Most people play Ark Survival Ascended on boosted rates servers. Some people have even taken on the incredible challenge and survived 100 days on hardcore. But has anyone ever beaten Scorched Earth on 0x harvesting rates? Is it even possible? Scorched Earth just released on Ark Survival Ascended, and I decided to bring back the 0x rates series after taking on this challenge on the Island on Ark Survival Evolved.
In this video, I have my harvesting/gathering rate set to 0x, so I can’t grind ANY resources at all. Any time I try to mine a tree, rock, hide, or gather fiber, berries, or anything else, I get absolutely nothing. I have 100 days to beat Ark’s first DLC, Scorched Earth, without ever lifting a pickaxe. The clock is ticking, and every minute counts. Will I be able to defeat the Manticore, or will I crumble under the pressure of surviving in a world with almost zero crafting potential?

I mean they gotta be somewhat fun at times. Not for the most part though, editing is gotta be theworst part tbh considering how much footage there is. 100h being cut to bit below 1.5 and still showing relevant bits.

I can usually shut off my brain and grind out things like this, and if you can find the balance between taking it seriously and laughing at the absurdity it can be fun, even when you die 150 times in 15 days

For the starving dinos, I usually dismount, put them on follow and whistle 'attack this target', they'll harvest the meat by themsleves. Might also work on corpse (at least for the dreaded hesperornis it does)

8:40 you can level up movement speed you just gotta turn it on in the settings
1:14:00 they removed the ability to re-roll imprints with cryopods, because they gave a worse version of that ability to the gigantoraptor
Edit: also wyvern milk gives like 5K food per item to baby wyverns. I know KOing a female would have been insane, but it probably would have been worth it.
According to the wiki, the essence used to tame an Oasisaur is consumed in the process, so Roadrunner would have gotten sort of eaten anyway. RIP leggy boi.

I do have minor good news for you, if nobody else has told you yet! With the upcoming patch, Wildcard is "reducing the enthusiasm of Scorched Earth's weather events" so you shouldn't get so many. But we all know how reliable patches are lol

At 47:30 he just said he made a generator to power some air conditioners... which means he didn't have a cryo fridge for his cryo pods, meaning he had a mod or setting changed from the default game to use cryopods anywhere... Basically means this run is not legit with 0x harvest as the only change, ignoring the boosted rates for taming already.
Watched till this point because I was giving benefit of the doubt that maybe he used a wind turbine for his cryo fridge so he could actually use his cryopods, but this would probably explain why very few watch the whole video.
There’s a check box to disable cryofridge requirements on the settings, I put that on in the video with Granty and haven’t changed it. I don’t think it really makes anything possible that wasn’t before, just speeds up me moving things around the map but yeah that’s still fair criticism. Sorry for not saying anything I just didn’t think about it

That’s a good idea, if the healing still works without harvesting it could definitely outheal the hunger, but it would be a lot of upkeep for sure

personal tip, never stay close to your tames when taming, leave the area after you surround it with something or leave so far the area is not loaded anymore, this way nothing will come in and ruin it

Honestly I'm back to mostly playing ASE untill abberation is out. Can't wait for 0x ab. hopefully they dont overload the map with foliage. I'm convinced the overuse the plant brush is the cause of 50-80% of all performance and crash issues.
all things considered though I'm baffled how common things like harpoon guns and basilo saddles are... in a fucking desert. and I vouch for flame arrows even in pve. flame arrows plus compound bow doesn't beat a pump shotty, but it comes pretty damn close.ntm the ammo is cheaper.
another thing: can we expect you to go back to the island on ascended and do it again? just to see how different it is and if its any easier or harder. It would be interesting to see the comparison. hopefully 5.4 fixes the damn crashing.
I don’t think I’ll be trying ASA the island on 0x because ASA makes it significantly easier due to the supply drop loot table

I haven’t watched the boss fight yet, but here’s my prediction: your creatures all KO and then you die. Your choice was a natural one given the circumstances, but their standard torpor levels will be their downfall. Manticore does far more torpor than damage. This is why I think Rexes are the go-to creature, for people who can consistently get meat at least.
Edit: holy cow, that was brutal. Not gonna spoil it but you really brought the final result as close as it can be. I have no idea how 0x would work on aberration though, since… well, you know. Way fewer drops.
