5 would be a good introduction, and then you can see where you go from there. Apart from the perfection that is persona 5 royal, giving P4 golden and maybe the new P3 reload a shot would be worth it as well
Would it be a good idea to start 5 and then switch to 3 reload when it comes out or should i just wait and start 3 reload when it comes out and play 5 after?😮
@@LeshawnKBM edit: on second thought, maybe just stick to one game and try to go through with it. Persona games are very time consuming games afterall. But you are free to do so if you wanna play P5R now.
Only a minute into this but you came in at honestly the perfect time for Persona. P3Reload, Persona 5 Royal and Persona 4 golden are really great starting points cause you can just pick it up and learn as you go forward. I really don't recommend Persona 1 or 2 because while they can be cool, the actual experience can be slow as hell in almost every aspect. Hope you get to enjoy this series man
I'll be the odd one out and suggest you start with Persona 4 Golden. Reason being: come February, it'll be the crustiest of the modern games. P5R and, now, P3R have a lot of quality of life updates to the gameplay that'll make going back to P4G feel like a step back. After that, you can't go wrong with P5R or P3R.
🤔hmm i haven’t seen anyone say this yet but it makes ALOT of sense but i have been wondering if i should start any of the games before 3 Reload comes out or should i just make content learning more about the games
I played Persona 5 Royal first, and I went back to Persona 4 Golden, I still enjoyed it. To me, graphics don't matter, as long as the game is fun and engaging. Haven't played Persona 3, but i can't wait for Reload!
Persona was one of those fun games that has a fresh theme and stakes in each one. If you wanna get darker, just look up Shin Megami Tensei. It’s subsidiary Persona has you save the world. Mainline Shin Megami Tensei has you determine the fate of the world.
Persona is literally my childhood, I've grown up playing persona 2 and then i played persona 3 when it came out and currently it is my favorite game ever, if you are to get into persona i do suggest you start with persona 5
Im not even gonna lie im really interested in this series! Im loving the artstyle and the story seems amazing (i dont really know much atm xD) but is it a bad idea to start 5 and then switch to 3 when it comes out or should i just wait for 3?
You should start with Persona 3 Reload. But tbh you can start whichever between 4Golden and 5Royal too. It's just the hype for reload is crazy right now because it's the new game/remake.
Most people are saying that i should start with 3 reload so im probably gonna start with that one (to avoid starting a game then switching to another one) is there anything you recommend i should react to or do until then😮
I would love to see you play one of these games. They are my fave game series! Persona 4 Golden is my favorite, but any one is fine! 3, 4 and 5 are when the main format of modern persona started and are all seperate stories you can play each one without knowing anything. Also just in case you don't know, a Modern Remake of Persona 3 called Persona 3 Reload is coming out Feb 2nd!! I'm so excited to play it I pre-ordered it!
I was looking to see what game was coming out next and i actually saw that 3 Reloaded was coming out really soon! So now im hesitant on if i should even start 4 or 5 before that one releases but i also dont know what else i could react to or do until then😄

There are some version of each number tho (not including spinoff). The latest for each are Persona 3 Reload (release 2/2/2024), Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal. You can start at any number since they are not directly connected story-wise. For starters tho, I recommend Persona 5 Royal, considered the easiest by some players, with most of Quality Of Life mechanic that will help you through the game.
there isn’t a single recommended start point for Persona. Each game is its own things, and while they all follow a general set of ideas and rules, the “mechanics” of how each games goes are different. Each game has its own cast, musical and visual style, plot, and distinct themes. I’d say just choose a single game that seems to interest you the most and go from there. I’d recommend not doing P1-2 as your first as they’re older. If persona 3-5 strike your fancy, you can jump into 1 & 2 afterwards. I’ll try describing all 3 of the modern games and you can decide what interests you the most: Persona 3: blue. Themes are about the meaning of life and death. Darkest of the 3 modern games. Hip hop/rap OST. Persona 4: yellow. Themes are about truth and accepting identity/circumstances. Happiest of the 3 modern games. Pop OST. Persona 5: red. Themes of rebellion, change, and non conformity. Middle road for happy and dark. Jazz OST. Each game and cast deals with coming of age. A lot deal with similar problems throughout each game, but how things play out and what issues are resolved depend on the game. P1-2 are the same, with 2 being the darkest and best written of the franchise. Games will reference on another, as every game go in chronological order.
If you wanna get into Persona, Persona 3 Reload or 5 Royal may be the place to start. I think 5 Royal is the place to start since they remade 3 based after changes made to 4 Golden and 5 Royal as 3 came put before the series really had a modern identity. All the stories are not really related to one another so you can start wherever. I would suggest 4 Golden to start as its the oldest of the "perfected persona games" and one of the most popular JRPGs of all time, but the game has gotten pretty old by this point and it can be overwhelming for new players given how much time management goes into it.
revelation persona gameplay is called dungeon crawlers I think. this game style was used in Etrian Odyssey series and persona q. this gameplay style was popular back then I think and a lot of jrpg for the 3ds use this style as well.
