    Thank you we as family of 5 also looking at the splash. Think swing is a bit to small but want to see if i can get the caravan a bit higher

      Hi JP you can go for the Swing with an added room outside or perhaps a small tent. Whatever the children ages are for now they will grow and they won't fit in the Splash. It also depends on your budget to get a bigger caravan that can acommodate everyone. Regarding the ground clearance, yes the Splash is a bit low to the ground and it is long at the back, so I used to bump the back here and there. As you saw on the video it is possible to lift it a bit but not too much.

      @@bananacamper i watched other videos i see you have gotten a other caravan. My kids are 4;6;8 was hoping not to have to always setup big tent for just weekend and first night all must sleep inside. Budget i am not spending more than 100k for something that stands most its life and wife is keen now but camping is not easy for woman usually

      Hi JP, based on your budget I believe the Splash is the best choice. Yes I got a Quantum now and I'm traveling a lot with it. I recommend that you consider doing some modification to the Splash perhaps adding a bunk bed at the back. If you are in Joburg area I can recommend CMC Caravans in Roodepoort, you can chat to Johan there. cmccaravans.co.za/contact-us/

    Hi, thanks for the tips. Can you remember what the newtons are for the gas lifters you used to keep the bed storage lid open?

    • @bananacamper
      @bananacamper  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Leon , I don’t remember it no. It was fitted by Loftus Caravan. I have also fitted the shocks in my new Quantum. When I have the chance I can check it for you.

    Thanks for the suggestions in your video. I have an identical Splash and will try your trick for the leaking front compartment. I also have the same issue with the indicators on my Ranger flashing fast. Would also like to investigate lifting it. I wonder if it will make the tents side and front too short though.

    • @bananacamper

      After a heavy rain last weekend dragging the van I must say the trick for the nose did not fix the problem completely, but it is a lot better than before. Also after some time the rubber is no longer sticking. I’ll buy a thicker rubber and will also apply some glue to keep it in place. For the tents the lifting didn’t make any difference, often you camp in a uneven ground anyway. I use the rally tent only for most of the time, very rarely I set up the full tent. Sorry for the late reply.

      @@bananacamper Thanks. Agree 100% on the uneven ground at most campsites. Am trying to find a honest dealer in the Western Cape to do the lift. Not an easy task.

      @@daddycool_za459 it took my over a year to make my mind around the suspension lifting. Yes it is not an easy task but can be done. Try to find someone who have done it in the past. Just a note on the nose sealing: after a heavy rain last weekend I still got a bit of water in it. Today I removed that rubber and fitter a wider one and also applied some contact glue, bought it all from Builders Warehouse. I hope it solves the problem now. Cheers.

    Good day, I like the improvements that you had done. I also drive an Everest and is looking for the same removable tow hitch like yours. Where did you bought yours from. I am in Pretoria East

      Hi Jan, I got mine done at Rhinobar rhinobar.co.za/, they manufacture their towbars and the did the custom tow hitch for me. They are a bit far for you (Brakpan). Check if you can find it somewhere closer to you otherwise reach out to Rhino Bar.

    Hi Sir, ive just bought a sprite super sport caravan. thanks to you for motivating me by giving these valuable lessons. i need all the advice i can get from you, also infact mentoring as i just start. id like to know where you put in the mechanism that holds the tando stabiliser. who did it for you. also, one handle in my window is broken so where can i get a new one, infact where do you buy parts. thanks

    • @bananacamper
      @bananacamper  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Karabo welcome to the channel. I installed the stabiliser myself. Initially the hook attached to the caravan was too low so I had to move it up slightly otherwise it would hit speed humps. Maybe try towing without the stabiliser and see how it goes before you fit it. In my case it made a huge difference. For the parts, where do you stay? Let me know , maybe I can recommend a caravan shop.

    Hi, I've just bought a sprite splash, where did you get the spare wheel bracket?

    • @bananacamper
      @bananacamper  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought it from www.cj-aircons.co.za/ they came and fitted it at my house. I also saw it at Kempton Park Caravans. When fitting it make sure it is on the right side of the caravan otherwise the plate that goes under the bed will get on the way of the porta potty (if you have one and store it under the bed, that little door there).
