And some unexplored place. We aren't target audience most of the time, we don't share some experiences and have different fears. We also not a monolith. But we all capable of listening to someone else story and feel for them. Be it a witch, a cowboy, a parent or mafioso sitting by himself pondering upon the ruins of his family. Character stories either work or they don't. No need to put barriers where there are none.
Also, how fitting that the last episode was very true to its title! It showed Agatha in her three phases: Maiden (a young witch, pregnant, had her past with Rio etc), Mother (being a mom to Nicky during his childhood) and Crone (as a ghost in her old lady form) ♡

The EP 9 revelation of the song makes the episode of Alice so much more powerful because the Ballad is actually a song created by a mother and her son, and it was their thing, so Lorna takes that song to make a protection spell for her own child. Child that she was desperate to protect, the parallels with Lorna and Agatha, my god...

Yeah, at first I laughed hard at how she just slices the set's backdrop painting and walks through. It looked like a stage production in the middle of a tv show.. But that just eludes to the later realization that the whole witches road was fake from the beginning.

Yes it was great! Last 2 episodes were very engaging and emotional I cried tbh 😂 and I can't believe we got comic accurate ghost Agatha too with white hair! Wow
If you pay attention to the music that Agatha and Nicky sing together in episode nine… it starts out very sweet and major sounding… But by the end, it has turned into the minor song with the dark tonality that Agatha now remembers her dead son by.

YES!!! Thank you for mentioning this. I felt that was one of the most creative parts of the episode. Just hearing how the song develops over time between them and then hearing how the structure changed as Agatha co-opted it for her villainous ways. And then seeing the coven sing it with all that gusto from episode one… It was pure brilliance.
I’m kind of surprised a lot of people are not liking this ending. I liked the show from beginning to end but the last 3 episodes hit even harder for me. - I loved that they committed to our characters actually dying. Alice’s scene realizing that she was dying was hard hitting, and Rio’s response was honest but cold 💀. - Loved them committing to Agatha being a villain, even down to the last minute. Makes her so different from several MCU characters and it’s nice she gets to occupy a space where she can allow Billy to explore the dark side that his mother also has. - The flashbacks with Agatha were heartbreaking, but loved that they humanized her without making her a good person. She made her son an accomplice to murder 😂. And love the Witches Road being a lie she made up, even more so loved the fact that she and Nick made up the ballad together. - Loved Billy’s costume and power reveal! And the reality warping twist was FANTASTIC! Like mother, like son. I think this coupled with Billy being somewhat implicated in the deaths of his coven members due to his lack of knowledge/control of his powers will be the bridge to help him one day connect to Wanda. He can now fully relate to lack of magical control and the collateral damage it can cause. - Love ghost mentor Agatha! What a great way to keep Kathryn Hahn here while paying homage to the comics! - Final tidbits: Loved Rio here, can’t wait for her to pop back up. Really hope Jennifer Kale comes back! Ending “let’s go find Tommy” was sick! Sorry this was long and rambling 😂🤘🏼
Hmm I think fans were expecting Wanda haha but for me, I loved it. Everything made sense! That is why Agatha had that hunch that it was Billy, cos only someone so powerful like Wanda could manifest a dimension out of magic.
I feel like that’s the thing for a lot of people as well. And I’m the biggest Wanda stan and would’ve LOVED that! But the showrunner has been very clear not to expect big cameos in the finale so I made peace with it 🤷🏻♂️😂 this show honestly did more to make me feel good about Wanda coming back in general with all of Agatha’s teasing and that’s enough for me rn.
I’m a Wanda stand but never expected her to make an appearance. I was honestly just really bummed out by the witches road being created by Billy (although genius, esp with Billy starting all the trials) instead of it already existing. I am completely okay with the witches staying dead cuz otherwise them being resurrected would take away from the emotional weight. However, I do not like the idea that they died kinda for nothing. I like how tragic it is and that Billy has to live with that now, but idk. Lilia dying to a fabricated trial after the brilliance of episode 7- just having her entire life come to a head with a meaningful and intentional sacrifice rings a bit hollow after it learning it was Billy’s doing all along. Alice also. I think what would have helped soften the blow was having Alice reunite with her mom in the afterlife or something. I also just did not like the pacing of episode 8. I did not want a traditional superhero fight scene with iffy cgi. Billy’s costume reveal is cool but nonsensical imo with him entering with it already on. It definitely didn’t match Wanda’s Scarlet Witch transformation in Wandavision. Episode 9 was really nice tho. Idk how to feel about Billy doing a 180 quickly right after trying to banish Ghost Agatha but okay I guess. I feel like the series could have benefited from fleshing out Agatha and Rio more. I think Agatha just being a psychopath power hungry witch killer fits in her character as well as her relationship with her son. I just wish we got more context leading up to or before Agatha gave birth to Nicholas. This is where the Salem Seven could have been inserted more into the story, I feel, to expand on Agatha even more.

