Well done Steve,it’s a thinking anglers session. So much going on so many changes to make.Just brilliant.🤩🤩
Well done Steve great video as always and I learnt a lot and doing things from the underwater video and you framed
Great performance and video. 🐳👍
Having watched a lot of 'underwaters' by many brands, match and carp. The same 'rules' that came out of earlier Korda films still hold true.
A relatively 'stiff' rig that resets itself and that lies out straight, away from the lead or feeder, and gives the fish no slack to use to eject the rig whilst letting the weight of the feeder or lead drive the hook point home is the key to catching more.
Now I always fish 'stiff' or semi-stiff rigs when Carping but 'softer' more traditional rigs when feeder fishing.
Having watched 'Underwater 2' I think our feeder rigs could be alot 'stiffer' and work well. I think Danny was aluding to improving rig dynamics toward a more 'Carpy' style.
So I'm thinking a longer stiffer boom and a shorter hook link.
Maybe even 15-20Ib fluorocarbon for the boom and a slightly lighter fluorocarbon for the hook length?
I would even consider covering the connection between the boom and hook length with a stiffer sleeve (anti-tangle) to push the hook length out straight.
great video, great commentary from a pro, I'm upset though Steve didn't win the match (the underwater video efforts and insights openly shared with everyone should count as 10 pounds plus to the final weight for Steve - they ought to adjust the scoring system at Ferry :)
Fab. Cheers
Really grateful for this amazing insight and talking through the decision making. Keep them coming please👏👏👏👏 Oh, and when will the braided feeder links be hitting the shops?
Such good content lads 🙌
Interesting video Steve and well done. Was you allowed to fish tbe hybrid in that match? Wondered if that would have been better??
I’d give my right arm to spend a day fishing with Steve. Love the bloke ( no homo ) class act. ❤
Ringer seems like such a nice bloke
He is I’ve met him lovely bloke very good fisherman
@alexgoesfishing8954 yeah he's a fantastic fisherman. I'm fairly new to fishing and I've learned so much watching videos of him
Best in the business is ringer 🎣💯💥
Dont let him see this his head will blow up haha
quality watch learnt loads... no redworms bet a bunch would catch a bream
Funnily enough red worms have never been a great bait at ferry and loads try them. My attitude is I'm feeding dendras so the fish are eating them. So why not put the same on the hook.
@@StevenRinger-gw7cs true mate quality video any more to come?
@matchmanpaully yes hopefully been doing more regular live matches this year.
Alors surement derrière au classement.
I was surprised that Steve didn't try the sure fire way to get a bite...pour yourself a cup of coffee!
More Steve Ringer
For me if your not trying to catch on drop that short hook length is the game changer
some nice fish
Hello Steve, Here Herman from Holland. I am fishing with a mix from Mainline Pro active and Sweet marine. Witch pellet is a better combination, Cell or Halibut?? Thanks for your answere, Regards Herman
Making those underwater videos have messed with his head!
😂😂😂
What rig is Steve using ? Fixed or sliding.
How long is the hair for the worm rig?
Good Morning
What is yellow granul on the dessert ?
Thank you for the reponse
snacks for Steve, I assume, since he never used them for fishing)))
What is the exact name of the green bait you are using
Just noticed the seat? Top flite angler, sponsored by a very well known tackle manufacturer in a sponsored video?
I thought you weren't going to give away the underwater secrets 🙂
Hi Stev... I thought you could not use pellets on ferry?
Pellets have always been allowed at ferry
Fucking hell Steve i opened a right can of worms lol
Agree , why such a long hooklength ?
Because he always fishes that way ?
Why show us that a short hooklength gives better and quicker indication, then don't follow that knowledge !
Because with a flurocarbon boom I can achieve amazing bait separation. We showed this in part 1 of underwater at ferry.
Hello from Russia. Please tell me, why is the quivertip practically in the water? Isn't it more convenient to observe when he is 10-20 centimeters from the water?
The tip is slightly under the water due to the wind, However I tend to fish the tip this close to the water whenever I fish
@@TackleguruTV It's clear. Thanks
Personally I put the tip as low to the water as possible to help keep the line low, might be nonsense but in my head it helps from spooking fish with line, keeps it in the deck better.
Tolle Videos. Ich habe viel dazu gelernt. Aber bitte Deutsche Untertitel einfügen. Bei allen Filmen bitte.
Just a quick question why fish such a long hooklength when you know it lands an inch or so away from the feeder?
Mad long that hook link don't get why the underwater show short hook was best or is the length a rule ?
But with a flurocarbon boom as shown in underwater it showed that bait separation can still be achieved with a longer hooklength.
But twitching the feeder towards you worked but then again we saw 5lb bream on for ages with no sign on the tip so no one knows anything that's going on but that's why it's called fishing lol we can only assume steve well fished though in underwater video the bream were all huge lol you found some of the smaller ones!!
@peterroome5018 different time of year so a lot of skimmers in from the river as its river fed. Also a lot more colour in the water.
I think I need go back and watch underwater again I took it differently and not knowing alot about match fishing myself would never think about river water
I wonder if a hybrid would work at ferry
Co to za kosz podbieraka na filmie?
Please put the Hungarian subtitle on it 🤘😉
Time for a new box Steve, that worn seat will be letting water in. If only you had a sponsor to give you a new one.....
Meanwhile, in the peg next door, the old boy with the split cane rod n bent pin, half a loaf and a wicker basket, collects a net of biguns. 😂
What rod are you using to quivertip so effortlessly at 50?
Crucially he’s using a braided mainline
12ft Aventus Steve Ringer 😎
Why start so far out, why not 25-30 yards?
Because in a match the bream get pushed out due to pressure. I've fished ferry all my life and in matches it's extremely rare to catch bream inside 40m.
Steve, why didn't you cut the maggot? And bait a worm and maggot. I think it might work.
Russian subtitles!
