I always paint my edges, bottom edge included, because that's where I sign my work. ☺️

Feels good that I do the same, Nick. You know collectors are now going to look at the bottom of your paintings! 😂🤣😂🌻

I always paint edges. I want my buyer to feel they can hang as is until, or if they choose to frame. I do all sides too though my work is smaller. So the chance of it hanging up higher to see the bottom is greater.

Now, if/when someone does notice the bottom of the frame you can just tell them that is there to help orientate the owner/viewer to how the piece should be hung. Raw side down. ;)
I'm now interested in wood panels.

I paint the bottom edge on smaller work because when it is hanging, and people are sitting down, they do see it.

    Naughty or lazy? 😁🤔
    Paint the bottom.
