I like having a server for newer players. Me and a Colonial spent five minutes shooting at each other without landing a single shot. Peak gaming experience.
This is how it often goes for me too: "There's gunfire coming from there I should shoot there" "There hasn't been any gunfire from there in a while. Did I get him? Lets focus on other areas" "Take cover! Take cover!" This can go on for a while because I proceed to do the same thing. A few times I "played dead" to let a tank come close enough for me to throw a grenade. Only one time worked properly though because other times their infantry support cleared me out. Still, fun times.
I think one of the issues that causes the population imbalance is players being railroaded towards Charlie. Every day when I log on the game warns me about queues in Able, and the option "wait in queue" makes it sound like I have to queue to play in Able, which isn't the case. I can see a lot of newer players being confused by that and moving to Charlie under the impression that Able is full, it had me confused for a while. So over time, more players join and more players end up in Charlie, and if they're new they won't necessarily even know they can change what Shard they're on, or that they're even in a different shard. Like I said, I didn't until I saw someone chatting about it. EITHER WAY we should stop bothering the Charlie shard players other than maybe just informing them Able needs help or smth, no need to grief them into a burnout.
@@Lem0nsquid No 100% you're right, I just have a theory that new players tend to go Colonial more bc it's more familiar looking etc, which is why I mentioned about newer players not knowing about it.
@@SockeySoka yea I definitely agree on the familiarity. I started out as a collie years back but the uniqueness of the wardens eventually lead me to the faction and have remained since
I’m a 74th member on Charlie wardens and we had a group of able vets steal our frigate because our facility squad, forget to reserve it like they were supposed to. They used it effectively and killed a shit ton of stuff, but they didn’t ask and that’s why it pissed us all off.
Dude it doesn't really matter how well it was used them stealing it was a prick move and I can tell you they give zero shits about stealing it and would do it again. But they would fucking rage if they forgot to refresh their own squadlock and someone stole their ship.
I had someone on my side part of the 74th team. Who team kills them abuses the report button to get his own team band. Y'all need more control over your faction.
@DaRealHashBrown I'm very curious as to who in the 74th did this as well. To my knowledge the only people we've mass reported have been those who griefed/alted us first, with screenshots and log data as proof. If this is some other case I'd love to know about it.
I joined a regiment of the CIG coalition. They train newcomers well and they make them comfortable with the game. I belive the CIG minset make newcomers more engaged in the game
I think all the people saying charlie isn't real or whatever need to get off the game and touch grass. Both servers are real , both wars matter just the same. it's a fictional war meant to be played to have fun for both sides not a real life war. Touch grass. Have fun, let others have fun. This game is great. From the start of my journey of just watching yt vids to now actively fighting and having fought in charlie and able, there is literally no difference. Re-name the servers to server 1 and 2 and shuffle them around. People need to stop creating issues that should not exist.
For sure! As long as players are having fun that's all that matters to me. The only thing I would say I dislike right now about some Charlie players is that there is a Charlie player base that only plays the game on Charlie and will never join Able. I respect their decision to do this but it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth and it means that other issues need to be addressed if that makes sense.
Charlie right now has a casualty rate of 4200ish an hour. Able has a casualty rate of 4400ish. That suggests a very similar population level at least at this point in the two wars. I understand when Charlie is nearly empty why people don't think of it as an actual fight to some extent. But it's got plenty of people playing their hearts out right now.
@@RobertLovesGames I think your recommendation of a server lock should be applied. But strictly. No listening to the whining able players that we need to play the "REAL" war on charlie. The only effective things the dev should do is merge both wars and make both of them the "REAL" wars. Both wars and the time invested in them should matter. And no player should feel that one server is inferior. as I said in my original comment , make the servers just server 1 and 2 and balance players based on how full one server is. Able and vet players may whine for a bit but in 2-3 wars no one will care and it'll lead to a healthier system for the community and a less strained servers. Also will solve the 'All front lines are full" problem. I think a middle ground of time should be established where you can only join both servers in the early stages of the war , not the late stage if you are already playing on able since from proof of previous data we know losing a war and frustration cause this.
@@johnbaker7322 that's it! both wars matter 100%. After all we as players give them value. What value does Able's "REAL WAR" have when the player count is low? We should move away from this hate festival and learn to enjoy both servers as what they are. Servers.
Charlie is fine. Ive been playing there from the beggining of this war and meet a lot of ppl like me. We didnt need any vets Regi to figure it out how to play. We still dont need them, Charlie is fine as it is. 🤠👊 For the Colonials we will win this war no matter what cost.
Love to hear it! There might be a bit more drama like this coming if the Able war ends soon. Everyone is going to come over to Charlie and finish that war out. Keep up the good fight!
Rejecting the vets isn't how you're gonna enjoy the game. They're an important aspect of it and can greatly help you learn / do thing you could never do before. For the end is our glory !
That Frigate you mentioned in the beginning was stolen by the way (and it wasn't the first time, some of us tried to explain how to squad lock it but they didnt listen aparently). It was a suicide mission so the Frigate was eventually destroyed. The clan that owned the Frigate has now given up their base and might not come back to the game. Yeah, they should have locked it but who steals a large ship like that? Its also unclear (to me, at least) whether it was actually Able Collies who stole it. They kept on changing their Regiment tags to different, well known, Able Collie Regiments.
Well that's really crappy to hear. I don't know if you are in touch with that clan at all but if they come back for war 120 I will be Warden and I can get them a free Frigate if they need one! Have them reach out to me!
@@RobertLovesGames I just started playing a week and a half ago so I could be wrong but unless it's another frigate, our frig (74th) got stolen by able guys who took it to the front and suicided so sounds like they're probably talking about ours and if they are, our reaction was a solid meh. We were more annoyed about a few alts continually attempting to steal shit this past weekend than the frigate. I don't know anyone who's said anything about being anywhere near quitting over any of it. It was an annoyance and they're assholes for doing it, but no reason to try to fear monger about whole Regis quitting over it. Again, very well might not be the same ship but since it just happened and was confirmed able alts I'm assuming it's ours.
I just wanted to say as a brand new player who joined about 2 weeks ago and is playing in my first war, I accidentally joined Charlie instead of Able (I didn't even know there were multiple servers when I got the game). The experience has been great so far. I have been doing logi in Red River/Cannonsmoke and everyone has been very friendly and patient. I have asked a lot of questions and the people have taught me a lot. Shoutout to RSI, TRD, and CFD regiments on Charlie! I am a solo player and have not picked a regi yet, but I'm not sure if I will anytime soon. I enjoy playing solo after work.
I just got this game the other day and am finding it fun even tho I barely know what I am doing. Helped dig a large base last night which managed to hold off numerous waves of enemies
lol I would love that! Alright folks come up with some inside joke you can all start saying to me when you see me :D like "can't wait for you to eat a shoe next year!"
I always love hearing feedback from the player base and getting a pulse on what is actually happening within the game. As I mentioned in the video I don't like to sugar coat anything and will talk about how I really feel about these situations.
As a member of SIMP we have gone back to Charlie aka our roots to recruit and teach the new folks the game. Don’t let a few bad apples ruin your experience when you can change that for yourself and more experienced peeps like my self and others can teach you
Hello leader of exiled here as a regiment that started out in able and moved to Charlie to get away from toxic clans, we managed to make a discord where all Charlie regiments talk and communicate which is allowing us all to learn a lot more and help each other out! We also do weekly meetings for the regiments so that all regiments in Charlie can come together and talk about what we need done and help with in the Charlie war!
