Great explanation, I watched this series before my first game and managed to secure a victory against 3 tough opponents. I'm watching it again before my second game to help me clarify things I may have missed on the first game. Excellent quality of information and excellent delivery.

This is a fantastic tutorial, one of the best I've seen for any sort of game. Thanks for making this, I think everybody really appreciates it.

Excellent series, about to sit down for my first in-person Oath game (played one on TTS) and this was super helpful. Subscribed!

At 27:11, the illustration shows 2 dice added for the Skeleton Key, but the relic card shows 3 dice.

I always do errors: I want attack only relic (2 blue die) and my enemy pawn is in my territory. Do i add warbands (3 warbands for example) on his playmat? Normally in this situation i roll 2 blue die and add 3. is it correct?

I love these in-depth videos. I can really learn the rules well. Excited about high frontier 4. Played 3 games and I always need to refresh myself by skimming the rules for 20 mins lol. Hope you can do all the modules. Absolutely killer my dude

Bonsoirs, est-ce que les règles des deux nouvelles factions de Root vont arriver bientôt?

Hello Jean, thanks a lot for your great video(s), I really wish that every game I own has the same playlist with the same quality of teach and production like yours.
I have only one question: is there a limitation to the number of the dice used to include into a campaign? e.g: if I calculated that I need 10x Defence Dice and we have less physical number of them that comes with the game. does this mean that we need to limit our self to the available dice or we just save the first roll result and then reroll and add to what we got?
The same question is for the limited red attack dice (10 only)...

There's not limit. Just remember the results and reroll as many as needed.

Can the attacker decide roll less attack dice than warbands he has on his mat? (I’m red and I want to attack with 6 dice even though I own 8 warbands)

Yes! And if you lose the battle, you will only lose 3 warbands instead of 4. Note that you will only be able to sacrifice from your 6 committed warbands after the dice roll though to get extra hits (it could be less even if you rolled skulls).

What s happen if the defender only roll x2 dice ? Does someone have an idea ? I don’t find the answer in the rules
    Tks a lot

Well i assume that in this case you rolled 0 shields so you multiply by 0.

    • @WideMouth

The x2 face multiplies the number of shields rolled. So if you roll zero shields and a x2, then you get zero shields from the dice. The x2 does not multiply the shields from your defending warbands.

Very pedagogical video, as usual. I wish it had a bit more thematic interpretations sprinkled throughout, though, as they help remembering the rules and enjoying the game (for example, the fact that troops from the attacker in sites they rule do not participate can be interpreted as these troops being garrisoned there and staying there because they need to be ready to defend their territory).

Frankly, the design of Oath is TOO abstract to even consider realistic and logical situations.. Oath is not Nevsky!
How can a Player Campaign against sites from all over the place without moving towards the last one and spending no supply? Cole isn't the type of designed to consider or care about these sort of things....

@@Big_DaiOne can imagine that Exiles plan simultaneous local, armed rebellions, and that the Empire has troops stationed and patrolling everywhere (arguably the "real" world of boardgames is more complex than what we see on the board).
