  • Went out for a chill day with the Mid Ohio Jeepers Organization on their monthly ride, and ended up with the modified group! It was a great day on the trails, even with the complications that resulted! And yes, after spending 2+ hours with the garden hose the radiator is back to normal!
    Mods:
    -Rocky Road Super Sliders (rock rails)
    -Dobinsons KL Trailhawk suspension lift, paired with partial Hazard Sky lift spacers to achieve 2.5" lift
    -32" Milestar Patagonia MTs (265/70/17) (had to trim front fenders and pinch welds)
    -40" Rough Country Curved LED DLR Light bar with Hazard Sky mounts
    -Rock Lights (cheapo)
    -4" Pod Lights (cheapo)

    Will you do a trail hawk Rubicon trail at any time? Would love to see that. I got my 2020 Trailhawk elite watching your videos I liked that jeep so muck I bought one same roof as yours too. I have the same size tires as yours except I run the KO2's, I like them alot. I had the lift done by Summit off-road in Prescott. I'm doing little stuff at a time as I go. But I love that jeep first vehicle I got in where I actually had to move the seat forward a little and I'm 6'6 so that was good.next year ill get my roof rack and all my camping gear ready cause I owe my wife some quality time as she had been taking care of me for the last 10 years with a back injury. Just started getting my back surgery cause insurance would not pay for it.what I fight but your videos help me
    Out it gave me some hope and something really fun to look forward too.God Bless. And yes I got the same color But white is one of my favorite colors so that's on me,lol.

      Thanks man, i'm glad you have enjoyed the videos! However, I likely won't ever be doing a "trailhawk ride" on the rubi...simply because it is 2,500 miles away from me, and i don't like to lead rides on trails i'm not familiar with. Second, i'll be lucky if i can ever get my own TH onto that trail. Third, i'm not about to be the bane of existence for everyone else on the trail for those couple/few days...it would be slow going taking a group of TH's that would need spotted every 100 ft...we would be HATED for clogging the trail. I very much expect that if i ever get to run it, i'll be spending a good amount of time pulled off to the side letting traffic by...which is a lot easier with only a few rigs.

    Can you disconnect the back sway bar for more articulation? Does the trailhawk have that option. Great video and thanks for sharing.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can disconnect anything if you try hard enough...but no, not really an option. As our suspension wasn't really designed to go to those distances. Like in the front, if it would drop any further, the CV shaft would be rubbing against a frame bracket. So yes i could disconnect the front, but it would only cause damage to other bits.

    Were you using a Super Soaker or some similar squirt gun in that last scene? Aside from removing mud off your radiator, never know when a squirt gun battle could breakout.

    What psi do you run on your tires when off roading? Didn't really think that would cause much overheating. Handy tip to keep a water gun in the vehicle, if only for the fun.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk

    Nice vid. How long did it take for the trail hawk to cool down? Such a great track!

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It didn't really until the next day when i spent 2 hours with a garden hose to clean out all layers of the radiator. I kept it just below red-line with use of turning the heater on full blast to suck some heat from the engine bay. The initial washing just cooled everything off enough to not be an emergency, once i hit the highway it got hot again.

    • @CowboyRei
      @CowboyRei 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, been there. Took me 3 weeks to get most of the thick mud clay out of mine. Still finding some in nooks and crannies a year later. Needless to say, I don't go out of my way to hit mud pits.

    When you did your lift did you change out the front control arms?im looking at lifts now and leaning towards the gleaming alloy stilettos lift kit.I’ve noticed I’m not seeing front control arms like I do for the rear.also have you seen the gleaming alloy full lift?and what is your opinion if you have?i just got back from doing the holly oaks badge of honor stock in my ‘21 trailhawk it was awesome but definitely drug the bottom a lot.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, there are no options for front control arms, though there may be some random knock-off OEM versions on some of the auto parts sites.
      Yes, i was talking with Gleaming through the development of the rear arms, however they aren't designed to work with the dobs springs as they would lift too much. But they are a great alternative and provide really good clearance!
      I did Holly Oaks this past year with me ex and her gladiator, its on the list to hit this summer in my KL

    Do you run 89 oct? 2015s recommended it but may have changed on 19.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a '17 and this '19, never saw any octane recommendations for either of those. I typically run 87 (in ohio), every blue moon i'll run a tank of the highest octane i can get, but don't really notice any difference.

    Do they ever go back and fill in these ruts on these trails or do people just have to get bigger tires every year

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The axle's and diffs generally carve it down. It only gets bad when it gets wet then all the guys with the larger MT's just dig it out because they don't want to get pulled. Then when it dries up the ruts fill in a bit and 33's can do most of them again for a short time. But there are a couple places that got dug out BAD this past winter. Used to be stock passage, now stocks have to take a sketchy bypass.

    Is the handling still good with the two and a half inch lift? Looks like you can zip around no problem.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its stiffer, so its more responsive. Some people like that, some don't.

      For MOJO most of the trail rides are down around Chillicothe. But there are quite a few members from up your direction. As far as places to go, Southington Offroad Park i've heard is great, just don't go alone. I'm looking to maybe do a ride up there at some point but not sure when. Also look up Ohio Valley Trailhawks.

      Try just doing a search for "Trailhawk Ride"? Date is listed in event title, and the picture is 5 KL's parked in the water. It is an 'open' event so you should be able to see it and such. If not, look up "Ohio Valley Trailhawks" and the event was shared on there.

    Place an ad on Craigslist for an amateur videographer that will exchange their footage for free travel and adventure. Take your videos to a new even higher level.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah...the old "exposure" and expenses doesn't work so well anymore. And Jeep life is expensive enough as it is without paying a video guy to come film me.

      @@FearlessTrailhawk Read my post again. I didn't say pay anyone. In exchange for them giving you the footage they get to go on a free ride and adventure with you. I bet someone would do it. I don't have a clue what you mean by "the old "exposure" ".

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@punktexas its an old joke among amateur/semi-pro artists/media people...getting paid with "exposure" bucks...as in, only getting the experience and adventure, in return for services rendered to help someone else make money. I know many who laugh at the idea. Exposure and experience don't pay the bills.
      And if i'm paying for their travel to/from...that is costing me money to have their services...which the budget considers the same as paying someone for their services.

I did it for fun back a few years ago but I've always wondered if I did monetize it would it have been just stressful or less/not fun? I do enjoy your channel and now I understand, it is what it is.