Hey there, I remember 1 of your clanmates yelling at anyone of everyone near Treasury frontlines, a few days before we finally took the Treasury. Specifically, it was regarding 1 Warden Highwayman Mk. 3 running rampant near our bunker base. Man was frustrated and started calling everyone retarded for not picking up AT to kill the tank, telling a "foreigner" to shut up when spoken back to, because his rank is higher than whoever it was that spoke back to him. He also complained why he is playing on Charlie with a bunch of noobs when he could be on Able instead. There are a number of ways to get a bunch of ptes to become engaged in destroying 1 highwayman rather than yelling nonsense, or else just stay on Able if they hate noobs doing what they can to keep the frontlines from falling. Honestly though it's probably 1 bad apple within your regi, not saying it's your entire regi.
HEy, I just wanted to say, this is my first week in foxhole, i don't have much time either because of my final exames but this Game just looked like the Game I was looking for years. I started on Charlie but quickly went on Able, because I didn't understand the differences and the moste Regiments are on Able. So I joined a Regiment on the second day of my Journey, switched to Able and just wanted to say thank you for your tutorials and work you are putting in this videos. Because of you I finally started playing the game, and joining a regiment. Firstly I was worried that a noob like me might not be wanted of an Regiment, but I just met players which were understanding and helped me, thank you for your videos and helping us get into the game. I hope you keep producing Foxhole content till the end of the game
In a regiment you get a way better shot st coordination. We always have Randoms with us but we are needed for them to gain access to the bigger picture war machines and methods.
My regiment plays Charlie because regiments count more than on Able. On Able once you bring few tanks, you get qrf'd and you'll stuck here forever, while on Charlie one regiment can cause havok, its nice to see consequences of your actions.
Used to play back when Baker was used as an overflow shard, and decided to make my return war on Charlie this year. Being able to guide the new players about the different concepts of the game is extremely fun to see from a "Vet" perspective if I can even call myself that, as while I have played Foxhole since War 80 I never fully committed to it. Recently the Charlie Colonials managed to make one of the largest planned operations to date in the war, with us taking over the Endless Shore hex completely, with it allowing for rapid movement into the surrounding hexes, which shows that cooperation is becoming more and more common among the newer players. We will see how the situation will change with the Able War nearing its end, but my own regi and some other players have expressed wishes to trial our skills on Able with the upcoming 120 War.
I would recommend either hanging out on Charlie for one more war. Rn Able is... having some growing pains... regarding changing how colonials there do things and what needs to be done to try and win. I'm thinking of swapping to Charlie shard myself, simply because Charlie appears to have it together a touch more...
Are you sure it ain't the other way around? Because I don't know what you were seeing the last few days, but the Collies on Able got steamrolled the last three days, while the Collies on Charlie are having our best push yet in the same timeframe. As far as the Blueberry seals, they tend to come in during the wee hours, about 4:00AM-9:00AM EST, when the numbers are low. That's when we Collies lose a lot of regions we won the day before. But, honestly, I think a lot of Collies on Able are giving up now, and coming over here to Charlie. The relative gains and losses over the last couple days seems to bear this out.
I think you're right about able collies moving over. I noticed that once the front on able collapsed, the east on charlie started getting pushed HARD by collies
I don’t agree that vet players are overwhelmed to new players It’s that people who turn into assholes as they become vets then start being overbearing and controlling to anyone they deem beneath themselves and force their opinions as fact down newer players’s throats causing unnecessary stress for both parties
A new player here, who got the game due to your videos on the matter. I was originally on the Charlie server as a Warden, fighting an endless war at The Calastra over the bridge between Transept and the Watchful Nave. I saw and partook in the Bridge rebuilding probably half a dozen times. Every time we would push, only for the Colonial defense and surprise offensive to push us back over the bridge. It was a fun time I had, being part of pushes either as infantry (I tried using mortars once, but accidentally stood right behind another player when firing. You can imagine what lesson I learned rather quickly…), Push gun crew, Tank crew, as part of an Artillery crew, rebuilding the Bunker Base after the Colonials had rained down shells across the night. But, after a week or so of intermittent playing, this little corner war began to grate on me. They'd sometime push us back to the Treasury, but we'd push them right back. Determined to remain in the same column until the end, it wasn't until a massive Colonial push made us leave even Treasury that I decided (and realized I could do so due to one of your videos) to switch over to Able and try the Warden experience there. Ironic that people from Able were basically making the same move in the opposite. Albeit for much less justifiable reasons, if I dare say. Rather petty goings I'd call it. Ah, but oh well!
Oh boy! I was a Colonial Stationed at Watchful Nave over the last few weeks, I must have built the bunker system 3 times across the bridge, just to login again to y'all having it again!
Hehe...I know that bridge. From the other side. The second day I was there, we ran out of everything except hammers and pistols. People running up to each other fighting hand-to-hand...like Mammon rushing without the Mammons. So I went to the Drowned Vale front soon after.
I can't tell you how many truckloads of BMATS I ran down to The Treasury factories the last couple weeks. It was a gut punch when the goblins captured it.
Haha, it's so interesting to hear others stories from either side. How things on the colonial side sounded very dire (I do remember one time we pushed over the bridge, I saw a sign giving a communal point to deliver equipment from the dead, but despite that, at points we weren't any better as we had similar placements). A few I talked to at Transpet had some interesting perspectives about the Colonial retaliations and how organized they were. Very interesting to hear how… things were on the other side of that little pond. It's one thing I like about this game, everyone has their own little story they've tailored through the unique experiences they've had. It's just neat. Especially to hear from others.
So, I'm on Charlie. We were pushing into Sable Port without much issue, with the wardens holding a 21 to the collies' 19 for about two weeks with only a 1 victory point shift every other day. Then, literally overnight Monday, the Collies are now winning. My entire front got upended, and they've taken Southern Blade, and we're hit with tactics we haven't even seen yet. it made the game a lot more depressing to me, as someone who plays this game as a meme-- making pigeon sounds and enjoying the wholesome interactions.
this is why warden vets need to come and show people not yell or tell but show and teach that this is what happens on able so it's not a shell shock to new players we teach on the center east and far east and you can see were not pushing with out including new players letting them see how a defense can hold up what it takes to maintain those spots and how to deal with ships that come to attack you like the battle ship that got shelled for coming into the area.
You can believe me or not, but my regiment and like 8 other coordinated for that, and i know for a fact 6 of them started playing on this war. Im sure there are veteran collies participating but that was organized by new players, and this is in fact coming someone involved in orchestrating that push.
@ the push was probably valid but it doesn’t feel that way when an able regiment named the RR and a few players with their names being the same as the discord popped up
@@ImpossiblyPyro-pigeonyeah i feel you, we make tanks and we have bts and an ares and everytime we go somewhere we get jumped by storm so there are def able clans influencing the war and i wish it wasnt the case for either side
The whole reason I am scared of switching to Able is because ive heard nightmares about "hour long queues" and "Regi's mass reporting for using their resource node" which ive not heard the same stories on charlie. I enjoy designing BB's and Facilities but with my small group I dont think we would enjoy the much more serious environment that able has been made out to be to us.
It's no where near as bad as people make it as long as you get registered on either the warden or colonial hubs you can fight anything that pops off usually.
