Rose it's called oxidation. The air turns the fruit dark after you remove the peel. Put a little lemon juice on the pear after you peel and cut it. Then give it a mix. The acid in the lemon juice stops it from turning brown. Hope that helps😁.

Hi Rose! I was so happy to see that this was filmed in 2021, and that Anzai is healthy now. The pear jelly looked so refreshing. Perhaps you can shred the pear directly into water, to keep the pear from changing colors. I do that with fresh apples and potatoes…….works every time. 🥰

Rosie hello from the Caribbean ( Guyana ) next time something that can help with the cold is clove ( you chew about 10-15 and the cold last one to two days. However it taste aweful so Anzai would not like it. You can however make strong clove tea and drink with no milk instead, it help with all types of pain ( arthritis, chronic pain etc) If use everyday regardless of a person age it get rid of their pain. It get rid of inflammation and its inflammation that cause pain.That's why its able to get rid of pain. Its get rid of cold regardless of how severe the cold because it kills viruses and bacteria. This l have tried and found out to be true for myself. Hope you see this and try it for yourself and husband then tell it to friends and family. It will help you guys so much living in a cold climate and it will help your elderly neighbours too drink strong clove tea daily no pain and gets rid of cold( virus ) and also bacteria. Check the info about clove further on TH-cam. Some told me about in 2021 in America when l was visiting and l'm forever thankful to her. God bless you and your family, Rosie.

@@alasieapeters5182 hola mucho gusto le quiero dar un remedio muy bueno para la tos de los niños ponga 2 cucharadas soperas de aceite de oliva coja tomillo y póngalo con el aceite lleve al fuego bajo y dejé por 3 minutos apague y déjelo reposar hasta que esté tibiecito ojo que como es aceite se calienta mucho ,luego cuelelo y haga una fricción en la espalda ,senos nasales,garganta,frente,plantas de los pies abriguelo puede darle una bebida calientita de orégano,o tomillo o aguadepanelacon limón y santo remedio

Rose next time you make pear apple or peach jelly add a little lemon juice. It will keep the color after cooking. You can even add it before you squeeze it out. Plus lemon juice is good for cold. Also hibiscus tea is very good colds.

Fruits like pears and apples oxidize when expose to air and turn black . Next time squeeze some lime or lemon juice and it will remain the original color . Too much lemon or lime juice and the jelly may not form too so do t add too much .
