Use the control point to travel from Philip to Langston if you have cleansed the control point on the 4th and 1st floor in the Panopticon. Fridge battle starts at 8:40. Quick tips: Upgrade your weapon mods and personal mods to the best you can (under loadout category). I believe I used the Shatter weapon since it had the highest stopping power. I haven't played the game in awhile so I don't know if there's a better one now. Also, in Central Executive (I posted a pic on my instagram/just press x where I stand), you can upgrade your energy, launch and levitation abilities to make it easier for you to defeat this atrocious, definitely most annoying one-eyed creature to have ever existed. Get as close as you can. Launch the orbs right back into his eyeball. When he starts to attack, levitate and evade. Go right when he's attacking with his left tentacle/leg, vice versa. Also, if all possible keep slightly ahead of his attacks so you can be closer to him and attack him immediately when he's done flailing his legs around. When he disappears, listen close and run where you hear him. You want to stay close and not miss the opportunity to attack. Keep your eyes on him. Try not to look around as much as you can. This creture didn't killed me but the hole-shit on the ground is the whole problem with me... Honestly I almost forgot I can fly on the air but the creture took me out of the distraction of this skill.
Hmmm... I just hate losing currency. I have 130,000 rn. After losing 10% dying once instantly to this boss. The fridge almost killed me before the fight, started with a bloody red screen. Didn't want to lose another 13 odd grand.
@@JUSTDR3I he's talking about the source material. Every time you lose the game takes away 10% of your source material. The source material is used to either construct new weapons or to upgrade current weapons.
The huge issue I have with that boss is that when you die, you don't start again at the beginning of the fight. It can take sometimes up to five minutes when enemies spawn on your way to the boss. If you fail multiple times, five minutes plus five minutes plus five minutes... =___=
This game is so frustrating. They recommend to do side missions in order to build your abilities to progress yet some of the side missions (like this one) are not so easy to complete
When he goes to swing, shield up and dodge while levitating. He'll swing 3 times when he really starts goin, just shield if you need to grab health and you should be able to eat a few shots without taking damage.
You can't, because both doors get locked once you're in, so you're stuck in that small area until Phillip is dead and the door to the fridge opens up 😅 (the other remains locked, so you have to go in)

I died three or four times before rage quitting and searching for videos, for anyone struggling this is how I did it: Firstly, upgrade your launch power as much as possible! I didn't know you could launch the orbs back which helped so much, it's pretty easy until the last 20% of his health - make sure you get that upgrade (first one on the right side of the launch list). Try to get as many orbs as you can or the floor will break. It's also super useful running around the corners of the map and levitating when he starts spamming that bullshit tentacle move. The Spin gun saved me at the end, when he went crazy I almost died but I spammed bullets and managed to get him, really underrated weapon mod. It's a bullshit fight for sure though!
What the hell. You can throw those orbs back to the Former?! I shot those using spin which is also very effective. But launching it back makes this boss fight a piece of cake. I beat that thing after 6 or 7 attempts.

First time I played game, I had very hard time with former. I picked up the game again yesterday, today I reached this part. And surprisingly, I beat it easily. My theory is that I had Launch almost fully upgraded, so it dealt much more damage to Former unlike first time.
This is the worst fucking boss in the entire game. The holes it creats fucked me up all the time! And Jesse ain't grabbing the orbs no matter how accurate my aim is..she lauches those rocks and shits..
My biggest issue with this boss is that dying means you resurrect on a control point, have to walk your way to the elevator, take the damn elevator, have that short chat with poor Philip, and enter the fridge room to be able to try again. How long does it take ? Five minutes, maybe more, if some of those annoying enemy soldiers appear on the bridge ? If you get killed many times, that's a lot of time wasted. I'm glad the gamer has the possibility to just... move on to another mission, like the main fucking mission, instead of being trapped in this one. After all, poor Philip is dead as Dillinger, I failed, end of story. Well, THAT story. :D
It's just like I always say about enemies that have the option to be vulnerable. The fight is easy, but mine on the fourth try just did the 3 melee attacks (left, right, left) 5 times. Low health.

Levitate all you want, nothing to come down too... but levitate you must. In what is my personal best in limp endings, I killed it with Spin gun (no luck with Pierce), but didnt even know it... was running back for more health when I finally got the all clear... I was really looking forward to this game for many years, but it never went on sale. Great critical praise, but no one i know ever played it or sequels... Now I know why... between the lost and confused mapping system, "hidden" areas only found if you check an elevator pad and "puzzles" which only a twisted developer would make, i now understand why less than 1/3 of PS4 users got through day 2 of playing (based on trophies). What a genuine waste of a great game concept. Thankfully it was free and its only costing me my pride to keep playing. Best wishes on 2021. Keep saving the day, one video at a time.
I totally agree with the mapping system. I remember taking a break from the game since it gave me a headache but I just couldn't put it down. I loved most of the game. It was unique and pure chaos. Everyone here struggling tons with this boss. I'm just here because I have assist-mode insta-kill on (I got tired of the combat but still want to see how the game goes), and accidentally one-shot the boss lol. I wanted to see what the fight was like.
I used the launch explosives attack on him, took alot of damage after repeating it, got too close and shot him with the grip mod but kept falling down the ground right at the end when his health was low
sadly died 5 times to falling down, until I realized how stupid I am and kept levitating when he keeps attacking with his arms. The orbs are easy to deal with . but thats after I lost so much currency 😢

I can help you with that. See the pillars? Perch on them, don't stay on the ground. By positioning yourself on a pillar when Former starts flailing, instead of pounding a hole into the platform, the pillar will take the impact instead. When he starts flailing, levitate and dash to avoid taking damage. By doing your best to stay on the pillars, you're also safeguarding yourself from falling into a hole, should you accidentally fall off the pillars.

If you have telekinesis maxed out, you can wipe out this abomination in few rounds if you shoot at it 3 cubes at once each time when it is vulnerable.

Happens to me to, every time! Just continually slams the floor when it’s health is really low. Makes it where I can’t get an attack in to finish it.

You have to unlock a certain perk to throw it back. Browse through your upgrades and you'll find it there ;)
