    Do you think that beating the sap too fast can ruin some of the stickiness? Just curious.

      Yes! Using just enough heat to melt it is ideal as far as I’m concerned!

    any reason you do not use cheesecloth? Seems you would lose a lot going through a t-shirt. But I am so glad for your video, I just harvested some pitch with much debris.

      karrezza I didn’t have any cheesecloth so I used what I had!

    You're heating it way too fast, that's why it keeps catching on fire. Move it away from the fire a bit and let it heat slowly, indirectly.

    Ok at the "I'll be back" you give no info on what you are adding that turns it black. Clearly you have some on your plate at 6:38 , mark. Then you say "you add fiber.. at 8:31... what fiber?? Metamucil? No... but WTF is that stuff???

      karrezza its charcoal and the fiber is from a palm tree, but you can use dried grass or even rabbit or deer pellets!
