It's good that our club is getting more exposure since he took over, i have been an Ajax fan since 2001, and i will say that in my 22 years of becoming a fan, Ten Hag is probably the best coach we have had in the past 2 decade, he literally resurrect Ajax in Europe and let the world felt our presence again. It's really sad that he's leaving for Man Utd ( as expected sooner or later he would leave us ) as we have been a farmer for the other big clubs, but still it was an unbelievable 4 years of beautiful memories Thank you Ten Hag, we will never forget UCL 2018!
Over the years I have come to appreciate ajax. Truthfully since the emergence of ziyech and de jong Im a die hard Man U fan and I’m pretty excited about our coming future Under his system and I’m also happy about the exposure it brings you guys.
I came back to remind myself what ten hag is all about. First and foremost , his ajax team was full of hardworking selfless players who never stopped running. The whole team functioned like one brain.

If you guys noticed, Ziyech was involved in almost every attack, he was crazy valuable for Ajax, more than anyone at Ajax the last 20 years. Sad to see him play at Chelsea that doesn't know how to use him. He'd fit perfectly with Barcelona, he could become a hero there.

you can see a clear difference with this side and uniteds. when they start passing in the midfield they dont have a bruno trying to spam balls over the top disrupting flow of play. and they dont have a rashford that gets the ball and tries to run past 5 players all by himself in turn losing the ball creating multiple turnovers. also in that ajax team the players pass and move into space. pass, move, pass, move. at united its pass stand still ask for the ball and pass back.

This style of football is similar to what Rangnick has implemented at Man Utd. The only difference is that Ajax are more efficient and take their chances unlike Man U who waste clear cut chances. Rangnick is not a great manager but he is a fantastic coach and technical organiser. Ten Hag is a great manager and there may already be a frame work there for him to work with as the players may have already been getting that sort of coaching. Utd may just need 4 players that can make the team play a little better as a whole. Just wait and see.

This is not actually tikitaka but very close. This is called combination football. Dutch players are molded into this playstyle. Tikitaka - ball possession. Ball is moved up field by using the whole team, rapid passing and slowly moving up with majority of the team. Combination football - ball possession too. P1 pass to P2 and then make a run. P2 pass to P3 who delivers to P1 who took new position further up field. = Combination football. Few can do it, if others just take runs without the ball.

It is easier to play tika tika is a softer league with lower level opposition. Looks nice, but it won't be so so easy to be consistent against better opponents. The EPL is fast and physical. You need a much higher level players to play this kind of style and a manager who is able to adapt tactics quickly. Ten Hag realized quickly that his style wasn't translating well into the EPL, so he went back to Ole's 4231 counter and has stuck with it into his 3rd year.

I still can't believe this was Ten haag's Ajax compared to the Man utd he is currently managing. I think Man utd players just have certain moods and attitudes to play Ten haags tactics according to their comfort, the mentality should change. This guy would fail so bad at United. Not because he is a bad coach but because our players cant string five good, accurate, appropriately weighted passes together, never mind passing it up across the length of the field.
They players cannot string those passes together because they simply do not have the coaches to allow them to do it. Players like Pogba and Varane are some of the most technical players in the world but they are in a team right now that does not know how to do it.
Teams like this are made for players like Sancho and VDB. I thought Ole would be wise and build a second team with an alternative style around Sancho, VDB, Mata and Lingard playing like this. When that core is built, then you can plug in players like Bruno, CR7 and Cavani to give the team better end product. We would have had us 2 teams that play differently to confuse opponents with. Instead we are struggling with small teams, playing disjointedly and relying on individual brilliance and luck.

This guy would fail so bad at United. Not because he is a bad coach but because our players cant string five good, accurate, appropriately weighted passes together, never mind passing it up across the length of the field.
They players cannot string those passes together because they simply do not have the coaches to allow them to do it.

Teams like this are made for players like Sancho and VDB. I thought Ole would be wise and build a second team with an alternative style around Sancho, VDB, Mata and Lingard playing like this. When that core is built, then you can plug in players like Bruno, CR7 and Cavani to give the team better end product. We would have had us 2 teams that play differently to confuse opponents with. Instead we are struggling with small teams, playing disjointedly and relying on individual brilliance and luck.
