I love that when you are under water or in a cave you add a sound filter. It's a nice touch
Spend your stat points before you unlock engrams. Your level won't be reflected until you do.
OQa
Tips, axe for hide, smooth round river rocks for early game metal, club is best for early K.O., tame a parasaur asap for berrys and huge carry weight, sickle only gathers fibre, make 4 walls and 4 fence foundations for a mobile trap for small dinos, bola, build trap around. Trikes have armored face, turtles have armored shells= less or no damage/topor. put torch on belt to free up hands, don't take rafts in deep water leeds attack, sarco and kapro can pull you off a raft. put your monkey on attack my target, he will throw poop slowing your enemy. empty beaver dams or they will not respawn. I whip can pick 5 times your weight. Always have dinos on passive on a raft or disaster ensues., hide sail on raft for better visibility. Dimorphs ignore armor, don't attack, all babys can be passived tame if you kill mom. Create a tribe so you have a tribe log, to see if dino's died. 7k hours here and all no B.S. advice
Good luck and love to see you playing this!
Watching Tem sail the raft over open water is nerve wracking, I can't wait for his first leedsichthys scare
Sssshhhhhh, don't tell! It needs to be a surprise😂
Land of the Lost theme song going through my head as he's sailing his raft down the river.
Leeds attack the raft, sarcos will attack everything on the raft including picking off the player or tames😂
“Attack your target” will still have the Dino defend you if you are attacked. “Neutral” is the better option. They will only defend themselves if attacked. “Passive” keeps them from moving from where you place them. This is handy when you are on the raft
No, Neutral makes them defend the player. Attack your target they also go in as soon as the player attacks.
@@MrNajsman correct neutral means exactly that. Dinos chill until you, itself, or a friendly is touched. Attack my target means your dino will hit whatever your attacking or aiming at when you whistle
‘Sorry, I pooped myself again. I’m kinda nervous’ 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love that you’re trying Ark again. It really is such an amazing game once you get the hang of things! PS; put rotten meat in the last slot on your hot bar. Pretty sure whenever the little thief boys hit you, that’s what they take (unless they’ve changed that lol)
Accidents happen 😁
@@GunsNerdsandSteel If you put berrys (mejo) in the last slot you can tame him if he stills your stuff. It is called a Pego
@@GunsNerdsandSteel Camera man is awesome keep this it's unique and pretty cool to watch.
Wtf you talking about
I like to use Parasaurs as early game "Trucks" for hauling resources I harvest. Easy to tame, faster than trikes, carry a lot.
Downside with paras over trikes is paras are useless in combat, trikes can defend themselves if you get attacked by raptors or a carno while moving stuff around.
Tip for getting spoiled meat fast is to separate the meat into stacks of 1. The way the spoil system works is by spoiling 1 at a time per stack. So by separating them you get tons of spoiled meat for narco. (also I've always done carry weight and agility/stamina, being able to out run certain dinos early game comes in clutch.)
Can't wait for this series! If you ever find yourself not enjoying the game breaks can be helpful because it's easy to lose track of time and play the game for 8 hours.
For a more fun experience, you will want to crank up the taming/breeding/maturing rates. It can take hours and hours to tame high level dinos
Edit: To further clarify, as @gamergravyky pointed out - you definitely will want to tweak all the other stats as well, I would recommend 5x on everything except the Taming/Breeding/Maturing, on those you'll want 15-20x to make the game much more enjoyable for a solo play!
This! Ark is a wonderful game but don’t feel obligated to play with the set in stone game options as they’re meant for PvP. There’s tons of stuff you can Increase that’ll make the viewer experience (and creator experience) much better
@@Happylachia 100% agree!
100%
taming and breeding is fine on 5x or 10x tbh
Yea considering one get beyond Raptor level you are talking about 1-2+ hours each tame which IMO is just too long.
Haven't played Ark in several years, but this looks absolutely gorgeous.