@@TheThiroc I play as a duo, and have run a facility for my first war on charlie, we have been producing a fairly large amount of 150/120 each day. Our fear is that we couldnt do that without significantly more people on able.
none of these issues happen lol, genuinely most able regis are new player friendly, and reports literally only happen if someone is so blatantly greifing that it's the only option, even the idea of hour long queues mostly happen due to a pop imbalance on the shard, if people would come over from the other shard the queues would be fixed bc queues try to balance hex player count
@SkarDungeon hell my bunch has done it with three people key with able is see who is doing what each side has a discord hub and I think a website so you can see where the major clans are setting up and there's usually room on midline sections somewhere where you truly need ammo facs
@cornblaster7003 yeah usually this pops off from alting but I've run into a few players that have tried to mass report over the years badmanlarry and helping Hans to name two of em
I just came from Charlie, playing as Warden. I have the feeling I have been clubbed. We were mostly unattached, low-ranking players with standard uniforms, but the colonials had regimental IDs, higher ranks and specialised uniforms. Of course, they could have developed those in Charlie, but...We destroyed their base and in 4 minutes they were back with a digger and 3 tanks. Not seen that efficiency in Charlie Colonials before, but again, may be everyone is getting better as the war goes on ...🤨.
It's never around long enough to get content going really. Especially when all major clans and players play on Able. If Charlie was open more often you would probably see more content from it honestly.
i agree with this. As a new player i got absolutely destroyed by more experienced players in Charlie and i don't feel like playing the game anymore. Although i love the concept of the game it just sucks feeling so one sided sometimes.
I haven't played in well over a year, so stumbling my way through relearning everything on a sever that is less try-hardy has been great. But I also feel that I have a decent handle on the game from previous wars that I could help out NEW new players. My main goal was to produce public harvesters for the hex since I don't really remember seeing public ones back when I used to play on Able. I haven't felt stressed to min-max everything. Just produce what I can, when I can. While relearning building, and its infuriating intricacies, I accidentally built a bunker that kinda looks like a cat when viewed from a certain angle. I know I would have been yelled at for waisting resources or not being efficient in my garrison placements or something. I'm kinda proud TBH, I got to build my first howie which is pretty cool.
able is genuinely nowhere near as bad as people think it is lol, you cooperate with people and they'll teach you how to play no problem, genuinely most of the idea that able is worse to new players comes out of charlie loyalists and people who blame the vets being "anti new player" when in reality they're just unpleasant to be around or are refusing to stop doing something harmful after it's been explained to them why they shouldn't do that
I hate to say this but you would be surprised how some players feel towards one another about who plays on Able and who plays on Charlie. I would not say it's common by any means but players have told me about situations like this. I'm trying to break down that barrier and division, though it may be a long process.
@@CsDeathshadow Sadly, hoping for a bunch of individuals to change their behavior won't happen. It happens top down, and requires the devs and players to establish it from the beginning. At this point you couldn't 'naturally' improve the community as a whole, maybe in theory if you spent an obscene amount of time, to individually punish people who were going around being dicks, sure. But as it is, the people who are going around and ruining other peoples games, are going to keep doing that. They know they suck, but there's no negative consequences for it, so who cares? In theory another possibility would be having admins who are able to nudge aspects of the war, weather or resources or such based of groups and players and skill, but that quickly gets into like 'fairness' issues, and outside of a system built into the game itself, I don't think you're likely to see an implementation like that.
as someone who did their first two wars on Charlie, just play Able imho I wish I would of just waited 5 minutes for Able Q. killing Charlie won't really help but that's how it goes, Charlie dies quickly anyhow. in my opinion Charlie is good for those who don't wanna join a big clan and play 2-3 hours with a close group. edit: going from Able to Charlie to stomp is b*'*' boy behaviour and server locks should be a thing for Able, if you go from Charlie to Able that's fine but eventually you will be locked to Able.
I do not believe that colonial able vets going to charlie wardens to end the war is such a good idea. First all the time they spend on charlie is time we have less vets in able. And second if charlie war end there will be more players on both sides on able. Not only the colonial one.
I started playing foxhole today and i started on charlie as a warden, i noticed a large number of people standing still in front of enemies, and even people wasting entire stocks of AT ammo just to get pushed by tanks as soon as they were finished. It seemed a little strange, i was talking about it with a friend some minutes ago, and now that you say this i think it makes sense
If you want new recruits, then join Charlie and teach new players about what they want to learn and what you want them to join and do. That’s what I do, and that’s what seal clubbers should do (I don’t recruit new players as much as just teach them the game and ask if they want to join Able)
Appreciate the video! I have to say, I have never had as much fun as I have had this war on Charlie. Met a group of great guys in Red River and we organically created a Regi with a mix of experience levels. Some of us were newer for sure but we also have some vets that wanted to be more involved in planning, building and organizing than you sometimes can on Able. I think some of the issue is that on Able, the large Regi's typically run the show and don't allow any players (Not just new) to be allowed the freedom to help make decisions and be involved with the process as they already have the "Best way" to do things figured out.
Hello Robet! I don't usually comment but.. Cool vid., i've heard this stuff too.. However i'm sure some regiments just go on Charlie to take a break from Able, or just for a break war of a kind.. But yes, i saw some Able regiments going hard on Charlie. But also some regiments just may need to recruit new players, or some veteran players may decide to create a new regiment on Charlie, with would be an issue if: 8:38 would happen, mainly since there is a number of Vets, not really that small as you may think, with goes to chill on charlie and help newbies, for so, rank lock would be a really bad idea. Also one think with really needs to be mentioned, the new Charlie generation will have really hard time switching to Able, from no frontlines, to long conc bases, from one regi controlling one hex, to one regi fighting over an oil filed. I personally remember in 1.0 switching from C to A shard, and it was not easy, really hit hard the first few days, a huge change for the players.
Thanks! And yes that's true some players do go on Charlie just to get a different perspective and relax. I think once Able ends a lot of players will go over to Charlie and the Charlie players will see this all first hand soon. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
yeah, 99% of the time there's no malice to able players going over to Charlie, the actual bigger problem is the fact that charlie's player base attacks any vet that dares play on their server, so many charlie shard loyalists are so much more toxic than any able vet I've ever seen so it's very funny that able players are considered the toxic ones
im pretty new but I went straight into able because I joined a regiment immediately genuinely some of the nicest and most helpful people Ive met it kills me seeing players driven away by a few bad actors in the community salty about being in a tough spot on able who decided to massacre the poor newbies trying to get good enough to be use to their team
As a new player I must say playing in charlie as a collie was a nightmare. We were always lower on supplies. We always had less tanks and artillery. And there was no strategic attacks happening on our side. So with all my rage I changed servers and picked the wardens bc I thought they had better equipment and better regiments. That wasnt the case ofc but my point is a lot of ppl do what I do which is the opposide of what the vets want. They are getting more enemy recruits on the main war by stomping on newbies
They have done this in the past. I would guess we see more hexes added with the new airborne update. Or at least I hope so. What they could do is also change the layout of some current hexes. For example Kings Cage is rarely played in and rarely qued. If they changed the layout it could be another active front.
@@RobertLovesGames It's almost like it's an infinitely scalable system. Making a global persistent war. I understand the amount of content to create blows out exponentially, but adding shards is simply stupid when you have this ability to scale.
When I first started playing this game in its early beta phases, it was certainly more friendly/doable to solo. But the truth is you’re better off joining a clan to get the most out of the game. Not every clan is the same so you shouldn’t feel forced to join a sweaty tryhard group
Agreed! I played solo for my first 300 hours or so and loved it. Things did just get a bit easier when I joined a clan though. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
as much as the situation sucks, i find it rather interesting as its in some ways analogous to a proxy war. colonials and wardens joining the opposite faction on charlie shard in order to end/continue its war to try to gain/negate an advantage in the main conflict reads a lot like that.
