This video was perfect and beyond helpful! My concrete ended up with the right consistency. I just knew! Not too soupy, but not overly crunchy! Thanks!
I'm glad I watched this video, he got to the point on how to mix concrete not diddle daddling around how to mix concrete up, in my point of view I give it a 10, Thanks...👍
Thank you, this helped me a lot. When i was a very small boy I used to work “hose duty” for my grandpa; he was an ace at making sidewalks at home. He used this same method with the wheelbarrow, hose and hoe, but I guess the ingredients are easier today. Back then he used I think 2 parts sand / 1 part Sakrete and it was a bit more difficult to get the mixture just right. But he nailed it every time. Now it’s my turn and decades later I needed a refresher course - so THANK YOU ! Great video. Now I have to go make my back door ledge.
I learned this technique from my Mexican helpers, who I figure are the real pros.. The only thing different was they'd slice the bags across the middle, flip it over and pick up the ends, very easy and less to lift. Later, I took a hoe with a busted off handle and rounded off the corners. Easier to pull/push and cleans out the dry corners better.
Thank you. You got straight to the point and didn’t go round and round the mulberry bush. You explained it well with extra tips. I appreciate this video.
Ok, we know its not the perfect way to mix, oh and a slump test was not carried out ! BUT I have a bad back partly due to mixing barrowloads of concrete etc. Using a garden hoe ( I believe in other countries you can get the proper tool) keeps my body upright and pressure of my lower back and leading leg hip joint. this stops me from being laid up for a week after mixing a barrowload. Well done mate.
Thanks for the video. For the novice concrete DIY person, Quickcrete recommends 3 quarts of water per 80 pound bag on their instructional video. According to them, too much water will weaken the cured concrete.
After living in Italy I've gotten the language down packed, he said, "It's like cooking..." But your comment made me laugh and go back to 3:11 to make sure. :)
WOW, that is 3 times as much water as they put in the directions, that it's why it appears so simple, its not that simple. Anyway, GL 80 lb bag calls for less than a gallon of water. Did that look like less than a gallon?
In theory you want to distribute the specified amount of water the manufacture recommends to the volume of concrete in the bag and the best way to do this is to spread the concrete out amongst the largest flat surface area that you can or distribute it evenly in multiple concrete troughs or mud pans and then distributing the water evenly amongst the large surface area and then less mixing will be needed, then you can place the concrete to where it needs to be directly from the mixing troughs.
This is not how you mix concrete by hand. Adding to much water weakens the cement. Use the recommended amount of water. Usually 3 quarts per 80 lbs bag. "Pretty much like cooking". Follow the recipe and you'll get good results.
Ariel Luna I’ve never had the recommended amount of water work for me. I always have dry mix that I can’t even work with. If a 60 pound bag suggests 2 quarts to a maximum of 3-1/2 quarts, I will start with 2 quarts. Then I will use the misting or cone spray function of my garden hose nozzle to spray water over the entire tube for a few seconds. Then mix for a few minutes and if necessary mist a little bit more water.
Concrete with TOO LITTLE water will not be fully reacted. Concrete with LESS water will make a a stronger concrete but less workable because it's much harder to shape it and get it into forms. Concrete with MORE water, is easier to work with at a cost for some strength. Concrete with TOO MUCH water will cause more pores in the concrete, and wont bind the aggregate to the cement paste properly, making it really weak
The fastest and easiest way to mix concrete by hand is using a steelemixer.com It will mix a bag of concrete without power in less than 40 sec and its supper easy to use!
This guy was by far the most easiest to understand, doesn't speak too fast and easy to understand the terminology. Great video
Do you have problems comprehending people that speak fast?
And bruh ain’t give a whole back story either.
This video was perfect and beyond helpful! My concrete ended up with the right consistency. I just knew! Not too soupy, but not overly crunchy! Thanks!
Overly crunchy is bad...soupy is bad. This guy has the perfect recipe..Thank you. I used it to put up a flag pole .

Just people who practice a craft over and over again they start to figure out ways to do things better

Ken Evans they say to start there and go up to 4.5qt if needed. I found 3 quarts to be completely unworkable. It was like damp gravel.
Also like Twirl bars too👍
This video was perfect, thanks for sharing
is it edible?
So far this seems to be the most efficient way? Looking for better ideas

I love crunchie bars.
Great video..Thank You!!!
Thanks - very helpful!
Is there a risk setting will be affected if it's too wet and sloppy to start with?
If it’s too wet, the concrete will be weaker and it might crack.
JazakAllah hu khair amazing
Thanks I appreciate it very informative 😎😎
Thank you sir for video
Good video-u did add the water right and then right amount
Concrete nice and crunchy.... I didn't know people eat concrete 😂😂😂
Would this ready mix work on an driveway, or is this just for smaller projects that have lighter weight requirements?
Unfortunately it’s 3 years In the future now but I’d suggest adding rebar for extra support with the concrete slab
Thankyou very helpful

If you put the concrete in a container with a small top surface area then the concrete on top will absorb more water then the rest of the concrete.
Good information.Thankyou
YES, YES, YES!!!!!
You can make the concrete super runny as well

agreed, dude is wrong
Too much water content, as a result this carefully formulated mix has now lost 50% of its structural strength!!!!
Yes, his concrete is too wet.
Thank god for concrete mixers
Pull it all one way in small amounts then walk around and pull it to the other side in small amounts. Repeat....you're welcome!!!

I thought water strengthen concrete?? They say that if you pour concrete underwater it becomes stronger than the air dryed concrete

How not to mix concrete is a better title. Better add a lot more water to that bro.
Brent Hill, dumbass
Brent hill concrete is meant to be thick "you don't pour it you place it" even a little too much water will ruin concrete
Less water.
I think you mean don't add anymore... Bro... ( never take advice from anyone who uses the word "bro"
you obviously don't know how to mix concrete.
in the stupid 3rd world countries they work just like that no mixer machine imagine more than this 8 times
Your grammar is on par with a 3rd world country. If you think 8 bags is a lot then you must be very out of shape...
