Being a person dealing with vestibular migranes since the past few years now, i can easily say that this has been the best doctor speech i have ever listened to. All the things he said just relate to my problems and i am even more assured that i have the right diagnosis. God bless you doctor ❤️🙏

I've had migraine symptoms in the ear...had no idea it was migraine, b/c I'd had migraines for a 9 year period, the painful headache, and then it went away..what followed were actually migraine symptoms but were attributed to other ailments..in 2020 the ear symptoms came into play...took 3 years to find out I have vestibular migraine and have likely had it since childhood based on my history. AND Dr. Teixido played a major role in ME finally getting the right diagnosis. If it were not for him and me using the knowledge I gained from him and advocating for myself, it's likely I'd have never gotten the right diagnosis. He's my hero.

Even if I continue to live with chronic migraine, it is comforting knowing that a lot of my symptoms are legitimate and I am not just imagining them. It also helps me to better advocate for myself during doctors appointments.

I had a migraine with visual aura nearly three weeks ago, the aura didn't fully resolve, leaving my vision not fully restored. I could only see half of a face, the other half of the face looking like the eye ball was deep vivid colour and large, slowly over the weeks it's almost dissapeared, leaving a tiny fragment of the aura. If I covered up one eye at a time, it still looks the same, so it's not an eye problem it's definitely in my head. I recognise a ton of those symptoms, ear, trigeminal pain, along with most of the usual classic symptoms, also I have suffrered meniers attacks. I have learned a lot from this video, thank you. I hope this tiny aura fragment eventually dissapeares.

I’ve seen over 15,000 head pain patients. Vestibular symptoms are not uncommon. Otalgia is rarely a major symptom of migraine - multiple attacks of pulsatile one sided head pain that is severe enough to inhibit normal functioning and aggravated by activity, associated with nausea and light/sound sensitivity.

Amazing Doctor. I started with tinnitus, then visual changes, thumpping in the left ear and only now, when the auras started I finally got the diagnose of migraines since I never felt any pain. Unfortunately I live abroad and can't get an appointment. Nonetheless this interview shed really a lot of light on my problem.

Wow glad to hear about this. I had my migraines start after my daughter was born and for six months I took birth control pills, which I think started the migraines. I am 77, and my migraines stopped for several years but now they are back. I get what I call zingers, sharp pains in my temples usually on one side. Now I have been getting very dizzy, where I feel like I will pass out. II didn't have that in previous years. cannot eat chocolate, some sharp cheeses, & some wines. The migraines I have now are not as bad as I had years ago, they really debilitated me for days.

I also started having migraines after childbirth. I wish there was more research into what the impact is/ hormonal, fatigue, etc that could be treated.

I lost hearing in one ear out of the blue. Some hearing came back but I still have some of the symptoms described here. Of course when I asked if the loss was related to migraines and I was told no. But I’m pretty sure it’s all related. I also have trigeminal pain on the same side and chronic migraines

I have vestibular migraine. If I don’t take magnesium and b2 I’m down for the count. I have found that when I take propranolol my symptoms are a little less strong, I told my doctor if he can start proscribing it he said no he doesn’t treat migraines with blood pressure 💊. I got the propranolol from my doctors years ago for anxiety. But my ENT refuses to prescribe it to me

I get this ear symptoms with no head pain. 3 out of 7 days I get headaches that come and go thru out the day but no require NSAIDS. Only a few times a month do I get a level 10 migraine. I get spontaneous vertigo 5 days a week, that lasts a couple seconds. I feel like I may have silent migraines bc of my vertigo symptoms. I was diagnosed with vestibular migraines. My mri show some white matter legions. I read migraines can damage the brain.

Hello, this was most informative. I have had hearing loss all of my life due to genetics it runs in my family along with vestibular migraines and vertigo and mènières disease. I have been going to a chiropractor for my vestibular migraines who works with concussion patients, and he diagnosed me with mènières disease because of my hearing loss could and diagnosed with labyrinthist as well. I have a new family doctor. Would it be okay to ask him about this and have him run more tests just to make sure that is what I have?

I have hyperacusis and have been dealing with this for 15 years. The symptoms you describe about pain in the ear and going down through the teeth and side/back of neck are exactly what I experience when I have a loud noise event. I’ve been researching hyperacusis for many years and the only thing that’s been suggested is sound therapy. I’m wondering if there is a correlation with my ear pain, which you describe as an ear migraine, and my symptoms. I also appreciate your advice on foods that could trigger migraines. It couldn’t hurt for me to try a nutrition approach to my hyperacusis. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

This was so informative. Thank you. I have had migraines for over 20 years, but only recently started having intense pain in my ears. It was scary because I wasn't sure what was the cause. Was it migraines, an ear infection, damage to my eardrum? The two DRs I went to, ruled out infection and damage. So, by default, the cause was guessed, as my migraines. Anyway, I really appreciate this confirmation. I do know that my trigger for this type of migraine is rapid changes in barometer pressure, which got really bad when we moved to a mountain area with lots of weather changes. And my regular migraine pain medication does nothing for the ear pain.

I have also tried so many medications. I take gabapentin and verapamil. The gab didn’t help on it’s own, but between the two medications I’ve gone from an average of 15 migraines a month to 1-3 in the cooler months and 4-5 during the summer (heat and humidity is a big trigger for me).

I get this feeling that the air blows out from one ear which is not always associated with headache. Is it related to migraine of any sort. I also feel heavy headed and dizziness which cannot be explained as vertigo. There is no spinning but the head feels heavy and imbalanced. Is this migraine symptom. Another symptom is heaviness in eyes...like eyes are tired after crying for sometime.