Thing is, having charlie as a "noob" server and Able as the primary server is a community invention. The devs did it for player numbers. I'm a 'vet', but terrible mechanically when it comes to combat; I always play support roles, and play Charlie for less queue time, and to be more chill. I think Foxhole should embrace a multifront server system. Make C or B akin to the African front in WW2, where gains in 1 affects the other. It would not only make the community spread out the skill level more evenly, making it matter less if a regiment or 5 swap servers for an operation, it could help keep the playerbase active by reducing burnout because players can get a change of scenery by swapping.
Unfortunately, it's devman invention. Prior to this update war they made clear division that Able is for veterans and experienced players while Charlie is for new players. This division is in their Infantry Update Shard Launch Times blog post from November the 12th.
I'm glad you mentioned this, its been crazy the past couple days. Its my first war, and seeing Able brush off our colonial efforts on our Charlie server as vets carrying us instead of being legit has been disheartening. I wish my Charlie breathern the best of luck!
In many cases, it's vets fault... Some people can't name a difference between "Teaching people" and "Forcing their style"... And the more they push, the more they are making newbies not listen to them... Also, for example, during my second war, at start, I did some basic logi (getting scraps, making bmats and then some basic equippment for public use)... After 2 days I decided to build a facility... I choosen a free, not claimed by anyone space... After I finished my first buildings, a Colonel from one regi shown up and started thretening me to remove my facility or they will destroy it... We talked a few minutes and he agreed to give me some time to move my stuff somewhere else... After like 20 minutes, he shown up again, but with bunch of guys from his regi, flagged my facilities and started to throw mammons at my buildings... When I asked why he didn't wait I just heard "Change of plans"... Only thing I was left was a flatbed with a resource container... So yeah, not all vets are really helpfull...
That is from the devs! They post videos like this on their twitter sometimes and I use them in my videos because they looks so cool! Wish I had the dev camera!
Charlie is an overflow server for new players during update wars. This whole rivalry started when they named the server something and now its causing people to quit. I started my foxhole journey as a warden on charlie and I hate what is going on. Although my first battle was a high rank gathering a bunch of low ranks to join him while teaching a few of us things.
@@RobertLovesGames haha. i thought it was pretty obvious :P if anyone is curious go back 2 videos and listen to robert's voice than listen on this vid lol
As someone who has played Foxhole for a little over 2 weeks. I personally joined Charlie because it looked like Able were full, and i did not want to spend the fist evening playing foxhole sitting in a queue. And while i were fully aware before i started playing that i can swap between them whenever i want, i've decided to stick with the war in Charlie until it ends. (And i still have a lot to learn)
To be fair were at the point in alpha where we are just trying to find good fights and make em last as long as possible on the collie side. We're trying to wrangle as many noobs as we can and stick em in whatever roles they wanna learn. I was told as a noob "ignore the queue warning and join able, collies need manpower"
This is my first war playin as a Charlie Collie. The community of players eager to learn and to teach is amazing to see. We recently pulled off a major multi regiment offensive through Endless Shore, although i’m sure some seal clubbers could have been amongst the ranks. We take pride in figuring out tactics and logistics ourselves! Rock and Stone Charlie brothers🤘🏼
I am playing occasionally as Warden, and my current rank is WO2. When the last war started (after winter 2024 update), there was no room at Able so I started playing in Charlie. And I have to say it was a really fun, despite the frontline itself was pretty much locked for the entire time of fighting. Even the number of casualties was similar on both sides. Furthermore, I was playing in general only in two hexs: Marban Hollow and Drowned Vale. It was interesting how slowly is the frontline moved on forward and backward, but it was fun. I assume that both factions are well balanced, and it was actually really interesting to play. But on December 22nd, the huge number of Collie tanks and infantry supported with one battleship completely overrun half of Marban Hollow. Someone in comments mentioned that those are companies from Able so I searched for information and found this video. Well that pretty ruined the complete experience. Okay, I am not so unexperienced player, and the Wardens made heroic resistance (and that has its own fun - fighting over superior enemy), but in general it's not a fair play. If you are frustrated loosing on one server why you wan't to go to other server to ruin their play?! Maybe the solution is to not allow to change the server in the middle of war?
I was playing on the same front as the Colonials. Like you, I started this war on Charlie, and my team has been in the Drowned Vale for a good month. Current rank 2LT. Yes, I was part of that operation yesterday. And most of the people I saw on my front were regiments I've been fighting with, and you've been fighting against, since the start: LoL, VFC, the 11th, the Rangers, and so on. Able people didn't coordinate that. We coordinated it. We were planning for at least a week, building up our reserves, talking with other local regiments that operate out of Allod's Bight, the Clahstra, the Deadlands, and so on. We all committed ourselves to staying in that day with a few goals in mind, not all of which we achieved. But no. That offensive was us, not Able. Look, I of all people get demoralized when I come into The Baths and see half the northern Town Centers blue on the map, and you guys pushing up half a dozen armor and a dozen highly skilled infantry into the Saltcaps and the Baths northern front. We could never keep Loggerhead and Wisp's Warning under our control for more than a day. I get even more demoralized when it happens in the wee hours when nobody is on. We speculated that you had Able guys had seals of your own logging in, knocking down our defenses, and then going back to Able for the past few weeks. Is that true? It doesn't matter to me, but we're curious. Anyway, we got sick of getting pushed around in Lockheed, so we decided to take the offensive to you guys. We got organized, we built a massive series of tanks, 40mm, shirts, and BMATs for this, got the Bluefin there near the Treasury from the back regis, got the battleship to bombard Maidensvale, and we chose this Sunday to do it, because we knew we might get a good push from randos waiting for Able to start IF we got the casualties high enough, and IF we could keep the supplies moving. Neither one of those was guaranteed. But, both things happened, and our guys performed exceptionally well...especially the infantry that was in the initial fighting around 12:00PM to 3:00PM EST. We didn't expect to last as long as we did and push as hard as we did. They were meant to be a distraction while the main armor push was going to come from Splitrocks and out east from the Treasury. But then, we decided on the fly that the infantry was performing so well, we needed to send the armor push to support them through Lockheed. It was a good fight. It still is a good fight. You Wardens have good, skilled people there, and you ought to be proud of what you all have done. It was hard going yesterday. I lost something like four logi trucks out of my private stockpiles, and lost a lot of supplies in transit, because you guys didn't roll over. You kept on sticking in it. That's resolve, and despite what we did, you guys are doggedly determined, and deserve my respect.
Hey Robert as a new player and as both wars seem to be coming to an end I think it would be helpful to make a video on what start of a war is like and what to expect
Idk, it’s been a great fight so far in Charlie. It’s my first war, I’m a colonial, ~100hrs. We train our new players on logi and do our best to support each other with medics and supplies. We do have big ops from regiments, but often they include other players who aren’t in those regiments. Doesn’t seem like it’s mismatched right now, unless there is an enormous amount of regiments that joined colonial in recent days that have contributed to pushes. Even so, I still think a lot of our members are taking ownership and trying to contribute to the overall war effort.
