Hi friends! I'm Jennifer, a fifty-something wife and mother of 7 children ages 9 - 25. We are Catholic. We homeschool. We cook from scratch. We farm cranberries. We drink coffee. We advocate for Down syndrome awareness. We are loud. We are chaotic.
Here I'll share vlogs about all these things, what I'm doing that works and what I've tried but didn't work. I hope to encourage you in your journey through motherhood, homeschooling, learning to cook, and growing in your faith through it all.

I have a young friend who is currently carrying conjoined twins. They cannot be separated because they share a heart and other organs. She is a devout Catholic, as is her husband. She was pressured to abort the babies, even by a Catholic hospital which said they wouldn’t do it but would send her somewhere else. She and her husband are committed to giving the babies the best life they can while they are here. I am sure she is afraid, especially because the girls have to be delivered by c-section. She is prayerful and trusting God. What an example for all of us. LifeSite News recently did an interview with her if you want to here her story. By the way, it is scary to be carrying and delivering a child without disabilities. You just need to pray, pray, pray., before they are born but especially after.

Thank you for sharing this … I will be praying for this lady and her family. Yes, it was scary just being pregnant with a healthy baby. Oh my goodness… please let us know how things go. How far song is she?

@@cumberlandquiltchic1 A c-section was necessary because of their condition and originally scheduled for June 2. The Friday before Mother’s Day she learned their growth had stopped and their heart was slowing down so the surgery was pushed up to May 16. She delivered them alive which is what she wanted so they could be Baptized. They were Baptized and Confirmed and died a little more than an hour after birth. So the parents have two little saints in Heaven, Maria Therese and Rachel Clair. The funeral was yesterday and was quite beautiful. She is such a strong, brave young woman but prayers will be needed as she and her husband go through the stages of grief.

My 94 year old mother who is also Catholic loves St. Theresa & would always be reading something about her when she could see. I know she would like to hear that young people are still reading about her. I will have to tell her.

My Dad is 93, he goes to church as much as he can. Devoted Catholic. Has many friends within his church that are able to get him there. His favorite saying, Is God Bless you & your whole family. Just love it.

My husband's uncle had Down Syndrome. He lived with us after the last of his family passed. People from all over would stop to talk or bring him pictures they happen to find. Talk about places that hired him to sweep or clean tables. He could not talk yet everyone understood him. He lived to be 69 years old. To us he was a blessing.

Through your videos I see how hard Warren works on the farm. He is a good provider for his family as well as your family supports and helps with the cranberry farm too. It is definitely a huge dedication on everyone’s part. I am Catholic too and it’s your faith that helps to keep it all together. God bless you and your beautiful family.

Jennifer pertaining to doing something to the bread when freezing and thawing and using untill all eaten. Years ago the manager at the day old bread store taught me to put a paper towel in the bag and close it If freezing do this then just put the frozen bag or bread or buns. Let it thaw on counter. Do not remove the paper towel until the bag is empty. Same if using immediately. Then paper towel will absorb the moisture. Then re distribute it in the bread. Also if you live in a humid area will not mold as fast on the counter. Have done this since the 80's never any problems. Good luck to whom ever asked the question about bread.

When I take bread out to thaw I turn it every so often as it is thawing. It seems to help the ice crystals absorb evenly in the bread so it doesn;t get too dry or too soggy anywhere. Hope this helps someone.

Hi Jennifer, Warren and sweet family! I like bed the explanation that you and Warren had on having more children after Joesph. My youngest brother was born with a disability, but as siblings we never seen a disability in our eyes. It was a normal everyday life since we didn’t know any different.
God gives us a blessing when a child is born, we are the chosen ones to raise that child. My youngest has a disability and has overcome many obstacles. I just pray that as a parent, it may be hard at times, but the sheer love and joy children bring in our lives, no one would ever abort because of a disability.
    Have a blessed night!

Thanks for answering my questions. I definitely could see how younger siblings would be helpful for so many reasons. My advice for anyone going through a challenging situation where fear begins to overtake you is, God gives you the answers and strength as you need it. Initially I tried to come to terms with a child who would not have the life I had imagined for her. Never a mother, no first boyfriends, no cheerleading or sports. Then the realization of her never being independent. I've learned don't worry about tomorrow's struggles. God will provide the answers and peace you need for each chapter. She is now 28. She lives in a home with 3 other ladies and she has 24 hour care. Above all things, she is happy! It's hard for us, but best for her. And that's what we do as parents, right?
I love your family. And you really do a great job with Joe. I love seeing Maria now start to step into a role of helping him more. ❤️
I hope you got new sheets 😊 love and prayers from New Mexico.

I don't know to this day what it was what it is.. but I think he just a slow learner.. He eventually went to school.. Had personal attention with School and To teach him Every day things.. like toilet training and brushing his teeth..that sort of thing.. Little did we know he was smart.. Just needed the tools . He graduated high school.. It was the most Proudest Moment of his Life..and Ours Well!! ❤ Thank you for sharing that Question and Your Response.. 😊

I've used the free and clear dryer sheets before, I liked them too mostly because you smell your laundry detergent instead of a conglomeration of smells.
I know it was the laundry soap because I never use fabric softener.
Fabric softener builds up on your clothes, especially towels and the towels become less absorbent, then you have to clean them in strong vinegar and hot water to remove residue.
So I just stopped and now only use dryer sheets

Lol, but I drive…. I’m kinda old and lazy… and buy a lot when I shop? Kinda need to have extra for ??? Who show up and needs a meal, or what I need to drive down the road for my parents? ( we are also Catholic, and we all observe Lent and simple meatless meals on Fridays ) I also often prep/cook for three at home, as well a few meals for my parents and my sister, a few times a week…. (Usually I take my parents to many Dr appointments and have lunch with them. (Also help with grocery shopping, cleaning/laundry, exercise/health needs etc.) lol my mother is loosing her vision, but oh my she can some how read all the grocery adds??? Lol I shop Aldi for most all, and run to maybe Walmart for the rest?… opps…. Correction…. I do go to a shop for fresh kinds of Deli meats and cheese they often want.
I will have extra family ( daughter home from DePaul, as well as our sone and daughter in law here from Ann Arbor Mi. This weekend…. Lol mean while my husband and son will be on a collage visit to Xavier in Cincinnati Ohio. ( a so far wonderful Catholic / Jesuit University our son is wanting to attend)….

I have over 2000 books on my kindle and read a lot.
The reason I don't like audio books is most of the time the voice and cadence of the narrator doesn't appeal to me.
