Actually the reason why Jennifer Hale is very popular and taken seriously is because of her ability to put the correct emotion and pace in all the characters she has done. Her resume is extremely long and as for what Tony said for her to be taken seriously, which I think she is a lot of people can debate that she does a hell of a better job than Mark Meer.
Mark Meer also voices the vorcha, hanar, many volus and other characters. So while his Shepard role is the least dynamic vocally compared to his other roles, he does have a lot of skill.
@@andrecruz4447 Meer was also a relative newcomer to voice acting, most of his roles were small side characters in other BioWare games prior to landing the male Shepard role. He's considerably better in the third game, but by then he'd already established the male Shepard persona so there wasn't much he could really do to expand on it without it sounding out of character.
And Jennifer Hale holds the Guinness world record for most voice acting parts by a female voice actress, so... Not like you're going to do better than *the most prolific female voice actress in history.*
It's also great to see support for Femshep, my favourite Bioware character. Jennifer Hale dominates the role, I can’t imagine playing a Mass Effect game as a male again.
I like how Bioware has been adding same sex relationships in to their games for a long while. I think it first started in Jade Empire, with a male being able to romance Sky and a female romancing Silk Fox. Thinking about it, I think there was meant to be a lesbian romance in ST: KotoR but that was cut in the end. Some may say that it’s done just to get players, and even if that is true, it’s great to see that they are tackling homosexuality sensitively and wonderfully.
I Love Jennifer Hale! Bastila is still my best romance option in gaming to date. Just hearing her speak is enough to take me... eh.. well.. be happy. She is doing her descendent in Star Wars: the Old Republic!! Gotta be a Jedi!
What makes you think Ali values herself highly, not agreeing/disagreeing by the way just curious. She responds quite well to her fanbase on twitter. Jennifer is definitely the golden girl when it comes to gaming.
@chris200830 Additionally, in the codex IN THE GAME it specifies that asari are an all female race. Also in the Galactic Codex: Essentials Edition 2183 (from the Mass Effect Collectors Edition) it says that they are all sexually female. When Liara says male and female have no meaning to asari, she is referring to the social gender constructs of human society, not to physical sex.
I wonder how did you come up with that? Not saying that I personally know Ali, but from the responses I, and many other fans got from her on Twitter, she seems pretty nice. She likes to joke around a bit too. From my own experience, she's one of the nicer celebrities, compare to some other actors / actresses.
@Yakko77 When she said Knights of the Old Republic, she meant the very first game, since she played Bastila. But, the second time she mentioned it, I'm pretty sure she was talking about The Old Republic. So, hopefully, she'll play someone in that :D
no its cool i was just letting you know honestly jennifer hale has been in a lot of stuff I've liked before i even knew she was in mass effect but i just wanted to change it up for once and i like it better too so if theres customization i usually pick the female + i make ugly guys in games my shepard actually looks pretty good
@mujuma And Hale I like for her ability to make femShep be like this hardcore chick that takes no shit from anyone but still, at the same time, care for the people around her. Oh! And she is really good at being flirty almost sultry too;D
@mujuma LOL:D yeah, she does sound like that in some parts. Like: "Yes, Mordin tell me aaaaall about your time in STG and your work with the... zzzzzzzzzzz..."
@Dancinglemon ah, I understand what you mean now and what I said wasn't the best thing to get an opinion across. I've got a lot of respect for Women, what I said kind of contradicts that. And thankyou for at least not going overboard about it, I'm not used to dealing with people that actually have manners.
@mujuma Don´t worry, I´m not offended at all, and I can´t see why anyone else should be. I was only pointing out that femshep isn´t only for female players and maleshep for the male. Although I do think that most guys play as maleShep (at least on their first playthrough) and most girls/women play as femShep.
exactly don't think all guys are like that though i am and I've ONLY played as a femaleshepard its interesting cause most games are just about men but i find it gives it a new "feel" for the environment and interaction
@mujuma About Meer and Hales voiceacting: I can´t really decide who is the better of the two, cause they both have their strengths and flaws. In my case I like Meer for his ability to make maleShep sound like, not just a commander but THE commander the hero who is going to save us all (hopefully).
@mujuma It's cool. I don't usually make a deal out of anything like this, it's just that one statement that always manages to get me though haha! But I know you didn't mean anything by it. And, hey, you're perfectly reasonable about it too which, I agree, it's a rare thing, especially on youtube! So thanks to you too :)
@mujuma I don´t think femShep is just there "for the female players". I´m a girl myself and have played as both a male and femShep. And I know several guys who did the same, so I don´t really think you can just put it in boxes like that..
@mujuma What you said wasn't really sexist but the words 'I'm not sexist, it's just my view' are stupid. Just because something is a 'view' doesn't make it un-sexist. That would be like someone saying 'Girls are only good for cleaning. Not sexist, just my view' I know guys who play as Femshep, it's not something they implemented as appeasement to the female player. I think it's also awesome that they have a female lead who's strong and competent without being purely about tits and asses.
I feel like Ali looks at Jennifer the way Liara would look at Shepard. Amaright. lol
It's been over a decade and I still look at this video every now and then because I cannot get over how wonderful their chemistry is
LoL 10 years later, I just said the same thing. What's that all about?
Not to mention they still look the same. They look just a bit older if you go watch their last n7 reunion. They only got like one year older.
Ali Hillis just confirmed she’s bisexual in this interview shiiiit😂
@ox_trueprotagonistchrisred9085 literally that's how I look at women & I'm a lesbian lmao. I wouldn't be surprised.
Absolutely! Me too!
My favorite voice actors ever! FemShep/Liara feels
Two of the Best of the Best Epic Badass Voice Actresses! I Absolutely Love these two SO much!
The way Ali's eyes light up at the mention of making out. Dah! So cute!
ali hillis is gorgeous wow