I'm a Charlie Warden player, this is my first war so I don't really know when we are vet players from Able or just experienced Charlie players. This is just me ranting about my experiences the last few days because even though I'm new to this game I absolutely love it and want to share my experiences. Ferimor has been fought over many times by now. Two days ago was the first time I was actually around to see us being pushed out of Feirmor (our main base had already fallen but we were still maintaining a presence there when this happened). We were doing fine when four enemy armoured vehicles showed up. I have been in such a situation once before on the same front. That time it led to us having to blow up a bridge we had built maybe an hour ago. Even then the situation had taken some time to stabilise. This time too we lost a lot of ground initially. We were pushed out of Feirmor and lost a lot o ground in Tomb. I was genuinely thinking that we were about to lose Tomb because we didn't have armour. Though one tank did end up joining the counterattack eventually. Once the intial fast advance of the enemy had stopped due to trenches, to my surprise this time players decided to be more active about dealing with enemy tanks. Some players were encouraging people to swarm the enemy tanks and several people were shooting RPGs. We managed to push them out of Tomb and they were forced to blow up the bridge. Next time we went to the other side I saw signs warning Collie players against rebuilding the bridge just like we had on our side. It felt very satisfying to see those signs and I felt proud of the people on that front, some of which had become familiar names by then even if I didn't talk to them. Part of the series of events was due to logi. During the previous tank rush the base only had anti tank rifles and some mammons to deal with tanks wheras the second time we had RPGs which people either seem to like using more or they're just more likely to do damage. On our Feirmor foothold we had AT weapons that were unusable which is why we couldn't do anything (There were a lot of grenade launcher greandes but no grenade launcher). Once we got to a base with AT we pushed them back. I like to think that aside from logi the players there had also learned not to panic against tanks and instead deal with them effectively. I know I did. During the last assault I had a good sniping spot so I was using an AT rifle to hold them back but whenever I faced a tank, even if it was one, then I had a tendency to take hide in a hole and try to pick off infantry. If I happened to pick a mammon then the plan got upgraded to hide in a hole and try to throw a grenade. I still do the latter but now I make more of an effort to go to holes closer to the tank instead of waiting for it. I also feel more confident with AT rifles now even when I don't have a perfect spot like i did the previous time. Overall, despite the relatively short time I have learned a lot aside from what I mentioned and this has been a great experience. I was worried the community might be toxic but I was pleasently surprised. Only seen two instances of players being toxic in the chat but they feel insignifcant compared to the behaviour of the rest of the community. I am going to stick to Charlie for the forseeable future though. I have a lot to learn still and I enjoy the atmosphere here. Maybe some day I'll go to Able and be pleasently surprised there as well but I'm committed to the war in Charlie this time. It is oddly pleasent and comforting to see certain players that have beeen fighting on the same front as me for days even if I never talk to them.
I joined Charlie as a new player this war at about day 10 on the Warden side, and it started off quite even. We soon gained a small advantage at about day 20 or so, and held that advantage. But once the Colonials on Able started losing decisively, it became noticeably harder to make advancements and hold areas on Charlie. I think we lost about 2-3 victory points in just a day or two. It really seemed like a ton of Collie vets were transferring over. It was alright at first but a few days later it started to get disheartening and annoying. I'm probably just going to wait until Able starts war 120 so I can not only avoid the Charlie drama but also experience what it is like during the start of a war.
I really enjoy your content. I played foxhole back in war 99 and quit after getting clubbed. I started late in this current war but I’m seeing the vets around me. I wonder if fix flipping would be an option to correct alpha to Charlie. Make it so these vet players can change the server but they gotta be opposite faction of the alpha.
The devs could try the server lock that you mentioned, but that would just cause players to get alt accounts to achieve the same thing. So IP Lock + Account lock to specific servers after playing for x hours on a server
The problem I would say is well with this seal clubbing, Is the fact that it also screws over people on the able server. I play for the Colonials as well and the fact is if most of the vets have went Over to another server. I think this whole strategy is proven counterproductive because if the aim was to try and conclude the Charlie war quickly it looks like those vets have gotten bogged down in a war that's likely going to last longer than able. As well as the fact that Since they've left the able server they've basically Has stripped much needed manpower and resources from the Frontline Which in turn is why you're seeing the colonials Losing territory to the warden's at a faster pace. So overall if their intentions were to try and bring over the people from the Charlie server to help With the able server Clearly this plan has backfired
I played Charlie from 96-99 and vet stacking isn't always a bad thing. So long as those vets take the time to teach those around them it can be a very positive experience. I lucked out and got picked up by a man named Wafflez. He taught me all about being a partisan and such. It led to the player I am today and without his vet experience being passed onto me, I feel like I'd still be floundering around here and there.
Charlie loyalist here. I started recently so I am a noob but I don't think i'll ever leave Charlie for Able. I'd rather participate in making history here than join a hundred wars in on Able. What i would love to see is more independent persistence or fundamental diffrence between the servers. Give us a reason to play both, ya know?
The game doesnt have enough players to always have other servers up and expecting people to play both wars is way to unreasonable, logi on one server alone is near a second job, next war is relic war and this war had more island resources + starting borders change so differnt wars do have differnces
@@thejimjimjim7 maintence supplies alone would kill the average man if asked to do alone and now one has to do on both servers out of his own free will? You would need to summon the king of unemployment for such a task
what region? Ive admired the heck out of the Warden players. And this war has been great imho. (Its my first... so I really dont know what a good war is I guess)
Yes it should be that way. We have never really had this happen in the past. Normally the Charlie war is pretty much dead by now so it normally does not matter. Once Able war ends this time around we will see how it plays out.
The one thing that I have heard when Charlie Opened up. That it was a LARP server. They had two official discord servers. One was a Serious discord but unfortunately half of the people didn't like it. Due to them taking the game too serious for Colonials so half of them left to make a new LARP discord. People who built stuff based on how it would have been done back in WW1/WW2. The other thing was alts from Able when the war ended / those vets who wanted a break of the main war on able. They just dicked around and served no real purpose to help win the war. It was the later end of the wars on Charlie before they officially closed them. We saw the seal clubbing. Overall from Colonials I have talked with loved Charlie for the not so serious taking of wars or actually trying to win them. Make wars more accurate to what they would have been throughout history. Also the discord that is used is nothing like the Able Discord. The stories that I have from the times that Charlie was active at the start of the major update when the game went out of Early Access to version 1.0. we're interesting because there's only about two or three regiments that would actively try to fight and win the war with very strategic tactics. The rest were too busy in the back lines or working on train lines that didn't serve a purpose
I started the game a week ago on Charlie, if such a thing happened I don't think it really occurred or even benefited the Wardens. Even with vets, you got a lot of newer players who are just going with the flow of things, not really fully understanding the depths of what they are doing or what they can do. That imbalance creates natural holes similar to have true wars can have. There have been times where we make pushes, but instantly get cracked back on, which I think would be tackled easier if there was a true flood of experienced players all of a sudden. But then again, maybe I came AFTER things began to balance out. Based on what is going on right now, instead of flooding able, Charlie is about to be flooded, which will create an interesting situation.
I tried teaching my IRL friends to play foxhole in December 2023, we didnt do any frontline, just make like logi in the Fingers on Charlie. Getting them acclimated to doing logi and driving supplies to the front. Then as the war on Able started to turn, a noticable amount of warden vets logged into Charlie and started seal clubbing. The collies lost like 3 whole hexes in 24 hours. Everyone burned out and my friends swore the game off for life. Absolutely HATE seal clubbing, and sadly there are Foxhole content creators releasing seal clubbing montages on youtube and reddit to this very day. Sadly there is no moderation the devs will take on this, even a +5% increase in the player base is a win to them... instead of the potential +20-30% we see from the steam sales. It is what it is.
Dang :/ You hate to hear stuff like that. And that's really sad to hear! And yea I don't think there is really much we can do about this right now sadly. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
At this point collies are just delaying the inevitable, this is my third war and honestly it's been my favourite one, the mine fields were a lot of fun, but a pain in some cases.
Well no one likes to give up which is something I love about Foxhole :D We will fight until the very end! And yes those mines have been a lot of fun! Pretty proud that I've only stepped on one so far!