It's amazing to think, this is what ue5 games should all look like soon.. it takes a beefy computer and dlss to get great frame rates but it's easily one of the prettiest games out now
I'm not sure if it's been said yet, but here's a few tips for what dinos are best at resource gathering: Beavers for wood, Parasaurs and Trikes for berries, Ankylosaurs for mining I believe, Argentavis' are good for hauling obsidian and iron ore (they also act as mobile furnaces iirc and are able to pick up smaller dinosaurs to carry them). If you find more Lystrasaurus' tame a few, if you pet them then any dino in a certain radius will get an XP boost.
Paras and trikes are good for early game berry farming but they're far from the most efficient overall, later in the game they're way outclassed by therizinosaurs. Beavers correct. Ankys correct, they're best for metal and also really good for flint. Argies are great overall workhorse mounts, they don't act as mobile furnaces but they DO act as mobile smithies, you can craft mid game gear in their inventory but they don't smelt metal. I'd tame one and level weight and stamina to use for resource runs and another one and level health and damage as a combat mount, they're strong in both roles. One thing not mentioned is stone, for harvesting stone efficiently the animal you want is doedicurus, they harvest it fast and get a whopping 75% reduction in weight for that resource.
Very much appreciate the 'non-pro' aspect. Let's face it, there's enough of those in ARK already. I have a feeling though, you'll do well if you stick with it. Good luck Tem!
Could you time lapse me into getting out of bed and making breakfast so I can just skip to finish watching the video?
So glad you are trying ark again, I’m currently obsessed with it and really hope you enjoy it, if you don’t that’s fine, you have plenty of other great content to watch 😊
Game looks amazing! I haven't played much Ark, and not this latest version, but after seeing this I think I need to explore this iteration of Ark. Thanks Tem! I'm looking forward to more to see what all you get up to in this one!
41:51 If Spanky is alive, you can track him from the tracking tab.
Also it is best to put dinos on your raft on passive, to avoid them jumping off.
Really happy yer playing ARK, i want to just go nuts and offer tons of advice, but i think its kinda fun watching you learn it all. Thanks for this.
OMFG WHAT HE PICKED UR MONKEY OFF UR SHOULDER!!! lmaoooo thats definitely new
Small, smooth rocks near or in the creeks, rivers are a great source of early metal. I think it’s only 1 metal Ingot for a metal pick if I remember correctly. Haven’t been on ASA just yet to see if the recipe is the same. With the graphic updates I’d check the small rocks they may not just be smooth any longer.
There are no more smooth rocks near the water. You're thinking of ASE.
@@kamar1171there are smooth rocks in Asa but they look a little different.. still smoother than the others though.. They're always oval shaped and low to the ground
@@kamar1171 wrong
Omg I’m so excited for this series!!! Thank you Tem!! 🙏🔥🔥
Dood happy to see you playing ark good luck on the series and hoping for more episodes
Excited for this one! Thanks GNS!
Glad to see you playing this, I'll definitely be watching this series.
So glad you're playing ark hope you continue this!!
It used to be movement speed and weight first, but they got rid of speed leveling. You want to level up weight, stamina, fortitude and health.
there is an option in single player (or server settings if you're hosting) to allow speed leveling. Dino and player speed leveling are separate options... so it's disabled by default but you can enable it
ah the dino traversing the mountainside... should now and forever be known as a Parkour-a-saurus
“I’ll do what is fun and practical”
What a coincidence that’s why I’m here, it’s fun seeing experienced old ark players play but I find it more entertaining if it’s fairly new or people who don’t play that often
Great episode! The chaos was absolutely hilarious 😂
So excited you are playing this!!!!!! From stats. Weight is number 1. I'd say some melee and health will be the other ones. Don't bother with water or food or oxygen. Weight will be your biggest issue until you get into good dinos to carry stuff. Put a bed on your raft so if you die you spawn there as an option. I'd put your dinos on passive while traveling on the boat so they don't attack anything and jump off. Otherwise keep them on neutral
It was funny seeing you so discombobulated when you are usually very calm. Looking forward to watching and learning.
Amazing quality video. Best regards from Brazil. Keep them coming.
Yesss I was hoping for this.
Love to see you doing Ark!
I love your 7 Days content and am excited to see you picked up this game and look forward to more.
Finally GNS, i am gonna love this.
