I've learnt Load's from watching your videos 👍. I've been Plastering for 25 yr's + . And have wanted to jump into the Venetian plaster world. Watching your videos and getting as much info, tips and tricks as I could. Now I'm actually doing it. And got my 1st Venetian plaster job coming up. So many thanks Bro 💪👊👍🔥👏👏. U mentioned that you took Time out because u were unwell. Hope you are better Now. And doing well. Because we want some more Videos 🔥👍😎👏👏👏👏
Neville Hayfield thank you for the kind words. I’m glad the videos are helpful, I’m better and back making new videos next week and will be on a regular basis with a new video every Wednesday. Congratulations on the job!
@@RonaldLayman Awesome 🔥 looking forward to learning some more stuff. Particularly about pigments. Making your own colours. And just learn more about the material all round. I've used gypsum products my hole life. And it really is a different world. I love it. Really going to try and introduce it in my town. South west, UK. Love your channel 👏🔥 All the best 👍
Thank you. Now I feel I'm finally beginning to understand how to work with the lime. Your feeling for the materials is what makes you an outstanding teacher and master craftsman.
Great video Ronald. I'm a trainer and I really appreciate the professional manner in which you make your videos as much as the tutorial content as well. There are so many well meaning amateurs out there who may be creative and talented but their videos are just so difficult to watch.
thanks for the video. Your vids have to be the best and most informative on TH-cam. You dont have that arrogance that so many other applicators sport. Also, is there much difference between the finished look between synthetic plaster and lime base?
Hi Ronald great video like always thanks for the tips I have a question what primer can I use to prime Sheetrock micro primer is to pricey for me thank you
Jonathan Cortez sorry using a non proprietary primer is not a good idea, someone tried that on a job in dc trying to save money and every time someone bumped the wall the plaster popped off the wall because of lack of adhesion.
Thanks for the advice and again thanks for all the videos you make I probably watch them thousand times very helpful and professional after alot samples first one came ut right just like marble with mirror finish thanks
I am a little confused. I thought you were supposed to work from dry into wet. Maybe that's why I am getting tool marks. I would appreciate your opinion.
Hi. I have watched all you videos and the are grate. Last time I email you about Venetian plaster classes!!! When will you give classes again in your school. I live in NY and I have no problem going to one of you classes. I really like Venetian plaster. Thank you.
+Fernando Coronel I have classes scheduled for MD at www.thefauxschool.com , I have been out of commission due to some minor skin caner surgery, all is better an I look normal and will be back to making videos next week
Ron, you mentioned that this lime Venetian plaster could be applied on floors so long as you then use the right finishes. Can you expand on that please? I understand the range of waxes applicable to walls. What finishes are needed for floor surfaces? And... my existing floor is ceramic tile over concrete. Dated and boring. Could I apply Venetian plaster and appropriate finishes directly over that? Lime or Acrylic?
+Ronald Layman Hi Ron. Thanks for reply. When you first mentioned using Venetian finishes for floors, was it epoxy you were referring to? There are so many and varied floor finish options for bare concrete and as an overlay over existing tile (micro toppings etc). I'm particularly keen to know if natural lime plasters can be used over existing ceramic tile if properly prepared. Or am I better off using micro cement finishes. I'd love to get a natural and textured stone like surface if possible .
Which Pavan trowel model that's best for this type of finish? There are so many number options I can't seem to find any info on which type to use for which plaster and don't want to get one that' won't work best with grassello

How many grams of pigment do you add to 5 gallons ?
Do you use a certain brand of pigment or plaster ?
Thank you very much
