its not an aggressive attitude... its normal dog behavior to establish pack hierarchy. in a pack, dogs that completely submit without any push back will end up being the "omega". the alpha to omega stuff is kind of a myth, but it is true that weak and submissive dogs in a pack will be bullied and pushed to the side. idk if thats Buck or Oso, but hes doing what he should and not being aggressive but showing normal dog behavior. hes telling Taz that "ya, youre bigger than me and I cant do anything, but im not a wuss."
@@reedy_9619 it honestly just comes down to the big dogs temperament. Az has a fantastic relaxed calm temperament. But I've seen other dogs his size with absolutely zero patience as well. Sometimes it can be trained out of them and sometimes you just have to work around it.
@@reedy_9619my very dominated 8lb dog got shook bad, over a 1000$ at the vet when she wouldn’t listen to our Shepherds warnings and kept trying to take her bone, I was a kid and my mom wasn’t the most knowledgeable dog owner, the little dog did not learn her lesson and was not scared of our gsd afterwards this led to her getting shook a second time. The lesson was still not learned but my mom learned not to give bailey bones without giving Buffy the 8lb Lhasa apso a larger one. Our German shepherd wasn’t a mean dog, she was very smart. The little one bit me way too many times.

I've had some friends turn red and say my dog was attacking their puppies, when in reality their husky had never been around another dog before and my older dog disliked her sprinting in circles indoors 😂

Now that is a gentle giant. I think they’re definitely forming a bond. It’s fascinating to see Az understand instinctively how to establish boundaries with a careful correction rather than attack the other dog. It’s good that he’s got some playmates of stature that he will be able to interact with going forward.
@Michael-cx1zi AZ has also been properly socialized and trained, nate also introduced the dogs prior to filming. They are not trespassers or wild predators. It's all training and Azs natural instinct to show who's boss and king of the hill.
Az is so gentle and laid back. Thats great training with a good disposition. Love all the homestead fur babies. Im sure Minion is sitting on his throne watching the jesters in his court laughing at them. What a great life for a king. And after seeing him carry a tree 10 times his length, shows why he is king!

Judge, the Anatolian shepherd from Raventreeranch, is 36 in (91 cm) at the shoulder & similar weight to Az. Bo, an older dog & same breed, stands at 33 in (84 cm). Az stands probably between 33 to 36 in at the shoulder. Anatolian & Boz shepherds are "cousins".
It's just really funny watching Az oh so delicately nom on the Pyrenees face. XD Just drooling all over him, gently mouthing him, to still show the dominance, but also very calculated to not hurt him. It's really funny.
Amazing the restraint. Such a big guy, you know he could do serious damage, yet he gently plays with the other dog, just like you said, its his friend, so he dosent want to hurt him..I love how the other dog is just kind of sitting there with Az chewing on his head looking like "Oh yes..That is a good point...."
They're animals at the end of the day an will act accordingly by nature. Nate Is educated enough on the subject an has a good heart so the dogs are being dogs with a good knowledgeable owner who's aware an in control of them an can see any warning signs that's may a rise in which he would act an get control of the situation swiftly an responsibly. @XY-uc1tw Turkish Sheppard same as Az ,I'm on waiting list, and I will have to get her right at 8wks as my great Pyrenees won't except unless it's a pup, they are big dogs as u know ,can't have a bigger dog as they would think it's intruder hopefully by spring if not sooner ,need one for top of my property, I have moved my one boy up but he has been with the goat and sheep for so long he just goes back towards back of property I mean they portal all of property but when they are not at the top we have had fox come up the top drive way I mean he only came half way called for spirit as that one was trained if he hears me yell of any sort u come and he does, I literally live in the woods sometimes there alone and he's my boy I'm his fav human lol so he great protector I have no fear in the world to be out there at night I have faith so much trust my life with those dogs

Dogs definitely take into consideration whether they're dealing with puppies or even just relatively young dogs. At least in my experience. I have an older dog who really does not like other dogs. Found a stray last week, a grown dog twice his size, and had to keep it in the garage until I rehomed it because he was dead set on eating the poor thing. I mean he was fighting me to get out there just to run it off. But when the same thing happened with two lab puppies a few months ago, I kept them in the house and he just absolutely ignored them unless they really bothered him directly and then he'd snap and growl to warn them off then go back to ignoring them. My uncle has a dog around his size, an intact male no less, but is only a few months old and still acts like a puppy. He treats that one the same way he did the little ones. Just ignores him until he gets really annoying then corrects him and lets it go. Fascinating creatures. I've kept dogs all my life been around hundreds and never known any to hurt puppies. I've known some that would even go for small dogs but not puppies. I'm sure it happens but it seems pretty rare they definitely give them a lot of leeway just for being young
Az is one of the sweetest natured dogs I've ever seen. His curiosity about other lives is incredible (e.g. _his_ pet frog), and he seems to have endless patience for those younger and smaller than himself. But gawd help anyone/thing who threatens his family (regardless of species). He's strong enough to tear any attacker apart! You've done yet another awesome job when it comes to training, mate. Maybe in the future you could offer livestock guardian puppy training? Take the pup in for a couple of months and have Az guide them, and at the end you train the owners in how to continue on.

Pups are no where full size...they might never get as tall but they will be close in height and weight by age 2... Az is a good boy...and he's not full grown either...the only one up the GPs have on AZ is the thick fur which is their protection

It's not aggressive, it's defensive. Some dude come up to you and starts groping and hugging you you're not gonna like it either

Dogs will usually give younger dogs a pass (with some warning lessons), but when they reach a certain age.. stuff doesn't fly the same anymore

A fully grown pure great Pyranees are massive, at least 3-4 times bigger than this one.
Az is literally the same size as the largest wild wolf in history