I will not. All the operations and stories people have sent me have been from Able. I don't think I've heard of a single thing that has happened in Charlie. The Able war 119 summary is already such a large project I don't think I could also do Charlie. Thanks for asking though!
I think any kind of server locking would cause issues, considering that the point of the second server is to take over traffic from the first one, but also it provides an alternative war for you to join. I do not think much can be done about this. At most you could put a "limit" on the amount of high-ranked for each faction, enforcing it similarly to pops.
True. And I agree I don't think much can be done as well. As I mentioned I don't think the devs would do anything like this but I did want to share what I think some possible solutions could be. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
a "boot" camp severs maybe? on a smaller map maybe with shorter war cycles. Then being "warned" on loading when you hit a number of hours you a forced out to a main sever? 🤷
@@Paios Some may want to be able to play the other side to try out new strategies and so on, that can only be done by one of the factions. Faction switching should only be not allowed for the same server.
I play Charlie to avoid Able Colonials of this very sort. If I discover we lose the war to any meaningful actions by Able Colonials playing as Wardens on Charlie trying to get us to play for them, I will play Warden on Able instead. Screw these jerks.
Yea this is certainly not the way to go about it. And this will probably happen even more if the Able war ends before the Charlie war ends which is looking very likely.
I at least understand that when the Able war ends both sides will get reinforced by people who want to keep fighting but have no war to participate in anymore otherwise. It's crummy in a sense that whichever server finishes first doesn't get to have their own start to finish contained war, but I don't see a way to avoid it outside of server lock. I am still in favor of that personally, although I am a little concerned it might lead to more alting eventually if people buy extra accounts just to keep playing in a war at all times. Still as you say in the vid Robert the devs have had a long time to make a change like that and haven't, so it seems unlikely at this point. I wish rather than making a medieval game they would have just released a sequel to this game with a better engine and networking backend that could handle a larger amount of players at once so we could just have one very big server. Ah well, maybe sometime in the future they will do something like that.
bro, vets just switching servers briefly to shitpost with warden equipment is what happened, trust me, there's genuinely no malice behind people doing that lol
This issue has been extremely frustrating. This is my first war and ive played since day 7, and as we speak able colonials are griefing structures and our navy again. They destroyed 4 boats and multiple structures a few days ago and now they are doing it again. Me and a lot of people refuse to play on able because of this and if they remove charlie server we just wont play the game anymore. Edit: i wanted to add that I speak for at least 40 people who have put in 200 hours into this war and also started on this war. This should have never happened, and it should never happen again.
Didn’t realize that was an ongoing issue, but then again I’ve only ever played on Able, makes sense now that I think about it, seemed odd during war 109 when about halfway through the war that Regis that had been in a hex I was constantly playing on just completely up and left their facility to decay, I just figured they moved hexes due to overcrowding and high msupp usage. Hopefully the devs server lock players to fix this issue, glad to hear you talking about it Robert. 👍
Yea hopefully we see less and less of this kind of server hopping. And thanks! Just trying to keep people informed on what's going on in the background :D
Switch back and forth until OCDT. Then you need to play on Able. Those with more than 500 hours are restricted from Charlie. When selecting a shard, it should have a brief explanation of what each of them are for (Able for us sweaty try-hards, Charlie for learning the game). Siege Camp should also have Ambassadors from Able on Charlie, vetted Community Members who are on Charlie to help train new players and teach them all the tricks and bugs/ features. Finally, a system that connects the same regis on Able and Charlie so that new players can be mentored on Charlie and then brought over to Able once they want to/ rank out.
Able player looking for Charlie opinion here: So, first off, I think this is appalling. I'm an Able Warden, and we just about have this war finished. I'm in a small clan, but we're all pretty experienced. If once we've won on Able we came over to Charlie as Colonials, not to counter seal club, but to lead, teach and offer guidance to new players facing an unfair situation, would that be helpful?
Sure, teaching and helping, great. Being a dick, less so. No one is going to be upset if you come over, help teach new players, give them tools. Now if your whole group comes over, techs up, grabs "some new people" and then goes and curbstomps with 95% og people and a couple newbies, that's not really the same.
Honestly, the best you could do is just choose a front you want, and fill in any way you'd like. You've got to realize that you have regis and squads that have been leading successful operations on Charlie from the start. They aren't "new." They don't need "guidance." They need people that are going to take advantage of the things these players who have been fighting all day every day on Charle since Day 1 have already worked hard to set up. We've got infrastructure. We've got logi. We've got good tankers, good infantry, and capable navies. We just need people who are going to work with them.
so i have been playing since war 86 and we have even been in the same reg Robert, and i can see were your coming from but we normally only have Charlie for a war or two around the updates and i normally use it to go over to the other side from which ever side my reg has selected ( warden currently) on Able so that i can test out the new equipment before the devs nerf something, and i have to say its refreshing to meet new player and help them learn / with a problem far to many time i have seen people on able who are well shall we say not willing to learn, sometimes people from my "main" reg join me. if that's "seal clubbing" then i apologise and i did not realise it was even a thing before this vid partly because you still get plenty of newer players on Able, and partly as i have seen plenty of organised reg's on Charlie, also seen some idiotic reg's on Able to be fair. i don't really see the suggestions you proposed working , a server lock could lead to huge player imbalances in the future and rank is next to meaningless, a new player can get a high rank quickly if they are boosted or just do front line logi ( i have met more than a few majors and above who have no idea about fighting) and a " Vet" frontline player could still be a captain or below as getting commenced for fighting is rare, and as for people going to Able after a bit, well they will anyway when pop gets to low and the devs close Charlie as they always do, the only suggestion i have would be to do away with Able and Charlie altogether and just have two Permeant new servers, neither one dedicated to new or old players and which have wars that start at different times (ie weeks apart) cos while i get being locked in to a faction for a war sometimes you just get fed up with it and want to try the other side and with wars lasting 30+ days it can lead you to just log off, and while i can see that leading to population issues as people log on to different servers as the tec they like gets unlocked well why not , not everyone like early / late game, some people like no tanks or ships and some love tanks or ships. the main problem is the devs saying that Charlie is a new player server just because they assume most vets want to stay on Able ( some don't mainly due to group politics) while not offering anything for new players, now they could make it a server with tutorials and adjusted spawn rates maybe a smaller map and lower damage that you can play on for say a war or less before your locked out and have to play on Able or maybe it reset's every week instead of locking you out then, then that would be new player friendly. while that doesn't address the high player rates on update wars maybe an expanded map only for updates would help, or even and i am spit balling here have different maps for the two servers and just have one be the other side of the world and even have them affect each other ( sailing supply's between worlds etc) or you could just open an identical server when numbers get a bit to high and call it a New player server... sorry for the long post, love the vids and keep them coming its interesting to see peoples opinions on this stuff
About your solutions: - Server lock after 1h - Agree... - Rank lock - like you shown - up to Ssgt can join Charlie (of course it leaves some space for alts, but we can't actually avoid this)... And if someone will get higher rank on Charlie, than it's fine coz he/she is already there. Also, if someone who would get, for example, WO2 during a war which ended, he/she can join Charlie for the next war ONLY if he/she played the last war on Charlie... If such person with rank over Ssgt will go to Able, it's a "not going back" to Charlie for him/her...
I started playing about a week ago and didn't realize I was on Charlie, and picked Warden cause I liked the color blue. And It was a great time learning how to do basic logi, but I'm still getting used to combat since aiming always felt off for me, so most of the time I play Medic. I hope to play on Able one day but I didn't join when I realized how to change servers because I thought it was too late into the war to join.