Alice broke the family curse, reconnected with her mother, and got to protect someone with her magic. Lilia reconnected with her magic by realizing that she needed friends to care for rather than stay alone, so she gave her life for them, a life that was already far too long and close to the end. Jen learned who had bound her and became unbound. Agatha found a surrogate son and resolved her relationship with Rio, with the ending implying that she will go on some kind of redemption tour so that she can reunite with her actual son without shame in the afterlife. Billy gained acceptance of whom he really is, learned what really happened to Tommy, helped resurrect Tommy, and will soon reunite with him. The only character who died pointlessly was Sharon Davis, but the pointlessness of her death was already part of the story.
So thrilled to hear the show won you over. As a Wiccan fan for over a decade i could not be more thrilled to actually have him in the MCU and have Agatha as his mentor. I need the followup series announced asap.
It didn’t end the way I expected, and that was a really really good and positive thing. What an amazing show, it started strong and somehow managed to get better and better with each subsequent episode. I fully expect for it to be nominated for multiple Emmys like WandaVision was. It’s one of the best things Marvel has done.
Coy, this is the first time I'm watching your videos and the way you didn't censor your thoughts but still were respectful to people who liked it, and when you changed your mind you were clear about the reasons, they all make me trust your reviews more. I loved this show, I'm quite literally the demographic for thus show (😂) but never once was i made to feel like I'm dumb for liking it even when you didnt like it. I guess my point is, I'm gonna look you up if i have any doubts about the movies/series i want to watch coz i know you're gonna be fair, now! :)
Such a fun show, man. All characters and stories are so intriguing and interesting. Billy's got one of the most complex and interesting origin stories and I feel like the show and Joe managed to bring it all to life really well. Agatha in ep 9 broke my heart. Such a mix of emotions there. A villain through and through, but still good (in her own way)
in this context, Billy really is Wanda's son. he conjured up The Road without even knowing it. just like how Wanda conveniently forgot she made Westview and everyone in it how she thought a perfect community/family should be.
I loved the show from the start, but it's like John Campea said, episode 7 bumped up the quality of every episode we see through Lillia's eyes, but this one turned the Ballad from something that pumps me up every time I hear it, to something so tragically sad, it's not just Nicky's memory being used as bait for murder, but everyone we lost along the way.
So many connections to Nicky. Why she called it "her purple". Why she always seemed to be centered by her broach whenever the costumes changed. The way Agatha was SURE it was "Coven of two". God this show.
I'm ready to hear. I enjoyed the ending, a few things i would have added to make it perfect but overall was a great ending. Agatha up there as one of the best marvel tv shows with wandavision
The show was so well written, the way even what seemed like throw away lines like in the beginning Agatha insisting it was “coven of two” came full circle in that finale.
All the deaths were on Billy's tarot card. The cup of poison, the satanic disc which represented the record spinning backwards, the sword and the table, and the flowers represent Agatha's death
As soon as I watched it my immediate thought was "They stuck the landing!" The last episode made me cry. All I could think was "She's just a mama, missing her baby boy". Doesn't forgive her actions, but now I understand.
@@ashleehughes1194 Yeah. And her self defense when she let herself be accused of his death let her feel anger rather than really dealing with her grief as a mom whose child died. And killing others continued to emotionally create drama over her deeper wound.
I absolutely loved this!! That young actor that portrayed Nicholas, what a little sweetheart....great job! Agatha couldn't face her own son, heartbreaking. Joe Locke, what a talent. Coy, do you think they'll be a Season 2, The Hunt for Tommy? I hope so....we still have Agatha, even tho she's a ghost lol talk about unfinished business.
I really hope we get to see Billy and Tommy's journey in some way. I can't stop thinking about how Billy ended up in the body of someone who's so loved and cared for, but Tommy's ended up with the exact opposite.
This was and EXCEPTIONAL show! Maybe the best Marvel Disney Plus show. It used the medium of TV well (didn't feel like an extended movie cut up into 40 min. episodes). It had fantastic plotting, great characters, earned twists and a satisfying ending. And it didn't cost 250 million dollars! Maybe Marvel has learned their lesson....

