    I like the way Jyoti Malhotra interrupts and tries to clarify things then and there, otherwise in the flow of the discussion, the guest would take everybody in 10 different directions without explaining the specific details, so the anchor/interviewer has to be alert and ensure that clarity on the specific points come out before moving to the next topic, and she is fantastic in extracting this information. So many people who have commented against her style of interviewing here, either don't understand journalism or sound idiots.

    Several giveaways of anti nda bias in questions. For example, describing diplomatic improvement from 2005 instead of 2003, even as expert mentioned otherwise. Also, real issue not broached at all that china could be just buying time for growth rates to leave others far behind before china resumes imperialism. This means Rahul Gandhi signing secret deals with CCP is most unwise. Leaving defense preparedness in limbo on top of that. Not discussing these lapses is not only biased but also damages security interests of billions living in China's shadow

    1)Absolute clarity of goals should be stated, although strategic silence on operational details is OK.
    2)Rhetoric from Chinese side is nowhere near Doklam, even on social media.
    3)Don't take Global Times too seriously. It's just an equivalent of Republic TV.
    4)Indo-China ties have been reset completely, with this episode, so, a good opportunity to reset economic relations. China's trade surplus with India accounts for 19% of total surplus. Investment and Industry rely heavily on China. Time to reset. It'll cause Pain, but, there wouldn't be a better time.
    5)Govt. should respond diplomatically, politically, strategically.
    6)Deterence on the border has been lost. Must be restored. Earlier, balance of strength on the border kept the peace. Now, the balance has been broken.
    7)Whatever PLA does is at the command of CPC. 15 June episode at the behest of the party.
    8)Indian and Chinese interests have begun to become incompatible in their periphery.
    9)China shows more aggression outside when it faces challenges from within. Its isolated in the world. Covid and economic challenges worry it. It spends more on internal security than national defence. Current aggression may be part of a broader Wolf Warrior Diplomacy.
    10)India responded to the rise of China in many ways, in terms of Border infra., better relns. with Indo-Pacific countries, US.
    11)India's National Interest is supreme, don't worry about NA. Strategic autonomy- ability to chose what's in your interest. Nobody would've 100% interest alignment with anyone else.
    12)Economic integration of S.Asia is very imp. Rather than becoming a threat to neighbouring countries, become a security provider. Release Foreign policy from domestic politics. National interest is above party interest.
    13)Idea behind 2003 agreement was to decide principles, reduce them to a framework, and then reduce it to a line on the map.

Also in NDA, we have a concept called daily changing fuel price but i didn't see the price decrease during the lockdown when the global crude plunged to 20$. Now we are seeing a daily increase in the last 15 days and the global crude is at 40$. Do you think this is fair?

    28:43 The most pointed question and the crux of the whole discussion. Ultimately its the top political will that matters in settling the border disputes and not the countless agreements and talks that happens. Ultimately one political decision can reduce all these paperwork to trash. This is the. game China has mastered. The world has realised that more so the government under PM Modi. Now there is no going back on resetting the relationships. For me this is a big opportunity in crisis.

China has had many collapses and failures, Kublai, Opium wars, Japan and to name a few. No country or civilization is without failure. Much as India is ancient, brilliant and awe inspiring has also had its civilizational failures in history. The United States has had an uncanny ability to re invent, rebuild and re energize time and again, has a proven track record of coming back from doom and gloom projections. Democratic processes are different amd are not as obvious in its methods, modes and construct. Never discount American capacity, mild slumber from time to time but when awake non compare.

    The geopolitical and major security risks of India actually eventuated from its poor foreign policies, which antagonise the people of its neighbouring countries including Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and others.
    For example, just think about the sentiment of the people of Bangladesh, the so called friendly country. What India did to its people? Border killings, blocking natural river flow at upsteam, supporting a government which is holding on to power through massively rigged elections by Indian naked support, and so on. If you recall in 2013/14 how the then foreign secretary Sujata Singh made a visit to Dhaka to influence the country's general election. Since then the flourishing democracy in Bangladesh has been sent in exile. This practice is still continuing and border killing has not stopped. To cut the long story short, if today there is a war between India and China, I think more than 80% of the people of Bangladesh will take China's side. I think similar situation will prevail in all other neighbouring countries of India.

    De-escalation and peace at borders, all how would it come when the very basic is wrong. This is the time for india to bring in stability to the borders. Those blocking of indian money absorbing apps and taking a dig as expansionist was good move. And along with this mement, better india should go for further diplomatic/military moves so that to 1. make to accept china the 1950s laid control line and stop with hide-seek play at tough borders 2. It was 1950 that china laid a highway as much as parallel to the 4000kms eastern borders of india and further build finger link roads to indian borders. But india is yet to develop its border area, setup border posts/patrol posts all along the eastern borders that make an easy bite for chinese land grabs. India should move forward from its 70 years long immovable position and setup border posts/patrol posts for whole of the 4000kms eastern border line to stop land grabs. Even by 2019 chinese have grabbed stretches of arunachal pradesh, indian guarded doklam of butan and also in ladakh. Would the regime show its sensibility in working and not in PROs?? Citizens should think of this and push the establishment for this crucial necessity of the nation.

    even today we should talk to China and finalise the area, include Aksai Chin in India. No soft discussions, enough of communist backstabbers.

They are a mirror image of Late General Tojo's regime during the second world war. Just look at the way they covered up the lost of their soldiers. No media and no public outcries. And what happened to our government during the Kandahar hijack. How the ministers were gheraoed at their residence and office. And then the released prisoners went on to 911 and became more notorious.

But india shares land with china not like US which shares US $ currency and trade. India should raise alone without china but with everybody else thats the only way to counter this chinese checkers game.

    • @MK-hl7dg
      @MK-hl7dg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They have been doing this from 2018, article 370 has nothing to do with it.
      If article 370 is the reason, why are they increasing rhetoric in South China Sea or Bhutan recently.

    • @changamanga100
      @changamanga100 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MK-hl7dg I think it has a lot to do with 370 and the subsequent events. HM Amit Shah standing on the floor of house said India will take back, Aksai Chin, GB & Azad Kashmir. Tall claims against Pakistan & Nepal are ok, but not against China, there are consequences.

    • @MK-hl7dg
      @MK-hl7dg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well there is nothing to argue about if you have made up your mind.
      But China does not care about article 370 nor Pakistan, it’s irrelevant to them, similar to POK has a prime minister who installed by Pakistan which we don’t recognise and irrelevant, since we consider it disputed. Nothing is going to change that.
      We had a stand off in doklam which happened in 2017, so what is the provocation by india for that. Searching for a reason on why China did it and justifying their actions because we did something provocative is setting a narrative on China’s behalf.

    • @changamanga100
      @changamanga100 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MK-hl7dg Minds can & do change. China is more assertive, to that probably we can agree !
      CPEC is important to China, that is being opposed by India. India signed Wuhan Spirit (of Peace & Neutrality) with China and at the same time India goes around making Quad Alliance with US to contain China in South China Sea. India has to decide where it stands, with or against China. Ladakh episode will propel India towards that.