I actually think I have a decent idea for how to fix server swapping for this. In game lore there is the hanged men faction they have lower pops and less effective tech as well as are basically pirates. I think if you server swap before a war on the primary server you’ve played you can only joint that 3rd faction and they have lower priority to get into server than coli or warden. To reduce work on devs make the tech from both factions the default for them but you don’t get both you get them peace meal (generally the worse one so like colli navel warden tanks) this also fits into the lore since they’re a deserter faction. To make them stronger each faction can’t see where on the map they have bases they need to actually search for them to destroy them.
Been playing and started at Charlie, love the server and don’t mind the stalemate until the Colonials came. I kinda don’t want to join Able, and content with playing Charlie
That's great to hear! And unfortunately at some point Able will be the only server left for part of the year. But I respect your decision to only want to play on Charlie!
New foxhole player here. Been mostly playing on C server. I'm only a Lance Corporal and still learning. The few times I jumped on able I hated it. Getting stomped into the dirt by vet players, teammates getting annoyed that a "Charlie chud" joined "the real war". Generally the worst time I had on foxhole. Most vet players I meet also kept trying to recruit me into thire clan. Not for infantry, tanks or navy. They wanted noob players to stay out of the way and mine crap or build things that we never got to use. I didn't think it possible but able feels like everyone is trying out for Esports. Which sucks because I wanted to get involved in the "main war" but I never end up having fun. I don't think I'll ever leave Charlie. Charlie seems way more fun to me, people are nicer and the vibe is generally focused on having fun and not "win win win we have to win"
As a first-war warden on Charlie, i can attest that seal clubbing chased three of my friends away that were really starting to enjoy the game. Hoping i can get them back into foxhole when things change.
I wanna see charlie become a new map tied in with able so we get a true world war. Also charlie is where i run around as colonial lol (screwed that edit)
I like having a server for newer players. Me and a Colonial spent five minutes shooting at each other without landing a single shot. Peak gaming experience.
Same. What they should think about doing as well is making Charlie server smaller maybe. Like less hexes.
This is how it often goes for me too:
"There's gunfire coming from there I should shoot there"
"There hasn't been any gunfire from there in a while. Did I get him? Lets focus on other areas"
"Take cover! Take cover!"
This can go on for a while because I proceed to do the same thing. A few times I "played dead" to let a tank come close enough for me to throw a grenade. Only one time worked properly though because other times their infantry support cleared me out. Still, fun times.
Epic foxhole sniper duel :o
Pretty sure that game que is happening for both factions. I’m a warden and get it every day
@@Lem0nsquid No 100% you're right, I just have a theory that new players tend to go Colonial more bc it's more familiar looking etc, which is why I mentioned about newer players not knowing about it.
This is exactly what happened to me! I had myself in Charlie and didn’t even realize Able existed.
@@SockeySoka yea I definitely agree on the familiarity. I started out as a collie years back but the uniqueness of the wardens eventually lead me to the faction and have remained since
I really don't see the point in separate shards, simply add more hexes to the map. Simple.
I’m a 74th member on Charlie wardens and we had a group of able vets steal our frigate because our facility squad, forget to reserve it like they were supposed to. They used it effectively and killed a shit ton of stuff, but they didn’t ask and that’s why it pissed us all off.
It also died killing like 2 DD 2 Long hook and 1 sub in red river
Dude it doesn't really matter how well it was used them stealing it was a prick move and I can tell you they give zero shits about stealing it and would do it again. But they would fucking rage if they forgot to refresh their own squadlock and someone stole their ship.
I had someone on my side part of the 74th team. Who team kills them abuses the report button to get his own team band. Y'all need more control over your faction.
@@DaRealHashBrownwho?
@DaRealHashBrown I'm very curious as to who in the 74th did this as well. To my knowledge the only people we've mass reported have been those who griefed/alted us first, with screenshots and log data as proof.
If this is some other case I'd love to know about it.
"Omg it's Rob ! Love your videos !!" - Most heard quote in Foxhole

Servers.
Charlie doesn't matter.

There are a million frigates on Charlie. Check any Seaport. Maybe I'm too new to understand why it is such a big deal.
@@SunMiSongEve oh, I heard it was the WS Regiment's Frigate.
They suck, they went to Bewailing twice and we fend them off
I just wanted to say as a brand new player who joined about 2 weeks ago and is playing in my first war, I accidentally joined Charlie instead of Able (I didn't even know there were multiple servers when I got the game).
Welcome to foxhole!
Charlie is such a shit show full of people using RPGs on infantry like it costs nothing.
lol! Sometimes you gotta fire the desperate RPG if you think you are doing to die anyways :D
we need to have a running gag of what to say to Robert other than just "I love your videos"
lol I would love that! Alright folks come up with some inside joke you can all start saying to me when you see me :D like "can't wait for you to eat a shoe next year!"
Love that someone listen to normal players and trying to do something with it.
I always love hearing feedback from the player base and getting a pulse on what is actually happening within the game. As I mentioned in the video I don't like to sugar coat anything and will talk about how I really feel about these situations.
nothing like a 10 page essay about how casual he is about a video game.
It was actually only 6 pages :D
Best of luck to you! Keep sinking the warden navy!
@ Thank you! Currently giving them hell with the rest of the Charlie boys
I hope you keep producing Foxhole content till the end of the game
literally in the exact same position as you bruh
Same
In a regiment you get a way better shot st coordination.
I don’t agree that vet players are overwhelmed to new players
It’s that people who turn into assholes as they become vets then start being overbearing and controlling to anyone they deem beneath themselves and force their opinions as fact down newer players’s throats causing unnecessary stress for both parties
@Robertlovesgames Why do you switch to charlie as a vet???
lol! I love my Able peeps to much :D
@RobertLovesGames Mate claiming I am able is adding to the divide, you are part of the problem you are explaining.
@@MrBLACKROSE200 or you know, let people have fun and learn at their own pace on the server that is designated for newer players?
5:17 these are exactly the kind of people that need to get a life thanks for pointing out the bad players in foxhole robert.
I love Charlie server. I'm always a bit bummed there's so little content out there that even addresses it.
This is my first war, and I've been fighting on Charlie every day. I can't imagine leaving now, when we've invested so much. Charlie for life.

I have never heard somebody talked down to cause there first war was on charlie.
I hate to say this but you would be surprised how some players feel towards one another about who plays on Able and who plays on Charlie. I would not say it's common by any means but players have told me about situations like this. I'm trying to break down that barrier and division, though it may be a long process.
@@RobertLovesGames the only way those barriers will break down is if able players change their behavior.
I feel like the Air Update will introduce larger maps and larger servers, maybe a final merge between able and charlie.
I really really hope for a larger map! And if it's large enough that we don't see any extra shards that would be amazing!
as someone who did their first two wars on Charlie, just play Able imho I wish I would of just waited 5 minutes for Able Q.
killing Charlie won't really help but that's how it goes, Charlie dies quickly anyhow.
in my opinion Charlie is good for those who don't wanna join a big clan and play 2-3 hours with a close group.
edit: going from Able to Charlie to stomp is b*'*' boy behaviour and server locks should be a thing for Able, if you go from Charlie to Able that's fine but eventually you will be locked to Able.
I do not believe that colonial able vets going to charlie wardens to end the war is such a good idea. First all the time they spend on charlie is time we have less vets in able. And second if charlie war end there will be more players on both sides on able. Not only the colonial one.
Agreed. It really makes no sense in the long run. And yep this probably going to happen once Able war ends.