I am a 67 year old Scotsman, one of six children who every month would get every comic from my Uncle who worked in a book shop and we would read and re read them all. . I have read the American Marvel and DC comics since I was about 6 and still read them now every week so what you talk about I am familiar with and it's great to see someone else with the same passion.
I am so happy you did a 180. I appreciate your sticking through and being able to recognize the amazingness that was this show, makes me remember why I followed you in the first place. I was kind a on the same page as Coy. Not much interested for the first four episode. Thern came the fifth, which got me exited, a bit of let down on the sixth. But after the seventh I was all in and went back to rewatch all the first 6 eèisode and there I realised how much was hiden in plain sight. This is the sort of show that may not start strong, but if you stick to the end it is highly rewarding.
I look forward to re-watching this show because it's completely recontexetualized, and I want to see how I enjoy it, knowing all the pieces of the puzzle as I watch. I like how it was contained, but elements (Wiccan) could still play a part in the whole of the MCU. As always, I enjoyed your takes. 😊
I feel like of all the phases of grief that Marvel has been hitting on, this one seemed to lean heavy towards bargaining and acceptance. I loved it, the revelation of the origin of the Witches Road song, her hatred of Death...the emotional wrap up to comic accurate Agatha--freakin chef's kiss all day. Definitely want more Marvel like this
jen being another chess piece in the big world of mcu has me so excited for the future. billy and agatha too. i don’t think i’m as excited and optimistic for the following mcu projects these characters will appear in.
Wasn’t really that into the series but these last 3 episodes changed my mind. Enjoyed it and look forward if they continue this story. Still miss Wanda

I gotta give it to you man, good on you for sticking by your initial feelings and opinions towards the early episodes of the show, despite the witch hunt (pun absolutely intended) that some fans lead against you on the RR page. You didn't let it stop you from continuing to give the show a chance, which takes a lot of reserve and will. I loved and respected this show in a very similar way to yourself, having a somewhat difficult time early on (mainly episodes one/two for me) but very quickly finding it to be one of my favorite MCU shows thus far. As the show progressed I found myself doing more and more theory crafting, looking forward to each week with increasing fervor. It was a joy watching you and the boys on RR react to AAA, and an even greater joy seeing you find your love for it. Never change man. Excited to catch the next series' with y'all!
He has a professional critics to be frank. He acknowledges that he couldn't resonate or realate the show *from his point of view* in the beginning. While also doesn't let himself becoming like these rage bait/reactionary youtuber with this algorhm stuff. And he critics the show the way it is, especially when the later episodes, he acknowledges great aspect of this show and reflecting back of the entire series. I'm all for people having opposite opionion about a show,films,books and Coy does give great reasoning of what/why/how it works or doesn't work for him. I hope we will see more youtuber like Coy.
I'm so glad you ended up enjoying this show. I didn't realize this is what I have been missing from the MCU. Honestly, when it got too comicy was when I was taken out a bit. But all the stuff with Lilia and seeing Agatha in the past in Nicky...it was all so beautiful. I'm also SO excited to watch it again knowing what we know now about the road.
Let’s clarify a few things the witches Road song was created by Agatha and her son apparently Agatha was avoiding dying by constantly cheating death when she was absorbing all of the witches powers it was prolonging her life so death always was looking and coming after her she continued to always cheat death which is why she told her son she was killing them to survive without her absorbing, witches powers she would’ve been died. that’s throwing off the natural balance it’s already one thing that apparently witches live very long lives to begin with they still haven’t explained how she got a hold of the book of the Damned tho. I knew from the very beginning that teen, Billy whatever name you want to use was the source of the witches Road what I didn’t figure out is that it was a manifestation of his powers Agatha, knowing the song was a trap for witches new instantly who he was the moment she saw the door appear he created the road and the obstacles in it subconsciously so the rules were real as well. Agatha said he couldn’t read her mind. She didn’t say she couldn’t hear his thoughts. She knew when he would try to read her mind. She kissed death, which is the kiss of death. By finally embracing what she’s been avoiding for centuries. Agatha, Billy and Tommy all was supposed to be dead. But now Billy and Tommy are living and dead peoples bodies, which is why Agatha said so what he broke the rules for shadowing her cheating death just like when Doctor Strange was sleepwalking inside his variant dead corpse