Wow. I can watch this even if it is 10 hours. I wish other ark content makers make their videos like this. Thank you for the quality video.
you mean like NOT make a bed asap so you can respawn if you die? yeah, he's really good
U must never heard of syntac
Try butch he's 20 odd episodes in he never played ark b4 each episode is like 50mins long and he's funny
@@Foreverking1995 syntacs editing is not this good
@@z-lover6332 idk man but that’s your opinion
The food you feed dinos to tame effects the taming efficiency. Better efficiency means they get more levels when they tame. Best food is usually Kibble, which you are a ways from making. Otherwise it's raw Prime Meat for carnivores, Raw Prime Fish Meat for fish eaters, Mejoberry or veggies for Herbivores. Other berries are used for feeding the tame herbivores. Axe and Pickaxe can both be used for gathering most things. Pickaxe gets you more flint, Axe will get you more stone. Resources do regenerate over time, but there is a dead zone around structures you build. The size of the dead zone is in your settings. Spend your attribute points first, as that is what actually increases your level, then buy engrams. There is a whole lot to Ark that is "hidden" and trying to just learn as you go is a nightmare, especially if you are playing solo. If you want to do a series for Ark (I think you would do a fantastic job of one BTW), I recommend you play with someone who knows how the game works off camera to learn the ropes. It's the little things that can kill you in Ark. Side Note: Those little thieving dinos usually steal whatever is in your right most quickbar slot first. If you put Mejoberries in that slot, they will steal them, eat them, and then tame.
wow great video, hope to see a lot of this series, been fun to revisit ark. loving the cinematic views
Yeeeeess!!!! I’ve been hoping to see you play Ark!!! Best content created playing my favorite game!
Great episode, excited for the new series
LETS GOOO NEW SERIES 🔥🔥❤❤
This looks amazing! I would love to see you go through what your set up is like
This was great looking forward to seeing more
Love the videos man. Keep up the great content
Amazing work, that was so fun to watch.
A little QoL tip:
Use the "F" key to access the Forge, Fire, etc., to avoid turning them off/on. AND also using the "F" key while you are riding a mount, will open their inventory, and double tapping "F" will get "The Monkey off your back".
Glad to see you playing ARK: SA! Looking for many more episodes!
This was so much fun! Please keep making more episodes!
a great beach Bob video. thanks for the content man
fortitude will keep you cool and warm. its important to level as well
The Eagle-like Argentavis is the best for Metal gathering. Just go all the way to the mountains on foot and tame one XD
They've added baby dinos. If you kill the parents you can claim the babies. They grow super fast once you claim them. Just make sure to give them food to grow.
Its good to see a non biased take on ASA. Hope you continue this for a while.
Really enjoy your editing style . Long time viewer. Keep up the good work!
alright i will love this series
used to play this all the time
This was really fun to watch please keep the vids goin
I can't believe how good this game looks.
Great Content, Laughing, Cheering and enjoying every minute. Thanks again.
I got super excited when you said at twitch com you were doing an ASA play through. My favorite content creator and one of my favorite games of all time. It will be fun watching you learn your way through this.
Hope I can do the game justice! I'm pretty committed this time around to really learn the game and delve deep into the complex mechanics
Round/river rocks are a good way to get iron early on(on the original version it was), keep an eye for them.
I LOVE that you are trying an old game, but is new for you! Love when you don't have the knowledge for the game, makes teh series even more interesting.
It's certainly refreshing to jump into something new!
Videos like this one show your Army significantly.
love the montage!
buddy you are awesome i just started watching your icarus vids and it made me get it keep doing what you do 💯
Just so fast with the bird Murder. Just speedran Burder
For anyone watching this and wondering if you can level speed on your character and on flyers, you still can on a solo world. You just have to enable it in the menu settings. I'm unsure if this also applies to all dinos, or just flyers. You can pretty much configure single player and custom servers exactly as you could before with ark survival evolved. I believe it's only official servers that have speed disabled.
Literal favorite gaming content creator covering my favorite game. Today is a good day.