Nice! Welcome to Foxhole! And that sucks to hear :/
Couldnt imagine switching teams and servers just because we were losing. Wardens 4 life!!!!
Love to hear it!! Praise Callahan!!
By Callan we're taking Feirmor no matter no matter how many times we have to rebuild the same bridge!
It is my first war in foxhole and i am playing on charlie, personaly i did not have any issues. There are so many greate peaple in this community
Glad to hear that! Thanks for sharing your experience with this!
Can one field guns do much damage against an enemies base?
Depends on which field gun it's. Generally though you want to use field guns against infantry or tanks.
@@RobertLovesGames okay
im pretty new but I went straight into able because I joined a regiment immediately genuinely some of the nicest and most helpful people Ive met it kills me seeing players driven away by a few bad actors in the community salty about being in a tough spot on able who decided to massacre the poor newbies trying to get good enough to be use to their team
Now I understand why pushing Endless Shore so quickly.
Are there any large scale logistic operation squads on Charlie, Wardens?
Not that I'm aware of. But there are a ton on the Able side. DM me on discord if you need help finding a group :D
I don't know why they don't simply add more hexes to the map.
Very fitting that the first side to start invading the newbie server was the blue army
As I mentioned in the video both factions do it and they do it for specific reasons it seems. Can't really blame one side over the other.
as much as the situation sucks, i find it rather interesting as its in some ways analogous to a proxy war. colonials and wardens joining the opposite faction on charlie shard in order to end/continue its war to try to gain/negate an advantage in the main conflict reads a lot like that.
But the community has had this outlook since before nov 12th.
I'm glad you mentioned this, its been crazy the past couple days. Its my first war, and seeing Able brush off our colonial efforts on our Charlie server as vets carrying us instead of being legit has been disheartening. I wish my Charlie breathern the best of luck!
If only new players would listen to vets 😂
lol!
So yeah, not all vets are really helpfull...
how do you get the over head camera shots@4:50???
That is from the devs! They post videos like this on their twitter sometimes and I use them in my videos because they looks so cool! Wish I had the dev camera!
Charlie is an overflow server for new players during update wars. This whole rivalry started when they named the server something and now its causing people to quit. I started my foxhole journey as a warden on charlie and I hate what is going on. Although my first battle was a high rank gathering a bunch of low ranks to join him while teaching a few of us things.

True! I did this last night in reavers pass and was up until 3:00am ha. And yes ignore that que warning every time ha
Apparently there were two huge able regiments involved in endless offensive, so it was mostly seal clubbing yeah
Sadly we were 5 players in Loch Mor for hours yesterday when it's a frontline hex. But I look at steam report and we had 2.5k players connected.
Oof! You hate to see that! Was this on Able? Could be because the hex is almost taken?
You would need to summon the king of unemployment for such a task
lol.. Storm regi on Charlie has been holding back 7+ colonial regis since they have moved from able.
Nicely done! Keep up the good fight! You might see even more here soon if Able ends soon!
they're just 5 meters away from tapping cinderwick, trust them
what region? Ive admired the heck out of the Warden players. And this war has been great imho. (Its my first... so I really dont know what a good war is I guess)
which regis?
But ending a war does it not go bboth wayys? yes they free up troops but same with the warden side?
Robert what do you think about a server that is locked behind a rank to join it, such as WO1 and lower may join, anything higher you can not join?
So will you be doing a war recap for Charlie server once the war ends like with Able. Since this one looks like it will actually be interesting.
I will not. All the operations and stories people have sent me have been from Able. I don't think I've heard of a single thing that has happened in Charlie. The Able war 119 summary is already such a large project I don't think I could also do Charlie. Thanks for asking though!
Im a charlie new player this is my first war but I find the game fun and thank you for getting me interested in the game.
Nice! Welcome to Foxhole! No problem glad you are enjoying it :D
War...War never changes.... This is why I Scroop.
Same lol! It's so peaceful in the backline :D
So why leave the option to switch factions?
a "boot" camp severs maybe? on a smaller map maybe with shorter war cycles.
They were fucking around in a frigate on charlie lol It's not a conspiracy
PLEASE MORE CHARLIE CONTENT! Not enough people telling our story! This war has been great! Learning this is happening though, terrible.
Charlie has been fun this war
Glad to hear that! And glad to see it's still going on! Keep up the good fight!
It only took like a week of logi to hit ocdt tho, like... basically zero effort.
Able player looking for Charlie opinion here:
So, first off, I think this is appalling. I'm an Able Warden, and we just about have this war finished. I'm in a small clan, but we're all pretty experienced. If once we've won on Able we came over to Charlie as Colonials, not to counter seal club, but to lead, teach and offer guidance to new players facing an unfair situation, would that be helpful?
just stay in able, we don't want able players on charlie
I think that would be really helpful! Sounds like a great plan honestly!
we need skill capping so if people want to club, they have to use a different account. IT wont stop it, but it helps slow it down
True! That would be at least something!
so i have been playing since war 86 and we have even been in the same reg Robert, and i can see were your coming from but we normally only have Charlie for a war or two around the updates and i normally use it to go over to the other side from which ever side my reg has selected ( warden currently) on Able so that i can test out the new equipment before the devs nerf something, and i have to say its refreshing to meet new player and help them learn / with a problem far to many time i have seen people on able who are well shall we say not willing to learn, sometimes people from my "main" reg join me.
if that's "seal clubbing" then i apologise and i did not realise it was even a thing before this vid partly because you still get plenty of newer players on Able, and partly as i have seen plenty of organised reg's on Charlie, also seen some idiotic reg's on Able to be fair.
i don't really see the suggestions you proposed working , a server lock could lead to huge player imbalances in the future and rank is next to meaningless, a new player can get a high rank quickly if they are boosted or just do front line logi ( i have met more than a few majors and above who have no idea about fighting) and a " Vet" frontline player could still be a captain or below as getting commenced for fighting is rare, and as for people going to Able after a bit, well they will anyway when pop gets to low and the devs close Charlie as they always do,
the only suggestion i have would be to do away with Able and Charlie altogether and just have two Permeant new servers, neither one dedicated to new or old players and which have wars that start at different times (ie weeks apart) cos while i get being locked in to a faction for a war sometimes you just get fed up with it and want to try the other side and with wars lasting 30+ days it can lead you to just log off, and while i can see that leading to population issues as people log on to different servers as the tec they like gets unlocked well why not , not everyone like early / late game, some people like no tanks or ships and some love tanks or ships.
the main problem is the devs saying that Charlie is a new player server just because they assume most vets want to stay on Able ( some don't mainly due to group politics) while not offering anything for new players, now they could make it a server with tutorials and adjusted spawn rates maybe a smaller map and lower damage that you can play on for say a war or less before your locked out and have to play on Able or maybe it reset's every week instead of locking you out then, then that would be new player friendly.
while that doesn't address the high player rates on update wars maybe an expanded map only for updates would help, or even and i am spit balling here have different maps for the two servers and just have one be the other side of the world and even have them affect each other ( sailing supply's between worlds etc) or you could just open an identical server when numbers get a bit to high and call it a New player server...
sorry for the long post, love the vids and keep them coming its interesting to see peoples opinions on this stuff
About your solutions:
- Server lock after 1h - Agree...
I am a new player and have been playing on able (most to use foxholestats) but this makes me curious to see how my experience may differ on charlie.
That would be cool! If it was a new map everyone would want to play there at first though as well ha.
It would but it would spread things out a bit.... update wars are a microcosm of nonsense cause all the idiots come out of the woodwork.