I have to agree that the show didnt grab me until the last two episodes. I dont know if I would ever go back to it but I am floored how much people loved it. I was really shocked but I saw how much people were doggin on it before it came out. I feel real protective of the MCU and it’s nice to hear people talk about how much they love MCU projects again. I have loved phase 4 and 5 but i know for some they haven’t been feeling it. Glad to see the MCU getting so much love again.
The show had me in the first 2 episodes, it kind of lost me the next few but then the last 3 just tied it all together to where there is a new appreciation for those episodes that initially felt lost. Marvel delivered on this one, Kathrine delivered, and in such a way I have to go back and re-watch it with that new lens.
This may be the best MCU show to me. I need to rewatch asap. I loved that it makes sure to show that witches are not superheroes they are their own thing operating with their own rules. WV is good to me but the finale was a bit of a let down, yet AAA only got better as it went along. I hope Jac is already working on a follow up whatever it may be called. Though it seems Paul Bettany said Agatha was the second of the trilogy and his show is the finale so perhaps Wiccan and Agatha will be in that at some point?…
Agatha against all odds. a couple of months ago most people (myself included) couldn't care less for this show, I really love how everyone is enjoying it right now. this is what the MCU is supose to be
There’s something hilarious about the fact that the comics aged Agatha down to look like her MCU character, and then at the end of the show the MCU character is aged up to look comic-accurate.
From the beginning I thought the show was well written, but from episode 7 on it was mind-blowing! So well done! I was enjoying the Road trials and all, it was fun, but Lillia's episode was something else! Episodes 8 and 9 were interesting too. But very sentimental, so maybe some people won't like them because of that. But I really liked them, and I like when Agatha has those flashback on the Road showing that from the beginning of course she knew the boy was making real the legend she created with the song... "if you weren't her son none of this would be so dramatic!" was a pearl! 😄👍🏻 So, yeah, this series was a delight!
I really enjoyed this show! I wasn’t excited for it in the beginning but I really enjoyed it overall. Billy is by far one of my favorite new MCU characters.

Ive always always loved geeky media, Marvel included, but Ive always stayed away from the fans because of how toxic they can be to people who are different, so seeing someone say "its not for me , but I can still appreciate it" was so refreshing. This show definitely hit the landing that a lot of the other Marvel shows have lacked. The confrontation between Death, Agatha and Wiccan was such a memorable scene too. That final flashback episode too was so bittersweet. It seemed like Agatha was going to stop hunting witches only for her son to die, causing her to go back to her old life as a solitude witch killer. As for the show in general, Patti as Lilia was the highlight of the entire season for me and I hope she gets a well deserved Emmy nomination (or win, fingers crossed). I also loved seeing Billy be proudly queer and Agatha/Rio kiss, and it not be seen as a joke. Seeing gay characters in a comic book show/movie is something that I would've loved to see as a kid, and tbh I still loved seeing it now as at 25. This is going to be groundbreaking for kids out there who deserve to see themselves in media they enjoy. I'm excited to see where Marvel will take these characters next time we see them. :) Edit to give Jac Schaeffer and John Collins their well deserved flowers. For the directing and production of the show. Seeing that the show relied more on practical effects was so refreshing with everything being CGI nowadays.
I can't believe I'm saying this but this might be one of the best Marvel/Disney shows. Most of them start off strong and kind of peter out by the end. Agatha started off alright and ended pretty strong. Also it felt like a tv show and not like a 2 hour movie stretched out to 6 hours for no reason

Hey so I didn’t think it was 2 separate episodes because ep8 had the / in the title I thought it was split and 2 and just under one episode so went into 8 thinking it was the finale. So when I saw 9 pop up I almost felt of the episode as an “epilogue” to the season and I thought I set up the next show so well while tying up all of the story lines from the season very well. I really enjoyed the preview of how Agatha will help Billy in the future with how she helped him in the final trial. Can’t wait to see more of Billy and Agatha in visonquest. Honestly didn’t see the twist of the road not being real until Billy made it real just like how his Mom created her own reality. I never guessed it. Loved the season and the reactions and all you do Coy have a great day!
I’m glad they aired these two episodes together I think the impact would feel disappointing if we had to wait a week. Episode 9 is mostly flashback and epilogue so waiting for it after the episode 8 twist would have had a mixed reception. But being able to go straight into it makes it more of a two part finale instead of separate episodes. Sure this was mainly to end on Halloween but with this and echo Disney are clearly considering what release schedule works best for each individual show

