- Nine-year-old fiddle player Carson Peters of Piney Flats, Tenn., hopes to be a professional musician someday. His next immediate goal, however, is to win his fourth consecutive East Tennessee Young Bluegrass Musicians contest in Rogersville on Feb. 23, 2013.
i don't know which i admire more, you're fiddle playing or your mature, modest humility !
You will definitely be a pro. I am very inspired by you...and you made me smile!
MR Peters was asked the difference between a violin and a fiddle. His responce,a violin has strings,a fiddle has straagns.CLASSIC!!
He is a gifted Child.. God Bless you and your family

Oh my GOSH! You are so adorable and an AMAZING player! I'm learning to play fiddle on my viola, and I have a LONG way to go to catch up to you!
my moms friend has know him since he was 3
Keep playing great, stay modest, and don't let things like what the interviewer said at the end affect you at all. You're way ahead of that kind of thinking.
oh my heck, this kid is amazing, he needs to come to the great Canadian Barn Dance in Hill Spring Alberta Canada I the summer he'd be very welcome to come to the bluegrass festivals and the acoustic camp!!
I love your fiddle playing and your one precious little fellow !! Glad I got to see you on you tube ! Keep posting more songs as you learn them !!
I watch this kid over and over, he is a star! I just read that his first cd was released in March 2014, so I better get out there and buy it, I'm sure the music stores have a well supplied with everything he has ever put out, wow, I am so happy!
What a sweet talented young man! I only hope to be able to play half as good as you someday!
Carson is already there, I can't wait to see where his talents take him next. ☺
What a great video. I will be praying for the best for Carson. And there will be many doors open up for you! You have a great talent, and your band does great backing you up.
Carson Peters will go far in life!
Get'er Done Carson. Nice job. You remind me of 2 men. Mark O'Conner who told the story of him going to a fiddler's "Camp" and sat in a room and played till he got it right. he always said it was the best thing for him even though it wasn't much fun at the time. And Ricky Skaggs who started playing about your age and never looked back. I think you'll be on the of the best and in line for your share of the gold. Keep it up Carson. Love to see what you do when you're 20.
Thank you for sharing. this is truly special.
Carson, you rock! Or whatever you country boys do, you do it very well :)
Im going to like country music because of you Carson. So talented and cute!
Fantastic boy! Look out to hear more from you, you are gonna make it for sure!! You got the talent & the Southern charm :)!

Carson I love to hear you play. God bless you all.
What a wonderful story. I see you are on the Grand Ole opry now. Congratulations!!! Go for it.
Oh my Lord he's a prodigy....and I love his playing.....
No such thing as a prodigy...he started at 3 1/2. He put in hours of practice, and sweat. He deserves to be acknowledged for all his hard work to get to where he is. :)
@@kujon1968 ..your right my friend...thanks for the correction. 🎻 An amazing talent.
What a fine, fine little feller. Just as humble and well mannered. And, although it looked as if the interviewer was doing his best to get him to say something against his humility, this little Christian boy honored His Lord instead. And such talent His Lord has given him. I was just as impressed with his humility and grace as with his talent. Little Carson is very blessed, and very much a blessing.
His parents must be so proud (in a humble, thankful sort of way) of their son.
As a bluegrass musician and a teacher, clips like this make me want to puke and be so proud at the same time! lol. These kids are getting younger and younger and more and more talented. That's awesome. It's annoying that I've been playing for 29 years and some of these kids have more talent at 9 then I do now. Great job!!!
This is beautiful that the Lord Jesus Christ has blessed this young boy with such talent he is blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ
You are a great fiddle player little man, I don't know if you can get much better. Thumbs up for you.
He should play the super simple version of old McDonald, then bust out some crazy fiddle solo. That's what I was expecting to happen!
what a blessing !
hope you realize your dreams ,they are closer than you think , OUTSTANDING, good luck
and if your dreams don't come true, take solice that your nightmares do not either, LOL
This is one modest, talented kid!!
Great stuff there! Good luck and happy fiddling!
I've checked out a couple of your videos. Kid .... you have talent.
Wonderful style and talent.
He is amazing
carson your going to be a big star.and your a good kid.love from England
Amazing!!
Wonderful!
brings back memories of living hill and my pappy teaching me the fiddle
What a amazing Carson
OUUHHH RAH,Carson !! You rock my world !!!
In his genes ! I know what that is like. The music comes from the brain and down the arms and into the fingers and that is it. It happened to me with the Mandolin but at age nearing sixty. This boy was blessed in finding out so young. Marie Mandolin
This kid is AWESOME... I hope he goes far with his gift..
Why would you want him to go fat? That could be dangerous
Grady Meares Thanks for correcting me I hit the letter "t" instead of the letter "r" thanks again
bamaboy557 lol your welcome
AMAZING
Excellent talent. I've been trying to learn to play longer than he is old.
So proud of you cousin!! See you at Easter!
Lindsey stirlinf and this kid have completely different styles of playing, so it shouldn't matter what she thinks
You go little dude!
AWESOME
Go for it!
A real fine fiddler Stan Howe asked me, What is the difference between a professional musician and a pepperoni pizza.Answer, A pizza can feed a family of four. It is hard to make a living in the music business. He does a lot of other things to get by but music is his life. No matter what you end up as KEEP ON FIDDLING. It will bring joy to you as well as others!
Jim
he is already a pro a 10......carry on Carson
Always play with him.Im 13 and love to play my fiddle but I hate to play alone and nobody Will play with me
He already is a pro.

