- The cast of ‘On My Block’ -- Julio Macias, Brett Gray, Jason Genao, Sierra Capri, Diego Tinoco and Jessica Marie Garcia -- opens up to ET’s Deidre Behar about the fourth and final season of the beloved Netflix series. The actors share their perspectives on how their characters’ storylines wrapped up, including Capri and Tinoco, who reveal if they think Monse and Cesar end up together. Genao and Garcia discuss Ruby and Jazmin’s future as a couple, despite their paths going in different directions. Then, Macias sheds light on Oscar and his shocking ending. The cast also details the ‘bittersweet’ final day on set and explains why it was full of laughs instead of tears. They also share the items they took from the set or wardrobe department. As for the upcoming ‘On My Block’ spinoff series, ‘Freeridge,’ the stars respond to whether they’ll make appearances and even weigh in on the possibility of doing a movie with the original cast. ‘On My Block’s fourth and final season is now streaming on Netflix.

The sad thing is that I knew Oscar was gonna get shot when Cesar agreed to go to Portland. It just seemed too good to be true and then he went outside by himself and at that point I was teary eyed and than I heard the car pull up and i knew what was set to happen and once I heard the gunshots and than Cesar holding Oscar I was so angry but I understood why it had to happen
Yeah it was too good to be true and right when Oscar stepped foot outside I knew what was coming and when he died I shed some tears ngl. Great season though hope there’s another one but highly doubt it but if they do I hope they show all the story of Oscar leading up to his death for an example they can show how he joined, what made him the leader, his enemies, etc

People may disagree but I like how they didn't reveal Oscar's killers. In the show, the whole thing Oscar wanted was for Cesar to move on and do better for himself so even though he died due to his past life catching up to him, Cesar still didn't find out who the killers were and decide to continue down that gang life looking for them.

@@Heyyitsalli lol you’re not the only one. When it first happened I wanted to know so bad but after the scene with the dad talking to Cesar and all that it started to make sense to me that it made more sense for Cesar’s progression to not know who the killer was

I agree that I feel a lot of the a story line felt rushed. After Oscar died, I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it makes sense that we didn’t see any gang war because Cesar ended up leaving that life. So whatever war was happening, it no longer affected him.
I would have loved a 5th season. I do want to know what happens to all them and I would love to see Oscars killer pay for his crime
It was in a contract for this to be the last season. That’s why it felt rushed.

3:20 Julio said this so real. Being in that lifestyle is real and not a "trend"... people are having to pass away for just wearing a color and not being in a gang at all. Its so sad to see this type of stuff on the news... especially about the younger generation.

I don't think we were meant to know. I'm sure Oscar didn't want Cesar to know because he would take revenge and fall deeper into the gang life. And Oscar wanted better for Cesar. That's all he ever wanted.
I think that defeats the purpose. Oscar was trying to have a better like and wanted his brother out of the life. If you watch carefully you can see him shaking his head when Cesar asked him. It was over. He knew he would try and get revenge. Didn’t want that for his brother.
They literally left us hanging in everything. Except Abuelita's death😭 I want a movie or at least one last episode to close it off properly
I knew something bad was gonna happen the minute Cesar agreed to leave with Oscar. He seemed so optimistic and happy and I was just like “this isn’t gonna last” and almost immediately, he heard them coming and turned around. To be honest I really thought Cesar would be the one they got, not Oscar though.

@@mikaylalemons2181 We get that, but there was a lot of things that could on made him change. Say he was just in bad condition and not dead. It would have the same effect since he wouldn't know if he would die or not and he'd still wish to kill him. and it could of been the same from there.

Sameeeee! There was no story line at this season. Its started with oscar death and then what? The streets got so calm with no gangs when it was supposed to be crazy with the santos taking revenge on Oscar death (or maybe one of them killed him? We'll never know 🤦♀️)
It was such a messy season. Even with Vero and the tampon that she was so desperate to get but never used.
Oh well. At least I laughed a lot (and cried a lot). Bettet than nothing

@@NetaBatata especially with the Vero storyline. There was really no development for her. I kinda liked her so when Monse gave her the tampon and she looked a lil sad or whatever I was hoping from there they’d have Vero soften up but when we saw her dancing with Cesar while Monse was alone, it didn’t really look like she changed in the slightest.

my heart shattered when i found out that season 4 was the last season because this cast is sooo close and they grew up together and have such a great bond and i was really hoping that they would do 6 seasons or more but when oscar died it literally shattered my heart even more, i REALLYYY hope that they can make an on my block 2 soon and we can get to find out who killed oscar and where the rollerworld money is and what that map leads up too, and that latrelle gets outta juvie. that would make me so happy because i love everyone on that show, i love every cast member and they dont have just a good bond on that show but they have it in real life too! so PLEASEEE make an on my block 2 and add more then 4 seasons, idc how much time it takes i just need it!

Its implied though. Their dad even said it was probably somebody in the past who had beef with him or an act against Cesar. It was the gang life that killed him. Karma

personally, yeah when oscar died i was upset, but its honestly good for development of moving on. this whole series was basically everyone clinging onto the past for so long, and just cesar choosing to move on was a huge relief. and now he's doing so much better (idk about his choice of relationships but he's cesar)
I was cool with this season, finding Lil Ricky, mending back 4 friendships, and seeing death as a celebration more than a sad occasion for Abuelita. I think it’s best not to show Oscar’s killer because as many said in comments below, it would’ve led Cesar down a darker path hence why he got jumped out the gang and took an extra beating to get Cesar out as well. That’s just my opinion on it and as for the last scene with the map, it will lead to another adventure but the main point of that is to see the 4 main characters come back together and end at a party as the story began at a party.
They need to keep making this show and bring back all the one who died something crazy

I was gonna binge watch it with my friends since it was released on my birthday and we loved it the show so much, and duuuude. talk about screaming crying and throwing up. we were so heartbroken. i honestly had such a bad feeling Oscar was gonna die. The moment everything started to get good i instantly got a pit in my stomach cause it was so obvious spooky was gonna get killed. It was the fact he went outside that confirmed it and i instantly teared up. I get how that was good for Cesar in a way, but it was so heartbreaking when Oscar died, and Abuelita. and the fact we never got to see who did it (and again, i get the reasoning. but just us knowing wouldn't hurt) was so upsetting cause there was so much unanswered questions. it was just a of huge cliffhanger, dude. they were my babies PLS