This was such a wild ride, I loved the show from the start but after seeing it to the end. This was amazing and the rewatchability is cool. Also love how we got comic accurate Agatha in the end. Marvel Television has started great 😊. Can't wait to see Wiccan and Agatha in the future.
I 💯 agree with you! I might have liked the earlier episodes a bit more as I love magic and grew up in the 90s with Yu Yu Hakusho and Sailor Moon so outside marvel, this touched on that. In EP 7, I shed a tear as it home some ways (grandpa with alzheimers). EP 8 is definitely the finale and 9 tm an extended credit

If you pay attention to the music that Agatha and Nicky sing together in episode nine… it starts out very sweet and major sounding… But by the end, it has turned into the minor song with the dark tonality that Agatha now remembers her dead son by.

YES!!! Thank you for mentioning this. I felt that was one of the most creative parts of the episode. Just hearing how the song develops over time between them and then hearing how the structure changed as Agatha co-opted it for her villainous ways. And then seeing the coven sing it with all that gusto from episode one… It was pure brilliance.
I’m kind of surprised a lot of people are not liking this ending. I liked the show from beginning to end but the last 3 episodes hit even harder for me.
- I loved that they committed to our characters actually dying. Alice’s scene realizing that she was dying was hard hitting, and Rio’s response was honest but cold 💀.
- Loved them committing to Agatha being a villain, even down to the last minute. Makes her so different from several MCU characters and it’s nice she gets to occupy a space where she can allow Billy to explore the dark side that his mother also has.
- The flashbacks with Agatha were heartbreaking, but loved that they humanized her without making her a good person. She made her son an accomplice to murder 😂. And love the Witches Road being a lie she made up, even more so loved the fact that she and Nick made up the ballad together.
- Loved Billy’s costume and power reveal! And the reality warping twist was FANTASTIC! Like mother, like son. I think this coupled with Billy being somewhat implicated in the deaths of his coven members due to his lack of knowledge/control of his powers will be the bridge to help him one day connect to Wanda. He can now fully relate to lack of magical control and the collateral damage it can cause.
- Love ghost mentor Agatha! What a great way to keep Kathryn Hahn here while paying homage to the comics!
- Final tidbits: Loved Rio here, can’t wait for her to pop back up. Really hope Jennifer Kale comes back! Ending “let’s go find Tommy” was sick!

Hmm I think fans were expecting Wanda haha but for me, I loved it. Everything made sense! That is why Agatha had that hunch that it was Billy, cos only someone so powerful like Wanda could manifest a dimension out of magic.
I feel like that’s the thing for a lot of people as well. And I’m the biggest Wanda stan and would’ve LOVED that! But the showrunner has been very clear not to expect big cameos in the finale so I made peace with it 🤷🏻♂️😂 this show honestly did more to make me feel good about Wanda coming back in general with all of Agatha’s teasing and that’s enough for me rn.
I’m a Wanda stand but never expected her to make an appearance. I was honestly just really bummed out by the witches road being created by Billy (although genius, esp with Billy starting all the trials) instead of it already existing. I am completely okay with the witches staying dead cuz otherwise them being resurrected would take away from the emotional weight. However, I do not like the idea that they died kinda for nothing. I like how tragic it is and that Billy has to live with that now, but idk. Lilia dying to a fabricated trial after the brilliance of episode 7- just having her entire life come to a head with a meaningful and intentional sacrifice rings a bit hollow after it learning it was Billy’s doing all along. Alice also. I think what would have helped soften the blow was having Alice reunite with her mom in the afterlife or something. I also just did not like the pacing of episode 8. I did not want a traditional superhero fight scene with iffy cgi. Billy’s costume reveal is cool but nonsensical imo with him entering with it already on. It definitely didn’t match Wanda’s Scarlet Witch transformation in Wandavision. Episode 9 was really nice tho. Idk how to feel about Billy doing a 180 quickly right after trying to banish Ghost Agatha but okay I guess. I feel like the series could have benefited from fleshing out Agatha and Rio more. I think Agatha just being a psychopath power hungry witch killer fits in her character as well as her relationship with her son. I just wish we got more context leading up to or before Agatha gave birth to Nicholas. This is where the Salem Seven could have been inserted more into the story, I feel, to expand on Agatha even more.

