Absolutely vlog about silicon valley and I'm not at all jealous :D Congrats on the new job though - very much looking forward to hearing about your various journeys. Reckon we should do another livestream before you go?
I'd just like to say thank you for this channel- if it had not been for your videos, I don't think I would've had the confidence to apply to Oxford (the whole 'I'm working class, I don't stand a chance' crap was clouding my judgement) I now have an offer- and the Odd Education resource is helping me to work towards my offer- so thanks :) And the San Fran vlog series sounds like a nice idea
So I see JamoeMills on my tube this morning thinking to myself "thats the guy from youtube" after a while I randomly sit down next to him, not wanting to disturb him from his kindle, then as he is about to get off the train (opposite my primary school) I'm like..."do you happen to be a youtuber?" and then i say "I watch your videos whilst procrastinating" And that kids, is why you should never break the unwritten rules of London transport because it make you look weird...
Jamie, you're videos are great and I appreciate your palpable want to help others. i would absolutely be interested in seeing that 10 day vlog to Northern California. I didnt know you were so interested in tech companies.
Jamie's excellent adventures (the Silicon Valley edition) definitely sounds interesting! P.S. I challenge you to get as many people as you can on your travels to start wearing odd socks.
Firstly I want to say that I appreciate that you upload these videos, the Oxford ones gives us a sneak peak into the life of an Oxford student. As it happens to be I'm fairly sure that I will apply to PPE, Oxford (I have not decided which College but I'm leaning towards Balliol). I'm from Sweden and I'm actually graduating this spring and taking a gap year and I have some ideas of what I want to do during that year but do you have any tips on things I can do in which to increase my chance of being accepted to a course like PPE? I'm currently looking for different traineeships but a certain part of me just wants to fly away to Italy where my family has a house and just read constantly for a few months. How would that look like on an application from the tutors point of view? Thank you!
With the new a level reform in the UK, eg some subjects won't have an AS exam, does this mean universities will be placing more emphasis on gcse results as well as predicted grades?
Excellent video, Jamie, it's lovely to see your face back on my computer screen, as odd of a sentence as that may seem! Anyway, this may not be entirely relevant to this video, but I am aware that you have made a few videos in the past about UNIQ, and so thought that you might be able to help. I have applied for UNIQ 2015 to do Biochemistry (2nd choice is Chemistry), and that week is the 1-7th August, which is perfectly fine, and I find out if I am accepted into the residential, or not, on the 30th March - so a little while yet! Anyway, as previously expressed by you and UNIQ, the applicants have to be available for the whole of the UNIQ experience, which starts on the 4th July. Well, yesterday, me and 8 others in our school won (well, top 3 out of 13 schools) the regional (North West) EYP (European Youth Parliament) debate, and so we are off to the Nationals in July! This is where the issue arises. The Nationals span over a few days, as we stay in Uni accommodation as well with people from all over the country, which is the 2-5th July, and so I just need to know WHY we have to be available for UNIQ right away, even if my chose week is a month away. Hopefully it won't be an issue! And I intend to go to Oxford's open day on the 1st July (clearly I cannot stay for the 2nd July as that is when the Nationals start), and so I have LOTS of travelling over those few days, let's hope it all works out! Thank you :)
Dan Margetts Well it is nice to the see the Potato is still around too :D To make sure I understand correctly, you want to know if you can speed up the process of finding out the outcome of your UNIQ application?
That is a brilliant idea! Just sent a message round to some friends to see if anyone knows anyone at the company. Also, you can see I took up your other great idea of the job hunting series :)
The vlog series sounds like a great idea - can't wait to see! :)

Jessica Paige You have no idea how happy I was when I discovered that commonly unacknowledged fact :P
Keep up the great work Jamie
Cheers buddy, I hope all is well. Send my love to the family :)
With the new a level reform in the UK, eg some subjects won't have an AS exam, does this mean universities will be placing more emphasis on gcse results as well as predicted grades?
Or potentially mock exam results and any aptitude test. But yes, the emphasis will have to be placed elsewhere.

The Potato will never vanish! And actually not specifically, just why we need to be available for the entire duration of the Summer School :)
do a vlog of your trip!!!!
yes go!
kinkakuji, skytree on your wall! I used to live near skytree!
You are extremely observant :) Yep, I made the trip to those sites when I lived in Tokyo in 2012.
When in the Valley, try to visit IDEO.
That is a brilliant idea! Just sent a message round to some friends to see if anyone knows anyone at the company. Also, you can see I took up your other great idea of the job hunting series :)

Thanks :) Working on piecing it all together now.
