1:35 He's so right. Don't be afraid to use assists if you need them, but challenge yourself to turn them off and learn the game. I am telling you this as someone who used to hate racing games. 15 years later racing games are my favorite genre and part of it is learning each game and each car. Once you learn to drive without assists on these games just shine.
I don't use traction control and it is just impossible to do it, it's been super frustrating to see everyone pass you because you don't have enough grip
You can do it boss! I do it every race as I use a controller and really suck with tc off or on medium though I'm trying to work on it! The thing is you have to be fast If you don't believe me start a race and right afterwards use the flashback and slowmo to the very very start of the race and full throttle You will gap them each time!! It's just reaction time so to do that with tc off is the real struggle IMO GL BOSS 👌🏼🙏🏼
wheelspin at 5th gear???? Mate you’re putting too much power down. When lights are out, Slowly Increase to 30% shortshift to 2nd. Move to 50%, shortshift to 3rd. Around the middle part of 3rd gear, u should feel the traction and get the power down to 100% and on your overtake button. Hope that helps
After watching this video I noticed my rev lights in-game at launch are not incremental. It doesn't seem to matter how light or heavy my foot is on my pedals. Rev lights are either half or full. When I increase throttle to 11300 RPMS, it goes full red, it doesn't lead up to it dot by dot. Once I go over 11300 RPMs it goes full red & purple flashing. I can't seem to get it in between like you have at 6:24, with all 5 red dots and 1 purple dot. Any ideas? Maybe something in fanalab is interfering?
Best tutorial video. Traction is the worst in this game, never need before and I played f1 2019 with no assist. The excuse that is due the new regulations is b.... , when I play with assetto corsa for example, none of this nonsense happens, plus the AI in f1 22 has more grip than you.
I’m having a problem with my wheel set up? I can’t gain speed and struggle to even get past 5th gear I’m not sure what’s wrong in my settings can anyone help please?????
@@trviis I’ve raced against guys who use full tc In a league and I’ll lose 2-6 places because these guys are flat out from the off to t1 which mean I then have to get back through them and of course they aren’t the most specially aware which means I usually get taken out
It’s funny how the “good” starting example is him being overtaken in a blink
Due, in no small measure, to the AI being ridiculously perfect at launching. 19 out of 20 cars get a flawless start? Not in any GP I've ever seen.
I can race decent with tc off but best I can do with race starts tc off is drop 5 places against 70 ai. And that is after hours of practice.

The AI are so OP. Especially on Monaco, they are god-tier
I use the cockpit view, the amount of input ( rpm ) feels totally different compared to tv pod camera view.
If my throttle goes over 50% before 5th gear I’ve binned it
Extremely unrealistic

Cool. Thanks. I have been driving without TC and the starts are really frustrating
Holy shit these starts are pain in the ass
I’ve literally never used any assists in F1. Maybe I should give it a try, but it kills me to know I’m giving up valuable lap time
I always start the race with medium traction control and turn it off immediately after the start. I got so frustrated
thanks man, exactly what ive searched for
Glad to hear it!

You probably tested this already but try changing your throttle saturation setting. I put mine at about 40 and it helped a lot. :)
@@kimthorsell7795 I did. All set. I also just didn't realize different cars rev lights display different. 100% User error
I can't gear up to 1st at the grid. Every time I gear up, it just goes back neutral... Does anyone has same problem?
You probably have your H shifter in gear if you have one
Thanks for the guide mate
i’ve noticed on your screen the game shifts you up to 1st while stationary but on my game it stays in neutral, how do you do it?
When you hold the clutch before the lights go out it does that on auto, do you just jank the clutch when the lights go out?
People who use med or full are massive OP at race starts
I can't get into first gear until the lights go out. What am I doing wrong here?
Why is every hints video made with the TV cam? I for example drive in VR, and there, proof me wrong if i am, the Rev lights are different I think.
Because like 99% of people drive drive in tv pod
I use medium but only online since there aren't flashbacks
Geez, I just wanna race🙄but my brain hurts from everything else that's involved🤯

How set up your car when qualy dry but the race is wet?
It’s Parc fermé so it’s your decision. I set up the car according to race conditions
Traction controller is killing me on medium on controller.
Do you have any tips for not crashing with other cars at the start ?
Drive as defensively as possible! Especially with CPU, it is very hard to predict their movement 😂
@@OverTake_gg Yesterday - Austria GP - I have to restart 5 times in a row ! Real drama :D
I decided to try f122 as the first f1 game to ever play, and that was probably the worst decision I've ever made

Is this game worth buying. I am still on the fence
Imo this game is better than f1 2021.
@@bock9217 Thanks
Definitely. As a ACC main this is my favorite f1 game
I'm having fun with it
it certainly is better but has huge amount of bugs
LOL binary pedal input.
Especially with TC off? Lmao. It's literally impossible to have a good start with TC on.
As someone who switches between no tc and medium, medium TC is incredibly easy to get good starts on
Not used TC in about 2 years and TC users always get exelent start.