Her resume is extremely long and as for what Tony said for her to be taken seriously, which I think she is a lot of people can debate that she does a hell of a better job than Mark Meer.
You just haven't heard the Russian voice of BroShep. Compared to that, Meer's job is brilliant.
Mark Meer also voices the vorcha, hanar, many volus and other characters. So while his Shepard role is the least dynamic vocally compared to his other roles, he does have a lot of skill.

Seriously? 82% of all players play with male Shepard. The statistic is in the internet.
@@sergeonthelooseI mean, the Male Romances are better, as a FemShep player, we all have to admit that's a big reason for it.
For me canon ever will be male Shepard with default face
@@rj_man_ agree and it's only shepard face after real person
@@D1LLERH I’m with valamist on this Femshep is better imo

watching her eyes light up when the interview asks why they make out.. my GAD
How awesome they are, love their voices.
You can't Be serious?
Fem Shep kicks ass, and the Renegade options she takes are the best.
I love the way Jenifer Hale laughs lmao
They are both so adorable!
"I play commander shepard-"
YEAH YOU DO! THE ONE AND ONLY!
Ok simp
I Love Jennifer Hale! Bastila is still my best romance option in gaming to date. Just hearing her speak is enough to take me... eh.. well.. be happy. She is doing her descendent in Star Wars: the Old Republic!! Gotta be a Jedi!
Love that Ali is rocking her l'Cie mark. So badass.
The way that Ali looks Jan...
if you know what I mean XD
Now i know why i find lightnings voice so attractive even thought i don't like the character. Had no idea she was voice by Ali Hillis. Forever blue.😍😍
shoutout to Femshep, the most badass spectre in the galaxy
It's so strange. It's like Shepard's talking to me. I love that Shepard's voice is actually Jennifer's real voice.
I shit myself when i found out Jennifer Hale plays Tira in Soul Caliber O__O She is EXTREMELY versatile
This is Commander Shepard and this is my favorite youtube video in the Citadel.
It is lovely to see Shepard and Liara together in real life, though Liara sounded like a completely different person compare to the game...
Lightning!!!!! She's awesome.
Jennifer Hale is amazing... Bastila, Shepard.... awesomeness.
"but hey, I go BOTH ways" *gets struck by lightning*
What makes you think Ali values herself highly, not agreeing/disagreeing by the way just curious. She responds quite well to her fanbase on twitter. Jennifer is definitely the golden girl when it comes to gaming.
Im commander shepard, and this is my favorite voice actor on the citadel
Damn😍Daaamn😍😍😍😍😍Damn I AM IN ❤
I have never seen Liara's actress.
Wow, just WOW. 😍🥰🥰😍😘😘😍
Holy Shite, the chemistry between them in real life.
I think she meant Liara goes both ways. xD
I love how Allie Hillis has a L'Cie tattoo in the same spot as Lightning.
LOL omg she had the L'cie brand!
FemShep and Liara
Wow, those two are hilarious.
yes, there it is. i knew there was some kind of reason i always romanced liara.
JENNIFER, I WANNA JUST GIVE YOU A BIG ASS HUG!! I love this woman!!
"So boys what you up to?" *guys laugh nervously*
Hell if she was Bi i'll love her more.
Both great VA's And very pretty as well. Jennifer looks like she could beat your ass too just like renegade shep.
fuck ali's such a teaseee mannn, Love her.
*sees ali spin around*
"DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYUM GUURL"
Ali's dress was really nice.
the mass effect voice actresses are so freakin hottt!!!!