Alice broke the family curse, reconnected with her mother, and got to protect someone with her magic. Lilia reconnected with her magic by realizing that she needed friends to care for rather than stay alone, so she gave her life for them, a life that was already far too long and close to the end. Jen learned who had bound her and became unbound. Agatha found a surrogate son and resolved her relationship with Rio, with the ending implying that she will go on some kind of redemption tour so that she can reunite with her actual son without shame in the afterlife. Billy gained acceptance of whom he really is, learned what really happened to Tommy, helped resurrect Tommy, and will soon reunite with him. The only character who died pointlessly was Sharon Davis, but the pointlessness of her death was already part of the story.
Would've been pretty cool if we found out Alice had a child. Now free of the generational curse

So thrilled to hear the show won you over. As a Wiccan fan for over a decade i could not be more thrilled to actually have him in the MCU and have Agatha as his mentor. I need the followup series announced asap.
It didn’t end the way I expected, and that was a really really good and positive thing. What an amazing show, it started strong and somehow managed to get better and better with each subsequent episode. I fully expect for it to be nominated for multiple Emmys like WandaVision was. It’s one of the best things Marvel has done.
Coy, this is the first time I'm watching your videos and the way you didn't censor your thoughts but still were respectful to people who liked it, and when you changed your mind you were clear about the reasons, they all make me trust your reviews more. I loved this show, I'm quite literally the demographic for thus show (😂) but never once was i made to feel like I'm dumb for liking it even when you didnt like it.

Such a fun show, man. All characters and stories are so intriguing and interesting. Billy's got one of the most complex and interesting origin stories and I feel like the show and Joe managed to bring it all to life really well. Agatha in ep 9 broke my heart. Such a mix of emotions there. A villain through and through, but still good (in her own way)
This show turned out to be excellent and a perfect sequel to wandavision

in this context, Billy really is Wanda's son. he conjured up The Road without even knowing it. just like how Wanda conveniently forgot she made Westview and everyone in it how she thought a perfect community/family should be.

I loved the show from the start, but it's like John Campea said, episode 7 bumped up the quality of every episode we see through Lillia's eyes, but this one turned the Ballad from something that pumps me up every time I hear it, to something so tragically sad, it's not just Nicky's memory being used as bait for murder, but everyone we lost along the way.
So many connections to Nicky. Why she called it "her purple". Why she always seemed to be centered by her broach whenever the costumes changed. The way Agatha was SURE it was "Coven of two". God this show.

The show was so well written, the way even what seemed like throw away lines like in the beginning Agatha insisting it was “coven of two” came full circle in that finale.
All the deaths were on Billy's tarot card. The cup of poison, the satanic disc which represented the record spinning backwards, the sword and the table, and the flowers represent Agatha's death

As soon as I watched it my immediate thought was "They stuck the landing!" The last episode made me cry. All I could think was "She's just a mama, missing her baby boy". Doesn't forgive her actions, but now I understand.
@@ashleehughes1194 Yeah. And her self defense when she let herself be accused of his death let her feel anger rather than really dealing with her grief as a mom whose child died. And killing others continued to emotionally create drama over her deeper wound.
I absolutely loved this!! That young actor that portrayed Nicholas, what a little sweetheart....great job! Agatha couldn't face her own son, heartbreaking. Joe Locke, what a talent. Coy, do you think they'll be a Season 2, The Hunt for Tommy? I hope so....we still have Agatha, even tho she's a ghost lol talk about unfinished business.

I really hope we get to see Billy and Tommy's journey in some way. I can't stop thinking about how Billy ended up in the body of someone who's so loved and cared for, but Tommy's ended up with the exact opposite.
That's why Billy has to find him as soon as possible so he is not alone for much longer!

This was and EXCEPTIONAL show! Maybe the best Marvel Disney Plus show. It used the medium of TV well (didn't feel like an extended movie cut up into 40 min. episodes). It had fantastic plotting, great characters, earned twists and a satisfying ending. And it didn't cost 250 million dollars! Maybe Marvel has learned their lesson....

