    Great video! I would like to recommend to everyone making a sit/stand desk setup to run all the power strips on the underside of the desktop itself. This allows you to only have one cable and all the cables you have will be fixed to the position they’re in since the power strip isn’t on the frame leg. Helps a lot with cable management and you’ll only have one cable coming from the desk to the outlet to gauge distance on.

    Hey Matt, this is a great video, thank you. You’re the only reviewer I’ve seen go into the right level of detail on assembly and wires. Having worked at a standing desk in the past I know the wire management is often the trickiest part. I’m curious why you decided to go with the power strip on the leg instead of the one fully sells that clamps to the desk. Also, I’m still not clear what role the “wire helper” sleeves play in cable management. Thanks!

    • @mattmantyla
      @mattmantyla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Beth, thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Honestly, I put the power strip on the leg of my desk because it was the only one I had at the time. A bit of poor planning on my part to be honest. The wire tamer tray is there to keep all your wires from hanging down behind your desk. They’re meant to just give you a cleaner and more organized look. If I had to do it again I’d get two wire tamer trays and two smaller power strips to store inside the wire tamer trays.

    Nice review! I also had the Fully Jarvis in consideration when deciding which standing desk to buy a few months ago but ultimately went with a Steelcase desk (Migration SE 180x80cm) as it was only 150 EUR more expensive than the Jarvis in my country and I already knew the excellent built quality of Steelcase desks through my employer. Was not disappointed: This thing is sturdy af and there is almost no wobble (only if I try unnaturally hard). So in the end it was totally worth it for me and I can only encourage anybody who works from home to invest in a standing desk.

    That's funny! I commented a year ago with my manual s/s desk but now I'm using a 72x30" Fully Jarvis dark bamboo desk with 3 staged legs and programmable handset. I've had mine for about a month now and it's the best desk that I have ever purchased. If you have a moment you should check out BTOD's New Heights XT4 and the Deskhaus Apex Pro Max. Both are 4 legged desks with a cross support.

    Great video. I'm looking at getting one of these desks, and this is the only review I've seen on putting the desk together. Much appreciated!
    One question I have is how wobbly the desk is at it's highest setting. I'm 6'2" and have seen some other videos that show only a slight wobble, but am curious as to how bad you think it is.
    Also, what do you think of the thickness of the bamboo desktop?
    Great job!

    • @mattmantyla
      @mattmantyla  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Thanks for the kind words! The wobble is present at standing height if you shake the desk but it's not something I notice with normal use. The thickness of the bamboo top is about 3/4 of an inch which I think feels pretty solid. It has been really nice to work on.

    Nice review, planning to buy this but still hesitant. Correct me if im wrong that table top is the 2cm thick one right? I’m leaning more towards the 3cm one but the price difference is huge. Hey, Gabriel! Thanks for watching. I believe I have the 2cm version and I think the bamboo top would hold a monitor arm. It would seem like a huge miss to me if Fully shipped desks that couldn’t support such a common desk fixture.

    Is this a paid promotion? You did not mention anything about the stability although I did notice a bit of a wobble when you were putting what I assume was a heavy custom lamp to cover the grommet.

    • @mattmantyla
      @mattmantyla  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey ProViewOppinion! No this is not a paid promotion. I paid full price for the desk and have not been compensated by Fully. To me the stability of the desk is fine at standing height. There can definitely be some wobble with normal use but it’s not something I personally notice or am bothered by. That lamp probably weighs about 25 lbs for reference.

    Hi Matt, i want to send this desk to my daughter who's 5'3" and i've read this is the best one for shorter people. I am have read some of the reviews re wobbling and that's my only concern. If it does wobble, do you know how to combat that issue? I know you can buy pads to put underneath furniture (i've done in my own house) so do you think that would fix any wobble issues? Also, when i read the return policy it read "you cannot return "Open-box Items". Well that seems ridiculous since you wouldn't know that you'd want to return it unless you fully put it together right? do you happen to know if my daughter can return it after she's opened the boxes? I am going to ask Fully but wanted to know your thoughts too. Thanks! and love the video since it really told me exactly what i should and shouldn't add on for her, and exactly what'd she'd need to assemble.

    I have a home recording studio DAW. I have a 27” IMac and another 27” monitor. I’m looking for a desk that doubles as a recording studio desk and an office desk for my other business. Do you think this is a good fit for me? If not do you or anyone else have any other ideas? Don’t remember if you mentioned the size of your desk. I want something about 55x28 or 60x30.

    • @mattmantyla
      @mattmantyla  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey James, I think you could fit your setup on this desk. I have the 60x30 model and the monitor I use is 27 inches for reference. If I had more room I probably would have gone with a wider model, but I think it will serve your purposes. If you can, I would also recommend taping off the space on the floor to give you a better idea of what the size of the desk will look like in your room.

      @@Mathis-zk7uq yes indeed! I went with the 160x80cm model. I gotta say, if I had the room I would have purchased an even bigger size. There have been a few times where some extra space would be nice. If you get a big enough table top it can become a nice standing work bench in some situations!

    • @mattmantyla

      Hey, Matthew! It is definitely noticeable but I’ve never had an issue with it. Some people might be more sensitive to wobble than me, but I really don’t see it as a problem. It’s solid enough for my taste.

    • @mattmantyla
      @mattmantyla  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Sphiin! I suppose it depends on how high / low you want the desk to go. I wanted maximum flexibility so I went with extended range. I used a tape measure before ordering to make sure it would adjust to the heights I wanted.

    What about those hanging cables? i don't want that.

    • @mattmantyla
      @mattmantyla  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Sean! I made a mistake by not getting two wire tamer trays. If you don't want to see any cables at all behind the desk then I would recommend getting two wire tamer trays and two small power strips to go inside of them. You could connect the power strips and easily run one power cable from the wire tamer trays down the leg of the desk and not see any cables at all.

      @@mattmantyla I don't plan on doing it anytime soon. It's a hefty price for the desk in general. I also plan on somehow doing a custom wooden desk from home depot, where around the sides I can put rgbics, and diffuse them somehow, and probably vinyl wrap the desk, and create and invisible charger for it. So its gonna be a min.