I think to them it's kinda like a belly button. It's either in inny or an outy lols
Funny, Jeniffer looks like Ashley from ME3.
I love how the camera goes to the side a bit and -- Felicia Day! :D
I wish I had gone to the last ComicCon in Seattle. I would have met Jennifer Hale and done a Wayne and Garth thing: "I'm not worthy!"
wow! i had no idea that ali hillis plays liara!!
@awilliams1701 actually, the entire Asari species is stated to be female, so it is two girls.
I wonder how did you come up with that? Not saying that I personally know Ali, but from the responses I, and many other fans got from her on Twitter, she seems pretty nice. Ali barely takes her eyes off Jennifer during the entire interview.
Because Liara always says in a whisper :)
Ali hillis is such a teaser
I'm surprised that Jennifer didn't win the award, but Tricia did do a good job as EDI( is that the character she won it off of?).
dear god Jennifer Hale is tall! She was hunching slightly to speak into the mike! She's an Amazon!
the best phoenix voice in the world!
wait wait.. if I pick femshep, i can have her make out with Liara! *re-installs ME2*

Lightning Returns!!!
That's because Liara has a different face model
@Niker117
She is the voice of female trooper player in MMO SW: Old Republic.
Also like to point out that not all men are strong and plenty of us are stupid.
it's because she's having to yell a bit, i saw a different interview with her and she was talking normally and sounded JUST like liara
@mujuma And Hale I like for her ability to make femShep be like this hardcore chick that takes no shit from anyone but still, at the same time, care for the people around her. Oh! And she is really good at being flirty almost sultry too;D
A very political response to the question of "Do you two play videogames?", and a definitive "No, we do not."
@OmegaWeaponX2 Non taken, we're all entitled to an opinion.
And if it was directed to my comment to JunnyBungle, he's my mate.
Damn! They are both sexy. FemShep and Liara FTW.
It's funny she says that because, honestly, I really do think Ali goes both ways irl.
@mujuma LOL:D yeah, she does sound like that in some parts. Like: "Yes, Mordin tell me aaaaall about your time in STG and your work with the... zzzzzzzzzzz..."

Can't spell Liara and Shepard without lesbians.
How could she forget about voicing Cortana?
Jennifer Hale is the voice of Cinderella in Cinderella 3
@knives4cash (BUZZER!) Wrong.
That's Jen Taylor... not Jennifer Hale OR Ali Hillis.
@AuzzieJoey So did I
damn Liara is a snacc i was right to choose her
I was going to say that as well. Then I realized that comment was over a month old.
Ali hillis does not have a attitude she is actually pretty nice :l
@knives4cash check IMDB. I'd post the link, but it's not letting me.
