Thanks for bringing up I said when Doug first got there, that the 3-4 was hurting us more than helping. Changing to a 4-3 scheme I believe will work wonders for our personal. As far as Trevor I think he struggles throwing under pressure. Our Oline has to be on point this year, even with the additions we are still looking average with not much depth. So I say that to say we go as far as our Olinr will allow. Doug needs to take accountability this year, play calling should be his priority this year.

Personally, I think what made them change was watching San Francisco as good as they were trade for Chase Young then look at Houston how good they turned out to be even being that good the splashes they made in free agency. I think they finally discovered that they did not have the talent that they thought that they had, even with the acquisitions they made both in trade and free agency. This is at best one playoff win team I hope for more as I’m sure we all do , but given how much cap space we have, I truly feel like that they should have done more in free agency. I like the moves they made, but in my opinion, they were the moves that any general manager that did not want to get fired would make none of them were huge signingssignings that helped us a lot. Yes that’s what happens when you need a lot of help.

They didn’t actually have that much money in FA. They’ve been working their asses off to clear up space since then.

I never see a video holding Trevor Lawrence accountable to get better….its always everyone else around him who people make responsible for the rise or fall of the franchise

qb can only do so much. We have seen what trevor can do IF just SOME of the people do their jobs properly. In 2022, Baalke got some talent, Doug was calling plays, oline was competent, receivers were competent, and the defense was competent. And Trevor was a top 10, borderline top 5.
Now look at last year, Doug wasnt calling plays, the oline sucked, their was no talent brought in by Baalke except for ridley ( a rusty receiver with 2 years off), Trevor was hit in every game causing him to miss almost every practice after week 12.
Theres a false reality that a team can have a great QB and they have to elevate everyone around them, and to a point when they have good solid pieces they can do that, but you gotta be surrounded by SOMETHING.
Brady had great defenses, Mahomes has Kelce and Andy Reid, Brees had great defenses, Rivers had LT and Gates. You gotta give them SOMETHING.

Never it's always everyone else's fault. The excuses we make for Trevor can honestly be made for any other QBs in the league.

    • @itsiandee
      @itsiandee 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@@goddonte absolutely. Pretty much every qb can which is why there is only 1 winner each year. Trevor can absolutely get better, but you also have to surround him with pieces to help him get better. Need blocking so he can have enough time to read a defense, need receivers who catch whats thrown their way and run the right routes, need a defense that doesnt give up 350+ yards to back up qbs each week, need an OC that calls plays to highlight trevors strengths.
Trevor has a high ceiling but he can only go as high as the walls around him.

So you never saw Trevor after losses take accountability in press conferences?? He says all the time he needs to play better and protect the ball. However you can't ignore the things that have an impact on how well he plays.

I like Doug because he will call out players for playing at less than 100%. C.J. Henderson and James Robinson.are two examples. I liked the players while they write in the team but respect Doug's leadership

I think the 2023 draft hurt us other than 1st round. We should have taken ocyrus at guard in 2nd round and picked up a edge round 3 and grabbed another center as well. I still think we missed on Georgia's center van pren in the 3rd this year. He is am elite center we could have gotten late then taken Jones with pick 116 bc he probably would have been there. Also think we missed out not trading 48 and next years 3rd to go up and get kool-aid or Cooper but Trent w!s dead set on his strategy. But overall I think we finish season with at least 11 wins and make a good playoff run. Think BTj is going to be a star and its gonna leave the middle of the field open for engram and Etienne. Overall I'm happy but they should have gotten another guard in FA if they weren't gonna draft one. And press Taylor should not be calling plays in tight games

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.....Doug Pederson is the NFL version of Doc Rivers. Both great guys, both beat a legendary duo for a championship(Bill and Tom/Phil and Kobe.... but are you really a great coach? In my personal opinion I say no. There are too many reports of bad practices, coaches leaving early, and players on both sides of the ball not knowing what to do dating all the way back to week 2. You give up play calling to focus on the team, but your team was clueless all year🤔. You then call your players out by saying what are they doing away from the facilities....What is Doug doing at and away from the facilities?

Lmao Doc had 3 HOFers. Doug’s team was full of average guys. Apples and Oranges fam. If KG, Paul Pierce or Ray Allen got hurt during those runs, Doc doesn’t win. Facts. Doug basically overcame that by winning with Foles.
No problem with a coach that’s done it before holding our guys to a higher standard. Being great requires more than on field effort. Our guys clearly were reading their own press clippings like Doug said. Early in the season.
Biggest mistake Doug made was saying, hey it’s built. Followed by the complete refusal to bench Fortner who was clearly the weak link injuries be damned. Remember Bartch was coming back from injury. We threw him out there and he sucked. We benched him. Fortner didn’t even have that excuse and if the team was built why did we not have ONE more person that could play center? THAT be the shyt that makes me question Doug.
Been a LONG time since the Jags had consecutive seasons over .500. The next two seasons will tell.

Just glad you came around to like Trevor Lawrence. Doug taking over play calling is saying enough. Truth of the matter is. Doug is too nice and wanna help staff get opportunities when he can actually lose his job if his staff doesn’t hold up their end. PRESS TAYLOR! They just need to take an Andy Reid Eric Beienemy approach far as playcalling. Step in when needed to to execute and not run countless screen plays.
