    It's finally 2016 and I'm seriously considering voting this year. Ali Siddiq speaks from the heart and paints a perfect picture of the lack of choice in many underprivileged communities in our cities across America. Basically, what I'm saying is Ali Saddiq 2016! Continue to keep it trill good sir!

    We need to put kindergardens in nursing homes and have the kids grow produce for the old people. They're both just living in the moment. Theyre patient. Its natural. Can we get on this ?

    Good for you Ali, you are hilarious and incredibly aware. So much DOES go down in hospitals and homes for the elderly.
    I'm an RN manager at a very nice facility, with a company that's been around since the 1800's and has a solid reputation.. I'm about to get fired (just because it's illegal doesn't mean it doesn't happen) for reporting elder abuse at this facility that the entire staff - up to the administration - was complicit in. Abuse happens A LOT. You defined that dynamic perfectly.......

    It's weird. In the neighborhood in Philly in which I live, there's grocery stores reachable by many. However the closest things are beer stores, hair braiding salons, houses turned into children day cares, and Chinese takeout jawns.
    Every single block has one or the other. So while the ShopRite, or Fresh Grocery is a 10-15 min walk away, the crappier options are boom, right next door.
    I say it's weird, because it seems like a very small bubble, or something closed off.

    Much Respect! We need to teach our youth to be more respectful of our elders and to look out for them. This was the situation years ago, now people have no respect, others shun getting older, with all sorts of wrinkle cremes as if its a disease or something. We better hope we get older the way things are going now.

    If u elect that person, all they can do is One areas only for grocery stores. Or if they are smart start pop-up farmers market every week end but also allow craft vendors and food trucks. It works. If neighborhood rough have squads on the lot each end.

    He's speaking truth here but neither of the two main parties give a damn about poor people or attempting to improve their lives. He's a republican and that's beneficial to him because he has money, living behind a gated community now but that's only because he found a way out of an impoverished cycle that the government put in place to begin with since the 14th amendment. He has a talent that took him somewhere, you can never hate on him for that but if he were a regular former convict, depending on where he lived he might not have even had the right to vote until recently.

    This is an old video but somehow popped up.yes elderly do get literally beat in nursing homes.many yrs ago i was a cna at the old sping branch hospital.we had one old lady who had dementia and was just very combative.she would dig her nails into your skin with some unbelievable strength!! I would just get other staff to come help me restrain her.basically tie her down.one night me and another cna, an african woman, not an african american woman was helping me.She was always so helpful and pleasant to everyone.as we were helping, the elderly lady starting to thow fists and she dug her nails into the african lady.this was nothing new.she had done it to all of us.that african lady grabbed that old womans arm with one hand n swung a very very very hard punch on that old womans shoulder and again on her upper arm and her thighs about 3 times.with ALOT OF FORCE.the eldery lady started crying.i stood frozen.i didnt know what to do.i was 19 and a baby cna....i left the room and never did report it.i was scared.im 43 now and think back on that sometimes.god bless anybody in a nursing home.i resigned 2 wks later.i watched pts dying and would hold their hand or stroke their hair.say a prayer.most nurses wouldnt even come in the room untill the monitor flatlined.i would close their eyes n try to make the bed and pillow and their hair look decent for when the family arrived.ironically when family arrived, the nurses were so sympathetic and caring.it was a total shi* show of human indignity

    Some places have community gardens. They provide fresh vegetables, bring people together, and instill a sense of pride in children. Also, Covid revealed about half of Americans are in need of vitamin D3. That’s important in every system in your body. It is cheap.

    Voting is cool and all, but ... Politicians don't build grocery stores, or liquor stores for that matter. Free markets do. If that one store in town is selling out it's produce section every day, you can bet more will show up in town soon, no voting needed.

    Love Ali. But here is the actual problem. If you spend your money at a grocery store, the grocery store opens more locations. Spend your money at McDonalds, more McDonalds will open up. Representatives don't have any business deciding which business succeeds and which isn't allowed. The was a time that government said who was welcome and who wasn't. That shouldn't happen again. The people are only helpless when they expect someone to do it for them.

  • @jblaze7052
    @jblaze7052 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This isn't about voting. The government doesn't control what stores are in what cities, economics does that. If u want does in your city, you can't rob them. And whatever there's a market for, it will be sold. So whatever stores are in your neighborhood is a reflection of the demand in your neighborhood.

  • @claytonmarkin7863
    @claytonmarkin7863 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The government doesn't build grocery stores. Food deserts are huge problem, but you can't just cry government every time something sucks. Bad neighborhoods have liquor stores and pawn shops because those are the only places that are equipped to handle being robbed and worked over all the time. Safeway doesn't build a store in these areas because it would get robbed and generally destroyed. I get the problem, but I don't get the solution. What is the state going to do?

    • @tmanepic
      @tmanepic 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's the government's responsibility to promote the welfare of its citizens. Governments are responsible for urban planning, public transit, and districting where certain businesses can be located. In addition, if a community is lacking an essential service such as grocery stores, local governments can set tax incentives to promote those businesses to move in to the area. I recommend you do a little research into the power and affect the government has on your life and most importantly, participate in all elections because they affect you DIRECTLY! I can't emphasize that enough.

Also, everytime I'm in the US my blood sugar creeps up because you put sugar in EVERYTHING. I will drive for miles to find bread without added sugar, the sweet stuff tastes terrible to me. I have to read every ingredient on everything I buy to avoid *added* sugar. Your labels nearly all have added sugar. It's no wonder you're all sick with diabetes.
