Maybe you could do a career sim of a striker who can't shoot, midfielder who can't pass and a defender who can't defend. Could be interesting to see if they train to different positions or their clubs train their attributes to fit their positions
This is something thatson the horizon in various forms 👍 making tweaks to previous experiments from last year

as a guy who's never bought the editor, the CA has never meant much to me. it'd be cool (especially in the early years) if you could compare their CA to other payers in the league. or just mention a current player who's got the same CA. love the vids from boston ma

I think this experiment proves 2 points:
1 - For GKs professionalism is less important than for outfield players (several experiments proved that ambition was more important for Gks, so that's probably why)
2 - Professionalism (as well as consistency) start to grow naturally at around age 22, I am guessing they do this so youth players are not as OP as in other years, so having experienced players is key to win the most important trophies.
Yeah quite possibly. Definitely a lot of takeaways here and I think mentoring young talents is key
I wouldn't really make those conclusions. Goalkeepers seem to grow the most under any circumstances, potentially because of more games played, or because they have a couple of years longer window for growth or some 3rd factor.
As for hidden attribute growth, I think it's just how SI decided to implement players maturing ingame.

Bath have picked the selves up over Christmas. They drew 0:0 at Dover a week ago. They beat League strugglers Welling 4:0 on the 23rd before a 2:1 victory over Chippenham. There playing Chippenham away next (again!) hopefully we can keep our form.
Also as a Manchester City fan i thoroughly enjoyed United going down

Fraction odds: X/Y, if you put Y on your return is X +Y(stake) so 2/1 returns from a bet of 1 = 3, 1/2 returns 3 from a bet of 2. Great experiment again

Another experiment idea as I don't know if it would work or not: how much does club reputation matter. We all know when we go up the leagues it's hard to sign good players because our club lacks the reputation. So what if a team had the max reputation? I feel it could end up as multiple parts with teams from different levels, maybe a conference team, then championship then prem?
Interesting idea. Sadly rep changes back very quickly but I could keep on top of the sim and max the rep each year or so. Prob need to give a finance boost or something still but I like the idea 👍

Great episode again Jay, looking forward to the next personality test as that fairly loyal personality was annoying, making me think that a lot of these personalities i thought were positive could be far from it.
This test definitely shows that a wonderkid with weak professionalism needs tutoring asap.

Not as bad as I had anticipated, but still pretty bad. Interesting how they fall off a cliff at the end of the career as well although it might be because they never reached that high of a level in the first place. Most other experiments you did they stuck around at least in Championship by the time their transfers went through.
Exactly, but this has been the worst performance on the climb up, then the worst dropoff. The reverse will be interesting

Could you try injury proneness vs natural fitness (e.g. 5 for both vs 15 for both)
I am looking to run an injury prone squad experiment. Comparing against natural fitness is something I might run in some form 👍
The training facilities were very poor for most of Eastleigh's run, hence this would impede player development as well.
Additionally, problem with these deep rosters, those designated as "bench player" early on NEVER develop. There should be a way to allow loans, but still prevent transfers, so that teams can send out players on loan to develop - especially when the team (like Eastleigh) has terrible facilities.
Interesting... loans is something that'd be good yeah. I agree the training facilities may have impacted them, however remember this when the 20 professionalism video drops 👍
Absolutely love the content mate, would love to see what the difference would be for player development being locked at an "always amatuer" club with great facilities against a normal club with piss poor facilities. Think that could be interesting although a bit of a faff on the editor
Always amateur is tricky as professional status is enforced when getting to a certain level. But an interesting idea. If any editor whizzes can advise if tou see this comment, get in touch 👍

i think you should put a team in the first division and relegate them down to the 6th division whilst getting a whole new set of players, with CA of 75 and PA of 200, and facilities, then put the reputation of a club as low as it can and make them always an amateur club

Beginning to think Tony Mowbray is hard coded to go to Everton 😂 In my Plymouth save he actually went to Everton tail end of the first season & went on to win the prem is Season 3 with Everton!

Could you do one of these experiments but with Hashtag united as i think it would be interesting but they do start in the lower leagues?
I'd need to get a lower league database. I am not aversed to the idea, however the issue is I potentially semi pro/amateur clubs. Also it may hinder progression more and therefore not be the fairest test compared to the current tests. I would like to try something from lower tiers though

Model citizens in a squad would almost certainly get there. I have a separate series on personality types and I have already done Model Citizen, check it out 👍

I see the argument why they should. But part of my fascination is how bad the players drop off in their 30s as well

A few seasons of them being able to buy players in preparation for the players leaving will do d club more good
Yeah i get that. I kind of only sim on after they leave just to see, it's more a little outro that has no real basis for what's happened before. No science in it. The science is how far they fall, or how high they manage to maintain themselves
