Fantastic video Jamie. A great guide to fishing big lakes in rough conditions with some good results. Fishing lakes in those conditions can be very daunting.🎣
@@CatchFishingChannel hi mate i sort of do simply because i grow up with these river's in the days before the carp lakes really got going. Hi Jamie now that’s what I would describe as a proper wild water. Set in beautiful scenery with immaculate fish. If you had said that was Ireland i for one, would have believed you. Proper natural fishing without a greedy carp in sight, I wonder how many anglers could have tackled that if all they had ever done was chuck a method feeder 20 yards on a commercial! Absolutely loved that video. Regards Bill
Really glad you liked it mate, I think there's scope for more videos on venues like this don't you agree? They are so unpredictable aren't they. Do you fish venue's like this mate?
CATCH Fishing Channel Hi Jamie I don’t fish that kind of venue anymore as there are are not any in my neck of the woods. The nearest I have are some fair sized deep clay pits. But I used to fish in Ireland a lot on that kind of venue and I do miss them! Seems I need to head north to find some bigger wild venues. Incidentally I agree that on those wild days with a good wave on the fishing seems to be better for most species I assume it stimulates the fish and I used to find positive feeding was better, but not always! I think that we need more of these video’s if only to encourage people to try them and broaden their skill base.Keep them coming Jamie regards Bill

fond memories of that place it was only up the road from me, we fished it back in the 80s early 90s, we fished at the crack of dawn, mostly small skimmers back then with the odd lump if ya got lucky, the more ya chucked at them the more they wanted as long as the sun didn't come out it was grand, , very enjoyable to watch,
Thanks Vince and I love to hear about your comparisons between your venues and the venues we fish here in the UK. Question for you, when catching Bream in Sweden, Fishmeal or Brasem? ;)
Brazem in 99% of the venues, I have just tried a fishmeal mix on a venue near me which has carp in it and it worked but it is very strange to me yet. I caught on hair rigged bolie even stranger😂😂😂😱😱😱. But you would love the big open waters here for bream.
Yes we do Jamie but it is very limited, we are very small number of match anglers in the whole of Sweden. Sweden does fish all the world championships though, the club and national team events. I fished for them in feeder worlds in Portugal but the support is limited for them to really compete. There are some really good anglers here, but you have to qualify for the national teams, no being picked and so the best team does not always go. But it is fair for all as they like it to be here.

great video jamie, was there any reason why you didn't switch to a window feeder due to the amount of roach you was catching and the amount of particles you was feeding...many thanks scott

They were ideal casting into that headwind too. Thanks for watching Scott mate really appreciate it. Do you prefer videos on these natural venues?
Great video as usual Jamie, ive noticed you seem to be using free running rigs without booms is there any reason for this, I have tried virtually every rig shown on the internet and still cant find one that is tangle free
Thanks Neil! I love using 'booms' and feeder links but sometimes when the conditions are severe and it's towing hard, I'm not sure that they make a big difference as everything is 'locked-up' like it is on a river and I like to use the tow as an advantage to almost allow fish to hook themselves. Does that make sense mate?
The problem I have is that I cannot find a rig that is tangle free,I mainly fish big open natural waters using a Horizon XD 130 to punch it out but on the retrieve I seem to tangle all the time
