There are a couple of Vancouver trackless routes I have to get; one was bustituting the last time I was there due to work at Joyce-Collingwood station...
@busrailfan I had visited Edmonton as well earlier this year. I had been planning to get trackless trolley action there, and then found out I was 2 years too late about two months before my trip... darn it!
That red car is actually legally parked. The problem there is SEPTA has the overhead aligned horribly there, although it was not a problem for our old AM General trackless coaches due to their sliding shoes and poles having more swivel room (almost 180 degrees; the New Flyer coach sliders don't do that).
Hi Trainman1971 I Saw This Video By SeptaFan802 with the septa D40S and E40S and it might be similar to that dewirement cuz when it turned it didn't come off when it reached the switch it came off
That particular operator waited till he was parked for his layover before putting the poles back up; he just decided to put the EPU on to get out of the way quicker.
@trainman1971 - Yes I was noticing this! Was very interesting to see! I live only 13 hours drive from Vancouver and have recorded some of their E40LFR and E60LFR Trolley coaches, but I must get to Philly and check theirs out in the near future! I need to win the lottery!
@busrailfan I saw the first one dewire out the corner of my eye. I decided to wait for the next Cottman short-trip just to see if it was just a fluke or not. Nope, definitely a problem there. I didn't have room to tape it, but the 3rd Cottman turn dewired as well. I love how the first driver immediately turned on the EPU after he dewired. The second driver left his EPU on even after putting the poles back up; he shut it off after going up the block.
Well I found this video by septa fan but septa didn't fix it tho its still aligned horrible but there's another one that septafan captured where that bus turned but it didn't dewire at the cutback it dewired when it hit the switch
Good luck with your videos on Vancouver.
In the beginning, it's the e60lf
Thanks. It will just be a little piece there. I have bigger fish to fry sooner: the Bay area in April, Calgary in July....

@mad5210 I likely will. I doubt SEPTA has re-aligned the overhead properly yet....
Yep! Hi Chuck! It's Joe here...
Should go back there and see if you can catch more dewirements on that corner.
Nice catch on two dewirements of the Septa E40LFR's. I have never been able to catch a dewirement on video as of yet.
And Skytrain sounds in the background too.

If you de-wire and let the poles dangle, your sped is limited to 8 mph. Hook them down 24.9 mph.

Why wasn't that operator wearing a hi-viz vest?
Hi Joe.
Thanks
@busrailfan Yep! :)
It would have been three, but I didn't have time to wait for the next Cottman short-tripper. It's bad overhead placement.
Cool. do your thing
Really nice footage. Once the poles are off at 5:10, wasn't the operator supposed to put them on the hooks?
And to this day the cottman cutback is still aligned horribly

The first bus was like F it, I'm going EPU!
Love it
LOL
