Hi Jen, I'm greener than a green thing chewing green stuff with envy seeing this one. It must have been a wonderful experience to travel on the footplate of a living, breathing A4 and one called Sir Nigel Gresley. To say that I'm a tad jealous would be an understatement. I have driven a steam loco once over 20 years ago, a lovely 0-6-2 GWR tank at the East Somerset railway if I recall correctly on a weekend that my late dad was staying, I drove it one way he drove it back. He was like a kid with two jellies and I have a photo somewhere with him on the footplate. Priceless. Many thanks for sharing.

Very nice film. Those three might as well have been driving a Ford Focus for all the joy they displayed. What a trio of down in the mouths. Perhaps they were going for studied nonchalance.

Excellent footage on the footplate and nice to see how much work has gone in to it as it looks immaculate. The last time I was on the footplate of SNG was at Northwich depot open day in the early 80's and I was about 7!!