I am a 67 year old Scotsman, one of six children who every month would get every comic from my Uncle who worked in a book shop and we would read and re read them all. . I have read the American Marvel and DC comics since I was about 6 and still read them now every week so what you talk about I am familiar with and it's great to see someone else with the same passion.
All of the hidden theme and emotional tone in this serie are amazing. So many thing that make it more emotional watching it in the second time.

I was kind a on the same page as Coy. Not much interested for the first four episode. Thern came the fifth, which got me exited, a bit of let down on the sixth. But after the seventh I was all in and went back to rewatch all the first 6 eèisode and there I realised how much was hiden in plain sight.
This is the sort of show that may not start strong, but if you stick to the end it is highly rewarding.
Having just played the Marvel Midnight Suns game a few months ago, I FREAKED OUT when Agatha appeared as a ghost! Such an awesome experience!
I look forward to re-watching this show because it's completely recontexetualized, and I want to see how I enjoy it, knowing all the pieces of the puzzle as I watch. I like how it was contained, but elements (Wiccan) could still play a part in the whole of the MCU.

I feel like of all the phases of grief that Marvel has been hitting on, this one seemed to lean heavy towards bargaining and acceptance. I loved it, the revelation of the origin of the Witches Road song, her hatred of Death...the emotional wrap up to comic accurate Agatha--freakin chef's kiss all day. Definitely want more Marvel like this

I gotta give it to you man, good on you for sticking by your initial feelings and opinions towards the early episodes of the show, despite the witch hunt (pun absolutely intended) that some fans lead against you on the RR page. You didn't let it stop you from continuing to give the show a chance, which takes a lot of reserve and will. I loved and respected this show in a very similar way to yourself, having a somewhat difficult time early on (mainly episodes one/two for me) but very quickly finding it to be one of my favorite MCU shows thus far. As the show progressed I found myself doing more and more theory crafting, looking forward to each week with increasing fervor. It was a joy watching you and the boys on RR react to AAA, and an even greater joy seeing you find your love for it. Never change man. Excited to catch the next series' with y'all!
He has a professional critics to be frank. He acknowledges that he couldn't resonate or realate the show *from his point of view* in the beginning. While also doesn't let himself becoming like these rage bait/reactionary youtuber with this algorhm stuff. And he critics the show the way it is, especially when the later episodes, he acknowledges great aspect of this show and reflecting back of the entire series. I'm all for people having opposite opionion about a show,films,books and Coy does give great reasoning of what/why/how it works or doesn't work for him. I hope we will see more youtuber like Coy.
Episode 7 was the best. Lilia's sigil on Billy lead to the destruction of every single Darkhold in the multiverse. Let that sink in.

I'm so glad you ended up enjoying this show. I didn't realize this is what I have been missing from the MCU. Honestly, when it got too comicy was when I was taken out a bit. But all the stuff with Lilia and seeing Agatha in the past in Nicky...it was all so beautiful. I'm also SO excited to watch it again knowing what we know now about the road.

Let’s clarify a few things the witches Road song was created by Agatha and her son apparently Agatha was avoiding dying by constantly cheating death when she was absorbing all of the witches powers it was prolonging her life so death always was looking and coming after her she continued to always cheat death which is why she told her son she was killing them to survive without her absorbing, witches powers she would’ve been died. that’s throwing off the natural balance it’s already one thing that apparently witches live very long lives to begin with they still haven’t explained how she got a hold of the book of the Damned tho. I knew from the very beginning that teen, Billy whatever name you want to use was the source of the witches Road what I didn’t figure out is that it was a manifestation of his powers Agatha, knowing the song was a trap for witches new instantly who he was the moment she saw the door appear he created the road and the obstacles in it subconsciously so the rules were real as well. Agatha said he couldn’t read her mind. She didn’t say she couldn’t hear his thoughts. She knew when he would try to read her mind. She kissed death, which is the kiss of death. By finally embracing what she’s been avoiding for centuries. Agatha, Billy and Tommy all was supposed to be dead. But now Billy and Tommy are living and dead peoples bodies, which is why Agatha said so what he broke the rules for shadowing her cheating death just like when Doctor Strange was sleepwalking inside his variant dead corpse

I have to agree that the show didnt grab me until the last two episodes. I dont know if I would ever go back to it but I am floored how much people loved it. I was really shocked but I saw how much people were doggin on it before it came out. I feel real protective of the MCU and it’s nice to hear people talk about how much they love MCU projects again. I have loved phase 4 and 5 but i know for some they haven’t been feeling it. Glad to see the MCU getting so much love again.
The show had me in the first 2 episodes, it kind of lost me the next few but then the last 3 just tied it all together to where there is a new appreciation for those episodes that initially felt lost. Marvel delivered on this one, Kathrine delivered, and in such a way I have to go back and re-watch it with that new lens.
Amazing ending. The unraveling of the whole thing in the last few episodes was brilliant.