The cooking pot and custom food recipes using a note in the cooking pot can make some really good food with just normal berries and some raw/cooked meat
Love that your playing this! A must watch for sure
I have it on a good authority that several raptors are called a murder of raptors. 😀
Oh hell yeah!
Good stuff. Night time is very dark thou. not easy to see anything. Thanks for great content!
That was true comedy the thief stealing a berry and being tamed and needing to be named while you were being attacked by the beavers😂
Fairly sure it's a murder of raptors ;)
The slingshot does knockout damage using stones as ammo, so is useful for low-level tames.
Ooooooh this is gonna be sweet...GNS in Ark
Sweet!
Love that game so very much.
I became the Birdman of Arbedeen with my swarm of Dimorphodon.
Couple tips- When a stack of meat is about expire right click and unstack all to make a lot of spoiled meat quickly
Press "T" to quick transfer stuff Ex. from inventory to campfire so you dont have to drag stuff around
and u can tame baby creatures of you kill the "parent" dino that is close to it.
The carno saga was so good. No need to calm down. You are the master of that beech, act like it! haha
Stim berries can be used as stimulates, or turned into one, and the other berries are mostly just there for dyes and some recipes. I would recommend getting an iguanadon asap, because for an early game mount, they are beastly. Infinite stamina in 4 legged mode, decent weight, pretty fast, can jump, and you can use tools on its back, plus it can seed berries if you wanted to start a farm. However, for a first berry gatherer, moschops or parasaur is pretty decent, moschops being able to harvest fiber and berries, and might be able to fit in your base, idk if there is double doors in yet.
I vote moschops best first tame, wood, thatch, hide and meat also.
Yes there is double doors, Glock 9 is also doing ark and he put them in his place
parasaur are my go-to 1st mount. easy tame and they can harvest berries and fiber like a machine.
2nd is a pteranodon
Bolo both and wack 'em with a club until you can pile goodies in their inventory.
looking forward to more.
A group of raptors is called a Kettle .
If you lie down on the floor and look at the ground, you can dig for water. Only works in grassy areas
I always keep a few berries or fiber in my zero slot as the pegos will steal from there first. As well as those annoying itchy birds.
If you attack one type of normally non aggressive animal, many times they'll have pals around who will also come attack you, so watch out what you attack.
One turtle is fine, 3 turtles may kill you, lol. Also trikes are very aggressive if you attack one of them. They also charge.
Hey Temreki, if you're looking for a mount that has good carry capacity and speed both, you've got two major options both of which are pretty much unable to fight, so don't take them into hostile area without other tames or good weapons to protect them. Parasaurs are a great starter mount, with quite good speed and good carrying capacity, and the diplodocus (a relative of the bronto) is fantastic in both speed and carry capacity. Diplos are considered a sort of 'bus' as they have an 11 person saddle when you have a group with you. Sabretooths are another fast creature, but like raptors doesn't have good carry capacity.
Rip spanky, you threw poo like the best of em.
really good video make more on this game man
Bola is ur best friend. As soon as you see a raptor- bola. Spyglass is essential also as it allows you to see dinos levels from afar
The camera man shots got you a sub. Cool new twist on watching ark gameplay. Money well spent.
NGL, I'm tempted to create a small list of pro tips to help you overcome some of those early-game obstacles, but I admittedly enjoy watching you fight through it ha ha! Nothing screams "ARK!" like taming, naming, and losing a dino all in the same 20 minutes.
you can place the torch on your belt, it look wierd but it give you hands space to use the pickaxe and axe at night
Glock9 mentioned that turning off footsteps stopped the flicker your getting
Definitely a Murder of Raptors 🤣
First time watching, " As much use as an ashtray on a motorbike."
Finally a streamer with a not super annoying voice. I play rust looking forward to the Xbox launch
I always pump up movement speed stamina and weight first, followed by health and fortitude.
In old ark, 120% movement speed was enough to outrun most things
They removed movespeed
Unless it has changed from the previous version of ARK, keep your food from being completely topped off because you only heal from eating as you gain food bar.
White berries make animals poop, and this is a great fertilizer for a garden!
If you keep blue berrys in your last slot, the stealing Dino’s will steel that and tame themselves.then you can keep them or take them out.
