Honestly I am super psyched. I really enjoyed what AMC did for this series. And as much as I love Tom Cruise in the role (iconic). Sam is the essence of Lestat. My only issue is actually the music. I want to see either a more industrial/ noise with a sprinkle of FKA Twigs sound. Or an Iggy Pop approach. Less Blusey. Or full neo glam rock. But that's just me. Still can't wait to see it.

Oh lawd, it was controversial that Tom Cruise was cast as Lestat. Anne didn’t want him cast and quit the production over it. Fans didn’t want it because it’s Tom Cruise, wtf is he doing as a vampire?!?? He proved to be adequate but avoided the homoeroticism and would never have cut it as a believable rock star. Stuart Townsend had the rock star part down and that was about it. Most fans have been waiting for Sam since the books were published. I’m glad Anne got to see him before she died.

Technically we are no longer in “IWAV “ we are entering VL the second book . The whole series even interview was about Lestat . It’s just being told from Louis POV but it’s a small introduction to Lestat . The whole chronicle is about him.

People forget, Louis really only was a a part of Lestat journey for a small time . The whole Chronicles became Lestat story. He is the main character. I personally hime they don’t make it all about Louis and him only , there are just as interesting situations with other characters in the books .

Marius, Gabrielle, even the "conversation" with Nicolas is very important to the story. They should be included. It is in Queen of the Damned that the modern Rockstar version of Lestat really is front and center. Season 3 should focus on Lestat and his past. But maybe as a recollection with Louis present. Louis was in the book. Just the later parts. In fact, their "reunion" cements how deep their relationship was. The writers have been doing a great job so far. I have confidence they will keep the momentum going.
Maybe I’m reading this wrong or maybe I’m stating the obvious, but this whole clip is a music video right. Lestat playing up to the expected diva behaviours of a ‘vampire rockstar’. Daniel coughing after asking about IWTV, almost as if Lestat is choking him with his vampire powers. The camera zooms in on him as if by magic as he uses his mind gift to talk to the audience before he starts to sing. No this is Lestat preforming as ‘The Vampire Lestat’
Are we not gonna talk about how Lestat stared directly into the camera and making it zoom in as he talks. This is top notch quality and so much what Lestat would do.
it has been two weeks now and I am drooling over Sam Reid like anything. He has defined acting at a different level. In S1 he has shown what is to be truly androgynous. He has been an amazing "character shifter" slipping into being a man and a woman so effortlessly. His eyes and his voice are his greatest assets and he can deliver dialogues even if he is not speaking a single word.
I cannot, however, get over the fact that the bass 'n beat to this song sound very much exactly like the song 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles).' Like intensely😅
Oh and also in the entirety of the writers room. Because I'm pretty sure we trust in Rolin because of the collaborative discussion and careful consideration that must go into script decisions by this whole group.
This is glorious. Longtime Cruise-as-Lestat fan but wow Sam & co said "hmmm what if we did that but MORE?" I didn't even know more was possible. I didn't know this level of extra existed. I have no choice but to stan.
