We love love love lotting up romance novels. Just a tip for those of you who have many to lot up. Western ranch cowboy themed novels lot up extremely well, and if you keep in mind that the new season of Yellowstone starts 11/13, these should be prioritized for listing and priced up a little. That show definitely gave us a spike in cowboy romance novels sales in the past. Love your videos.
OMG! My husband and I did almost the exact same thing. Except for us it was Christain nonfiction. We were able to purchase a seminary's entire bookstore and library. Honestly, we have no idea how many books we bought but, so far, we've put up over 2,000 titles and it feels like we are just pecking away at Mount Everest. Several time we've looked at each other, burst out laughing because we must have lost our minds! But it is so very nice to have inventory just waiting to be listed instead of having to haunt thrift stores and estate sales and such. Good luck to you and I definitely feel your pain! 📚

Pay attention to the color of the sides of the pages. The pages that have red on the sides get more money, also if you find Nora Roberts or certain authors that are older people collect and will pay more for those also. I just sold my last big set of red pages bundle.

Love it! I used to do Ebay about 20 years ago. My main focus was used football equipment and I happened to catch one school at the right time that was getting all new uniforms and other equipment. I had to rent a UHaul to get all of the jerseys, pants, shoulder pads, etc. Spent $1000 on all of it and had to store it in my bedroom since I didn't have a storage shed at the time. Needless to say, I made my money back very quickly and still had a lot left over. Unfortunately, there were too many weirdos buying this stuff (I won't even repeat some of the statements/questions I got, lol....but they may have been the basis for some of the books you just bought!). I ended up discarding/donating what I didn't want to sell any longer.
So the don't need to buy books until the end of the year meant... unless a find a really big haul! Ha ha love it. You could start a new store just for mills and boon... I have so many names coming to mind 😄
Biggest buy I’ve done is approx 20,000 books. Filled an entire 20 foot uhaul and took an entire day to move. Have a lot of them still to look through a year later. Big deals are a lot of fun, and a lot of work.

Yay Great Haul! In October I picked up a large lot of give away books similar to those Nowhere near 10000 though lol Have sold so many bundles also! My latest crazy was picking up a box and 2 totes of vintage sheet music Got there to pick it up and was so thankful my son was with me There were actually 4 boxes and 6 totes full It has been a huge learning curve; still listing and trying to balance out all my other listing as you are. Yes when inventory is provided (in my case it was free) you have to jump on it Great haul
Well done! Some of the sheet music can sell for really great money, that’s a great niche to sell in. I’d like to do a haul of sheet music to learn more about it and what sells best. Sometimes the big hauls teach us the most!
It took 2 days to sort; turns out to be a former choir teacher/community choir director There were over 11 bags of "trash" Mimeographed music which many people wouldn't know was; stuff copied from ditto machines It is crazy It was free; we are closing in on the first $100 and still have 3 totes to list Big hauls do teach us the most!

When you buy a collection like this with your knowledge it does feel like its not 10K different items but more like 500-1000 items aka bundles and that is way less overwhelming feeling then 10K individual listings.

That was a nice haul for you Mel, and they look in nice condition too. Did you go through to pick out the 10, 000 in lots that you wanted, or were they already in bundles? With your knowledge on selling them, it would be good if you could grab more every few weeks or something, depending on the time frame that she wants them gone in.
She chose the ones I could have but they were all in sets and order so the boxes are packed into sets which will make it easier for me to just open a box and get it listed. Less work sorting them for me.

It’s ok, I packed the boxes and they’re a manageable weight and I used my trolley to move them all. The boys can keep bringing them from the house to the shed for me when I need more. I was careful and wasn’t sore after this big haul x

Well done! Some of the sheet music can sell for really great money, that’s a great niche to sell in. I’d like to do a haul of sheet music to learn more about it and what sells best. Sometimes the big hauls teach us the most!
It took 2 days to sort; turns out to be a former choir teacher/community choir director There were over 11 bags of "trash" Mimeographed music which many people wouldn't know was; stuff copied from ditto machines It is crazy It was free; we are closing in on the first $100 and still have 3 totes to list Big hauls do teach us the most!

Jeeze... 10,000 books... I remember you going to that massive book sale and saying, you wouldn't need to buy anymore books for the offseason.... that aged well. LOL
Ha ha I know! I’m glad I have those though because I can alternate what I’m listing without needing to source regularly at the thrift stores

I once purchased a collection of 70,000 records. They were delivered in a full tracker trailer truck haha
When you buy a collection like this with your knowledge it does feel like its not 10K different items but more like 500-1000 items aka bundles and that is way less overwhelming feeling then 10K individual listings.
Just finished the whole video, I think I really enjoyed this one. Buying giant collections has always been my favorite way to source merchandise.
Hello Mel I am opening my first eBay store. I heard a way of getting banned is by listing to many books etc. I am starting with basic plan 250 items. Before I start I want to make no mistakes like getting banned
That was a nice haul for you Mel, and they look in nice condition too. Did you go through to pick out the 10, 000 in lots that you wanted, or were they already in bundles? With your knowledge on selling them, it would be good if you could grab more every few weeks or something, depending on the time frame that she wants them gone in.
She chose the ones I could have but they were all in sets and order so the boxes are packed into sets which will make it easier for me to just open a box and get it listed. Less work sorting them for me.

It’s ok, I packed the boxes and they’re a manageable weight and I used my trolley to move them all. The boys can keep bringing them from the house to the shed for me when I need more. I was careful and wasn’t sore after this big haul x
Mel the only thing I would say is personally and this is just me a wouldn't count the money on camera. But that's me I am paranoid when it comes to things like that. Great video. Hope your feeling a bit better physically as well.
The money went straight to the seller and I didn’t publicly share her as she didn’t want her whole house exposed. All good, I don’t keep cash on me ever :)

Yes. Harlequin and Mills and Boon merged in the 70’s. So this collection is a mix of both.