Awesome fiddling
God bless u....Go BIG U can do it! Dream big w/God all things r possible!
I've longed to learn how to play like this
mind blowing........you are already a pro
God your amazing...I'm horrible I'm 55 and just learning...will you teach me? Come to Hawaii ok! or how about an online lesson?
Dang
Fiddling is hard but the two main components is double stopping and lots of sliding
Whats the song at the start??? I like it.
I think it is a tune rather than a song. I've heard it before and don't think it has words. Don't know the name though.
That tune at the beginning is called " Benton's Dream " written by Old Time Fiddle player Benton Flippen.
is it the family that plays together stays together, music and family,,great ??
how does this only hav 4,000 views?
Very Good! Check out some Johnny Gimble. Keep it up!
I play da guitar he awesome
Kids who play fiddle now have proper technique. They keep the fiddle up while older players hold it below
I'm one of those older players - it's a definite style. It is used for marathon sessions, such as during a square dance.
He'd be able to get an easy radio job.
y do people say that the fiddle is a southern instrument, it originated from skotland
My sister said " he's cute"
Have no fear put God first
damn that's good Ive played for 9 yrs , try subcribing and enjoy
Cecilia Chen
Talented boy.
VERY talented.
Holy shut letters
Good job. Slow that Ragtime Annie down. Keep the original tune and beat. Fast doesn't mean good. Listen to the greats like Byron Berline, Baker, lots of others. They don't have to cheat with speed. Style and technique. You are nearly there already so you have a huge jump on everyone else. Michael Cleveland is one of the few who can really go fast and keep the original tune .
Soooo.... did you go pro
Oh yeah! Touring non-stop! Their shows are always sold out! He is unbelievable. Look him up now on Carson peters & iron mountain. Carson is now 15 year old and has been on the grand ole opry several times and tons of other big national televised shows! A true legend right before your eyes..
OK, first of all WOW. I play the violin and that is amazing! But second, he should have his wrist out, not in. You hold the violin up with your chin and your hand, not your wrist. Sorry >_< I get nagged about that a lot myself. But that doesn't mean that this isn't amazing. Just... wow.
I suppose they do. Thank you for informing me of this.
His technique doesn't matter. He is amazing despite not holding a classical position. If it works for him, he should continue.
fiddleshe. I agree....... that good..... stick with what works
It's not a violin. It's a fiddle.
they're the same thing.
Dad, has the need to keep up with your son's level of play made you better?
Fantastic! Are you waiting until you get your Social Security card?
AWESOME
