also in general so if u have any questions about the animals at org zoo just as!

Seeing her look at those cement walls with her infant truly saddends me. It's like watching an episode of Black Is The New Orange - Orangutan Moms In Prison. These intelligent beings certainly must have some innate feelings that they want more for their Children than the same daily rountines of zoo life.
It's not entirely true. This video is zoomed 30x and the mother was purposely behind this wall for privacy, but she can move around the whole large space

A mother with such a small child should not be at a spectator exhibit at all, she should have time to bond with her child and not nervously look to see if anyone is watching, but today all that matters to the zoo is money for tickets sold and a small orangutan equals more income!

It looks like it's close to people in the shots, but in reality it's zoomed in 30x and it's still in a corner where you can't see so much, so it has quite a bit of privacy. But I understand what you write.

That Baby Looks Exactly Like The Kids We Have Running Around The Low Income Housing Project's Section 8. All Look Alike And Screeching As Well. Meanwhile Adults On The Porch Waiting On The Mailman For The Welfare Check.
Look Em Up And You Can Find Em In The Low Income Inner Cities Housing Project's Section 8. They Do Well Lying Around Waiting On Hand Outs And Checking EBT To See If It's Active. Yep Sure Thought It Was My Neighbor Tho.
We humans should lavish more love and emotional comfort onto our children when they are young instead of rushing around making sure every corner is dusted and every nicknack is polished and in just the right place. I followed my parent’s habits. I should have watched more orangutans as a child, but that would have been more than 70 years ago when it was rare to even see a picture of an orangutan outside of a black and white still in an encyclopedia. We missed a lot.