This may be the best MCU show to me. I need to rewatch asap. I loved that it makes sure to show that witches are not superheroes they are their own thing operating with their own rules. WV is good to me but the finale was a bit of a let down, yet AAA only got better as it went along. I hope Jac is already working on a follow up whatever it may be called. Though it seems Paul Bettany said Agatha was the second of the trilogy and his show is the finale so perhaps Wiccan and Agatha will be in that at some point?…
Agatha against all odds. a couple of months ago most people (myself included) couldn't care less for this show, I really love how everyone is enjoying it right now.

There’s something hilarious about the fact that the comics aged Agatha down to look like her MCU character, and then at the end of the show the MCU character is aged up to look comic-accurate.

I was enjoying the Road trials and all, it was fun, but Lillia's episode was something else!
Episodes 8 and 9 were interesting too. But very sentimental, so maybe some people won't like them because of that. But I really liked them, and I like when Agatha has those flashback on the Road showing that from the beginning of course she knew the boy was making real the legend she created with the song... "if you weren't her son none of this would be so dramatic!" was a pearl! 😄👍🏻

Ive always always loved geeky media, Marvel included, but Ive always stayed away from the fans because of how toxic they can be to people who are different, so seeing someone say "its not for me , but I can still appreciate it" was so refreshing. This show definitely hit the landing that a lot of the other Marvel shows have lacked. The confrontation between Death, Agatha and Wiccan was such a memorable scene too. That final flashback episode too was so bittersweet. It seemed like Agatha was going to stop hunting witches only for her son to die, causing her to go back to her old life as a solitude witch killer. As for the show in general, Patti as Lilia was the highlight of the entire season for me and I hope she gets a well deserved Emmy nomination (or win, fingers crossed). I also loved seeing Billy be proudly queer and Agatha/Rio kiss, and it not be seen as a joke. Seeing gay characters in a comic book show/movie is something that I would've loved to see as a kid, and tbh I still loved seeing it now as at 25. This is going to be groundbreaking for kids out there who deserve to see themselves in media they enjoy. I'm excited to see where Marvel will take these characters next time we see them. :)
Edit to give Jac Schaeffer and John Collins their well deserved flowers. For the directing and production of the show. Seeing that the show relied more on practical effects was so refreshing with everything being CGI nowadays.

I can't believe I'm saying this but this might be one of the best Marvel/Disney shows. Most of them start off strong and kind of peter out by the end. Agatha started off alright and ended pretty strong. Also it felt like a tv show and not like a 2 hour movie stretched out to 6 hours for no reason

Hey so I didn’t think it was 2 separate episodes because ep8 had the / in the title I thought it was split and 2 and just under one episode so went into 8 thinking it was the finale. So when I saw 9 pop up I almost felt of the episode as an “epilogue” to the season and I thought I set up the next show so well while tying up all of the story lines from the season very well. I really enjoyed the preview of how Agatha will help Billy in the future with how she helped him in the final trial. Can’t wait to see more of Billy and Agatha in visonquest. Honestly didn’t see the twist of the road not being real until Billy made it real just like how his Mom created her own reality. I never guessed it. Loved the season and the reactions and all you do Coy have a great day!

I’m glad they aired these two episodes together I think the impact would feel disappointing if we had to wait a week. Episode 9 is mostly flashback and epilogue so waiting for it after the episode 8 twist would have had a mixed reception. But being able to go straight into it makes it more of a two part finale instead of separate episodes.
Sure this was mainly to end on Halloween but with this and echo Disney are clearly considering what release schedule works best for each individual show

If Wandavision, Agatha All Along, Vision Quest is a trilogy. How do you believe they will or tie Vision Quest to two other properties that are magic and witchcraft inspired.

I 💯 agree with you! I might have liked the earlier episodes a bit more as I love magic and grew up in the 90s with Yu Yu Hakusho and Sailor Moon so outside marvel, this touched on that. In EP 7, I shed a tear as it home some ways (grandpa with alzheimers). EP 8 is definitely the finale and 9 tm an extended credit
